You should go to Vidcon London (if it ever happens again)
Not that it's bigger I just think it would be fun x)
I would love to ngl
@@Mikeonut I second this
Agreed
I will say the creator area has a whole separate hall to wander, it’s not big, but does feature so cool creators focus company’s stuff
Only six likes and no replies? Let me handle that.
I could never go that long without water.
Also, compared to my first convention (more of a meet-and-greet but same general ballpark), you had it pretty lucky. For context, I attended the BFDI/Inanimate Insanity 2022 Meetup in July, and it was quite a mixed bag. The tickets were free, but that amounted to nothing because they were admitting people into the building who hadn’t yet gotten tickets.
The creators hosting the meetup had no idea the turnout would be so high. The building was kinda small compared to VidCon, so the line to get in ended up wrapping around the block TWICE. I was in line for 6 1/2 hours before I got to meet the main team of creators that were hosting the event. I missed all the main events as a result. The family in front of me left after about 2 hours of waiting, and I don’t blame them for it.
The upside to this was that there were several other creators and friends of the hosts who were incredibly nice. They were frequently going around the line interacting with fans and keeping spirits up. I got to meet some pretty cool people whose content I enjoyed, and I got a cute sticker from one of them.
And then there was the fallout from this event, and OOF, was it big. This has nothing to do with me, but it is pretty big for this particular community. Apparently, one creator and staffer at the meetup named Loren was deliberately avoiding another creator named Guy because he thought Guy was someone he didn’t like named Gene. Guy and Gene look nothing alike except that they’re both black. Loren's girlfriend Ame and one of the main hosts of the meetup Taylor came to Loren's defense, and boy did the community not like how they handled things. All three were fired from working on Inanimate Insanity, which was extra huge because Taylor *co-created* that series. Like that’s how bad things got.
Also someone brought a risqué-looking body pillow to the meetup, which is weird because a majority of people there were CHILDREN.
i was actually at the convention and also was disapointed that the animator vs minecrafter was canceled, but anyway can't wait for the next vidcon
dude this is fucking amazing, vidcon seems so cool!
i would've kept asking for pizza to see how much they'd be willing to give me before they cut me off ngl o wo ~
