I just might give the Clifton 9 a try. The Clifton was my favorite every day training shoe, until the Clifton 8. The cushioning just did not hold up in the Clifton 8. I wasn't going to pay $130 for a pair of shoes that had lost most of it's cushioning and felt flat at 200 miles.

I look forward to trying these. I loved the Clifton 7. Unfortunately the Clifton 8 didn’t work for me, the toe box just didn’t feel the same on that model.

I hope after 9 iterations of this shoe Hoka has finally fixed the arch bite issue. There are so many reddit threads about people not being able to wear this shoe due to the sharp arch digging into their foot.

Bought the Clifton 7s a few years ago. Put 150mi on them and retired them. They didn’t do anything great. It was just a mundane shoe to me. Bleehh. Didn’t want to go fast, responsiveness was slow, not the most cushioned shoe for long runs. Nothing stood out. Now I can’t justify buying the Clifton 9s
