I love that you are doing a Christmas song at Easter! This is my favourite version ever of Oh Come all ye Faithful. The arrangement and beat was inspired by Kevin's Grenadian mum and Nigerian dad. PTX don't do covers, they do upgrades. :)
When Pentatonix was on _The Sing-Off_ there was one thing the judges said over and over, in a variety of ways. "You always surprise us. The question is, how long can you keep it up?" Well, by my figures it is now getting on for twelve years, with no end in sight. They always surprise us. And it's always a beautiful surprise. They treat the original music, the songwriters, and the original performers with the utmost respect, and yet somehow they always manage to turn their covers into upgrades. They find the hidden potential in songs, and they manage to bring that potential out. And *that* is the talent that fills me with awe, more than their incredible vocal ranges, and more than their skill at arranging. They see hidden potential everywhere, and they bring it into the light of day.
If you liked this one, I think you will enjoy, from their new album, "Holidays around the World", "Love Came on Christmas" which is a mash up of "Joy to the World", an African tune, and some original material. It is my favorite one on that album. So creative.
PTX always finds a way to not just upgrade any song they choose to do, but manage to make it their own. This time they took a rather staid, boring hymn and changed the tempo and added Caribbean/Baptist feel to it. I loved that they added the choir to build the crescendo of the song for the ending.
They are the best arrangers of the last decade. Who is better? A continuous stream of upgrades is what happens when you have 5 musical geniuses (6 with Ben Bram) arrange music. I can't hear it in the traditional way in my head anymore.
If I hadn't heard this before I would swear it was a Pentatonix original. LOVE IT.❤❤

Yeah, not just for Christmas any more. Makes you want to dance down the street with joy.
Great reaction to this beautiful Pentatonix video. Thank you. They are amazing.
I love the way Scott looks at Mitch when Mitch has the solo at the end.

What a fantastic uplifting, upgraded song. Makes the soul happy and that's what Pentatonix does. Subbing to see more PTX reactions.
They turn this solemn song into a celebration
Thank you.
Kevin’s father is from Nirobi and he wanted to honor him with this version
Love your reaction!!
Recommend their cover of Mad World.
They are all so magnificent, but I think Kevin takes center stage with this one! One of my favorites, whether it’s Christmas time or not. Peace …

It’s actually African. Kevin has Nigerian roots.
@@davidhalley9795, Kevin's mother was Grenadian. So, yeah...Caribbean.
