코로나때문에 관객은 안 받은 것도 신의한수. 관객석없는 일자 무대랑 다양한 카메라 워킹 활용을 제대로 해서 그런지 아이돌들 평생 보기힘든 레전드 무대가 많이 나오는 것 같네요.

여기서 주목해야 할 건 이게 복선이 있다는 거임ㅠㅜ 처음에 액자 모양은 최후의 만찬이랑 구성이 비슷하고 배신자인 유다 자리에 앉아있는 빨간머리 선우 그리고 마지막에 주연이가 왕관 되찾았을 때 혼자 뒤에 있는 선우 도원경에서 문을 열지 못하는 선우 마지막 체크메이트에서 떨어지는 퍼포먼스까지 진짜 스토리까지 조지게 완벽하다니까ㅠㅜ

표정들이 다들 너무 좋아서 저절로 무대에 집중이 된다. 본방때도 숨 못쉬고 봤는데 또 봐도 숨 못 쉬고 보게 만드네.. 저번 괴도는 화려한 퍼포먼스와 칼군무 덕에 무대가 멋있다고 생각했는데 이번 건 그냥 눈빛이랑 분위기로 제압해버렸네..
와 거의 연말 시상식에서 볼만한 무대인데.........

전 돌덬은 아니고 잘된 케이팝 무대 가끔 찾아보는데 로투킹에선 더보이즈 무대 제일 열심히 보고있음미다 무대보는 맛이 있음
퍼포장인이다 무대황용력, 편곡, 스토리 모든게 돋보이고 최고였음 특히 돛 올리는건 진짜 소름돋았음 이번 로투킹으로 많은 사람들이 알았으면 좋겠는데 나만 알았으면 좋겠다

They are the scariest group I've ever seen in K-pop in terms of performance. The team who arranged this song, developed the storyline, artful stage design (and props), the back-up dancers, directors, dance choreographer, and the members of THE BOYZ themselves are worthy of praise. It won't hurt to say that they're making a history for large audiences that have never seen nor experienced this 4th generation group (performance & music) before. There's more to come, can we handle it?

He was injured when they performed this. And we have no idea how much pain he had to endure for this stage. I seriously found it both amazing and heartbroken when i see he dance, cause he didn't slack off. His facial expression, even when he was at the back? He was so determined !! Kevin is amazing. Totally worthy of praise, i wanna pat him and tell him that im really proud of him!

케이팝의 기념비,,,, 남돌 퍼포라는 것이 도달할 수 있는 종착점
더보이즈에게 한계는 없다는걸 증명한 무대.. 헝거게임 컨셉부터 편곡 퍼포먼스 스토리라인 그리고 가사를 바꾸는 디테일까지 뭐 하나 완벽하지않은게 없었다 칼을 간 수준을 넘어 더 강한 새로운 칼을 만들어냄 멤버들 아이디어가 장난아닌듯
멤버들의 능력치, 컨셉, 아이디어, 인원수를 잘 활용한 "완벽한" 무대였다.. 이를 갈고 나왔어 진짜...ㄷㄷ 앞으로의 무대도 다 준비되어 있는 것 같아서 소름이 돋고 아니 머릿속에 대체 뭐가 들었길래 이런 무대가 나올 수 있는지 너무 궁금하고 이보다 더한 무대가 있을까 싶은 기대감까지... 더보이즈는 모든 준비가 되어있구나

The boyz told a whole story in a survival show and that’s a king behavior. The way they use the stage is amazing and definitely worthy of praise, also watching other groups react to them makes me sure they’ll be first. Those who say they used a choreographer all I have to say is every group used a choreographer. It’s about storytelling and how to present it and they do it so well.
And even if they used a choreographer I’m a 100% sure they came up with the concept themselves so they deserve the praise
but lets not expect too much, in the 2nd round i think they lost (NOT A HATER ACTUALLY LOVE THE BOYZ AND IM ONLY WATCHING RTK CUZ OF THEM and verivery) because in the ending part of ep 3 where they're showing some clips, juyeon said (not the exact words) "I thought 'we will be forever first place'" but i will root for the boyz till the end of rtk and wish that mnet will not suck on rtk just like in produce :(

I watched this performance a million times already and I’m still so impressed that the guys and the background dancers in the “painting” stayed completely still for like 20 seconds. I know it’s not that hard to do but it made for a beautiful backdrop as Changmin and Kevin danced and also as Sangyeon did his part.
The performance left me SPEECHLESS. No matter how many times I watch it, every time I'm shocked. All the groups did well but tbz were on a whole other level. The dynamic of the performance really made it outsold, the story from start to finish was clear. This isn't a performance, this is a whole play. And props for basically starting from scratch with the choreography. Only part of the chorus and the bridge from the original was kept. The whole thing was reinvented

이게이게 진짜 신기한 게 무대가 전반적으로 어두운 색감이고 의상도 그렇고 검은색이 대부분인데 어떻게 이렇게 색채가 다양한 느낌을 줄 수 있는 건지 신기하고 놀랍다 무대 전체적으로 봤을 때 그리 어두운 느낌이 아님..놀랍다 놀라워 정말
저는 옷이 어두운 게 더 색감을 부각시킨 것 같아요! 왕관도 검은 옷을 입어서 더 부각 돼 보이고 조명도 제가 전문가는 아니지만 분위기에 맞게 잘 연출한 것 같은데 검고 광택 있는 옷이 조명을 예쁘게 받는 것 같더라구요

This performance was followed by the last 'danger' performance. They said each member had their own ability during the Danger performance. Juyeon is a shadow and hyunjae is an invisibility. So, at the end of the stage showed "The rise of the full moon, the reveal of the true king" But if you look at the back screen, the full moon will not appear yet. With this, Juyeon wearing a crown is not a real king but a shadow protecting hyunjae and the true king is Hyunjae

This really reminds me of the movie The Hunger Games (I know the performance is inspired by the books and movies). Especially now that after The Boyz won on Road to Kingdom last year they have to "battle" again this year in Kingdom just like the victors had to battle again in the Quarter Quell. Kevin is genius!

I'm gon be so honest: I'm a UNIVERSE and I watched RTK to support PENTAGON and the other underrated groups... but I never expected myself to fall so hard for The Boyz because I simply cannot deny the amount of talent they have!! All their performances are crazy amazing, from ideas to choreography to performance... The fact that they're all all-rounders is even crazier?! Like as a dancer I have crazy respect for Q, Juyeon and Eric bc when I first started checking them out they were the ones who stood out to me dance wise... But after all their RTK performances wow every single one of them screamed crazy good dancers and vocal/rapper!! Sunwoo's dance part got me shookt honestly and Haknyeon too... So I guess I'm officially stanning The Boyz as well! But anyway just wanted to say, please do support all the underrated groups because all the groups in RTK are so amazing and deserve more love!!!!! Every single performance feels like a MAMA performance and I hope every group gets to show what they've got and gain more recognition from all over the world after this (':

@@hello_bunnyy if you watch his individual fancam for this performance, you can see he was injured. I'm not sure how or what exactly it was, but he was sort of hobbling. It was so heartbreaking to watch him slowly walk up the stairs and to try his best dancing hard too. Essentially I guess it shows his professionalism and dedication and we all appreciate it, but i wish they'd take better care of themselves too.

I love how haunting the arrangement is. Starting off soft and building up to the prechorus. But the chorus was strings and piano, which is a surprise! Soon more elements were introduced, the electronic leads are sooo nice! Loved the prechorus bass!!! Then it turned out like a j-rock band with a electric guitar solo! Adding pauses and stops for the last chorus just grasped my attention (its commonly used yet so impactful every single time)

IKR!! this is an award-winning worthy song (which it did) but it's still on another level, it's flawless!! though every song of their rtk performances are perfect, i loved every single one of it
The storyline. The arrangement. The vocals. The choreograohy. The acting. The costumes. The stage designs. Everything was well planned and executed perfectly huhu the boyz are really trying to prove they are talented so i hope ppl will start to recognize them already huhu
I keep thinking about this stage because they really told a whole story + repurposed the lyrics to "reveal" so well.
changmin/Q was dethroned in a coup. his story was still told years later, and his supporters (the people in the framed picture) are still mourning his loss, as they still consider him their king. they sing about missing him, about how they got surprised with "a second sun" (I'm interpreting it as the second ruler, the one who took over the crown), and about how they hope that one day they'll be able to "burn like embers that can't be put out" and show themselves for the fallen king and for their love for him.
Q still inspires them, as we can see when he dances behind kevin. sangyeon's lyrics also carry a whole different meaning now in this context, when he sings that he's "getting locked up for you [= for Q, the fallen king, and for their cause], in the darkness, but not for much longer". then he breaks free of his chains, literally spelling it out for us that a revolution is coming.
new's part is a mournful lament. they even changed "every night i'm down for your love" in the original lyrics to "tonight i'm down for you love". they're either falling or rising up tonight. hyunjae's line too, "i'm holding my breath under the moonlight", they spelled it out for us with younghoon literally choking him. it's not a poetic "holding my breath" anymore, it's literally a matter of life or death.
eric + jacob + sunwoo + kevin, when they're lined up, their lyrics also talk about upturning someone's world, and about how "a new sun is coming up, you're gonna love it". this is a war cry! they're singing for their fallen king. (the choreo also alludes to fighting here, it's super pretty and subtle.)
then hyunjae's lines!! he sings about how he's gonna make all his dreams come true, how he will "protect this road", a very clear the "les miserables" reference with that shot of him and sunwoo perched up with the flags. that's when they rise up together. the revolution began! that's why it's so crowded below the flags, the people are on the streets. they're fighting together.
younghoon's line, "i'm shining on you with your eyes closed", a literal ode to the fallen king. then the next lines about how dawn is coming, and they can see the end...
and finally, the climax with Q being the one lighting up juyeon and hyunjae's hands. because he's the heart of the revolution. he's the one who inspired them to fight in the first place, even if the fight became their own (eric's lines in the end, when he falls forward and sings that his heart will be the one shining after all). and the final line they changed in the lyrics, hyunjae's line that "the flames will now burn", a direct callback to sunwoo's line in the beginning about wanting to burn like embers that can't be put out.
tl;dr they incorporated the lyrics in the concept really beautifully and told us a whole story of tragedy, tyranny and uprising in a 4min performance. seriously, this is amazing!

A post on their fan cafe explained that “The B” is an abbreviation of “The Boyz’s Vitamin.” The first syllable of the word “vitamin” in Korean is spelt in a way that sounds like the English letter “B,” and part of the meaning is that fans will be like vitamins for the members.
The post stated that the letter “B” was used rather than “V” to show that fans are one with The Boyz and to include the meaning that they are “The Best” fans.
