They should an old school pro mod class, long burnouts, hand brakes old school bodies, like the early 90s. Don't have to be as fast as today's cars but wheels up, lencos, etc.
With clutches, no torque converters, dump valves, etc. NHRA needs to give an aero/weight break too. Everyone runs a Camaro body because it is the most aerodynamic so there's no variety.
Yea it was bad enough when NHRA nitro cars went to 1000 foot. These cars are beautiful and freakin badass, but we the people, die hard drag racing fans, want 1/4 mile
@@JoeStill-un9gpi think its more of an issue of body panels flying off into the pits/grandstands, not much holding them onto the cars apart from the quick release hinges and window locks
Going to the 1/8th mile, saves so much wear and tear on the cars, may not be as exciting as the whole 1/4, but i am sure driving it is just as exciting. Sure it saves money all around for the drivers, just lucky there racing year around here
In no offense if this event can't do quarter mile racing than organizations have to cancel the show this week cause these guys are pros not a bunch of whips hopefully the night of fire can this week since that nitro dash for cash event is coming.
I love those Pro Modified car's, the old school bodies and the way they sound is incredible.
I appreciate this channel so much! thanks for the uploads!!
Good to see Derek Ward and Brandon Pesz running well

They are too scared to run 1/4 mile these days
to fast
Mark Mickey went 5.35 @ 272 during testing for this event.
If they ran 1/4 there would be a bunch of tore up parts and race cars.
@@goblebrotherracing5525 bs, they would turn basically the same RPM's with ring and pinion change, I don't buy it

😎😎😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am not up on the rules but how is it that turbos can run equal ETs but at a much higher speed.
Best way to think about it is. A blower car makes all of its et in the 330. Turbo cars are quicker out the back

What occurs in that extra 2 seconds that you so desperately crave
I'd like to see you try to go 60 feet in under a second, let alone 660ft in 3.6
y was it qm on Wednesday and 1/8th Thursday
They just had the 1/4 timing system on
All that money wasted on 1/8th mile! Stupid. This is why I'll never go too another promod event.
Thank you for keeping the crowds down
@dakotaautosales9673 all day bay! Absolutely boring as shit without a crowd. We both win.
