I've seen this story before on a Japanese folklore show on Netflix, it's a young girl which can't decide her own decisions so the father decided to hire a woman due to the girls mental health after her mother died, the "decision maker" for the girl had her health decreased due to abuse for money, a few days later, she died from her roommate because she refused to give them money, after she died the girl could make her decision by herself but it was because the decision maker was helping her still, and one night she went out and killed her roommate because her decision maker was making her and she went home and her dad was horrified (her father was the president in the story btw lol) sorry if this doesn't make sense to you.
Yeah, the same premise of a manga by junji ito. A few of Honey’s skits are the pretty similar to some of Junji ito’s works. For instance bones, this one and I’m pretty sure next door too. But those are just to name a few.

When Maya did what she did at the end, I thought she was as crazy as heck! I will probably have nightmares tonight bc it’s late... and I did think she was gonna kill her dad. Now I'm watching this two years later, I think Maya really reminds me of Kanao Tsuyuri from Demon Slayer - she is not able to make her own decisions, just like Maya, yet she uses a coin to decide things for herself. I believe the coin is 'rigged'; it only seems to land on tails.
