In my opinion as an ELF, we know that super junior has a title as King Hallyu Wave. It doesnt matter for me who paved the way or who is the king of kpop, but I think everyone agree that SJ is a legend and everyone have to respect super junior. So I hope for any fans out there, esp other than ELF, please respect idol from 1st or 2nd gen❤️🙏🏻
You are absolutely right, currently new "kpop fans" focus more on downgrading veteran groups, and don't realize that these 1st and 2nd generation groups are the ones that have really paved the way and opened many doors for younger groups. I am ELF and this is my opinion ♡

Well.... in my opinion it's groups like Super Junior and their senior the ones who paved the way for the ones who are on top now, without them nowadays group would be no one! I remember back in the day (i'm 40) when Rain, Big Bang, SuJu where big in the West... not to talk about Asia and other places.. but i guess people say "pave the way" refering to the western world. Well... Big Bang and SuJu had concerts in Europe, my friend at that time went and it was fking huge!! Loads of Kpop fans in Europe and Latinamerica also in USA... So... when i hear people saying bts paved the way... i find it disrespectful. Obviously bts have broken records = and remained on top but they actually could get the attention initially thank you to the support of the people who already knew about Kpop and old Kpop groups. So please let'd be respectful with the older generations and their hard work Edit: again, not to mention Asia (hallyu wave term appeared due to the huge boom of kpop and all K things in China, hallyu comes from the chinese mandarin term)...

I remember when I started kpop and Super Junior debuted in 2005 so many people in my school laughed at me for liking a group I didn’t understand. Now kpop is flourishing in America. People forget that Super Junior was the first kpop act to win Teen choice award in 2015. Until this day they still make it on top 20 album sells. 17 years and us Elfs will stay by their side. On the side note I’m so proud of my fandom because we have our own greetings :)
I was one of these girls who didn't understand why there were people liking Kpop... It was all so different for me: the rhythm, outfits, hairstyles, language... I remember hearing about Super Junior. They were a hit. Very popular. I never expected for me to be turn into a fan, but it happened 😅 I'm so happy noe to be by Suju's side ❤
I rember Super Junior and how famous they got (i'm from Europe!) i also knew about Bi Rain, TVXQ! (it helped that both Rain and Max Changmin were also doing romcoms), Big Bang, Girls Generation... Super Junior's Sorry Sorry was like one of the biggest hits (people later think that Gangnam Style was the first big hit from S.Korea but nahhh i think many in the USA simply didn't know and by the time they realised they thought they had discovered sth new...). My friend at the time went to Super Junior's concert in London in 2012!!! that was huge! i wish i had had money to go! and now they say bts paved the way... but no, it was groups like Super Junior who were paving it for the young generations
I'll forgive the fact that they only talked about MAMA days but let's be honest, Super Junior had some of the most explosive performance in MKMF, the predecessor of MAMA. Let's remember when they danced "T.O.P." in 2005. Let's talk about when they danced "A Man in Love". Mnet and SJ have a long history of great stage performance. MAMA cemented it for life.
@@HyHawaaa No they didn't. 2009 was just chaotic for SM with the issue with TVXQ and it was understandable that they had to lie low a bit on the awards shows and bank on "Sorry, Sorry" and SHINee's debut. Add the fact that it was a transition from MKMF to MAMA. SJ was nominated in 2009 MAMA too. In 2010 it was a bit of a mess because the voting system was new and fanwars inevitable. SM had decided to not participate but not entirely boycott MAMA.

Well my niece who 7 years old was also got to be a fan last year and her bias its the leader/leeteuk, and my son who is 10 years old also got attracted to SuJu last year and his bias is Siwon. Well ELF itself is EVER LASTING Friends indeed cause continuing reborn a new baby ELF hahaha

Thankyou MAMA for the award to suju as a legend, mybe it would be better if they could hold the trophy and talk on stage it would be a beautiful and touching moment for suju and elf. I feel proud and a little emotional when the male music critics mentioned that ELF itself is a well-known name, alongside Super Junior, in the world. I think this shows the special relationship Super Junior has with its fandom, that as its name suggests, we are not solely idol & fans, but really an everlasting friends that grow and walk together for a very long time.

Thanks to the members who refused to be in hiatus just because some other members were in the military. They even performed as 4 members in smtown stage which broke elfs' hearts. Not to mention, they garnered lots of baby elfs along the way.

I remember watching MAMA for the first time on 2011 because Suju will perform. Now it is 2022 and am still looking forward to their albums and performances. During their concerts and other live performances, they have this legendary vibes that speaks for themselves; whether it is just them standing and we watch their silhouette. I am happy that as years go by SJ did not stop reinventing themselves in every album. That is why they are truly unique and loveable until this day. Their love for us ELFs reach us through simple gestures and they remain so humble and transparent. Really good role models for other kpop artists. Legendary indeed.
you can't mention kpop without including super junior tbh. they opened a lot of opportunities for kpop to grow and expand all ove the world throughout the years and they deserved to be acknowledged for that. aside from having a strong fandom , sj is never afraid of exploring their music and they are capable of gaining new fans even in their 17th year which speaks a lot on how great they are 💙💙. no matter how many groups will be formed in the future, i'll stick with sj always 💙

I've been an E.L.Fs for 11 years, watching Super Junior's heyday stages is really emotional. All the stages were great but 2011 MAMA is still the most legendary. From a project group 6 months and then to "King of Hallyu" and now "legends" they had to pay with tears and blood !!! I love Super Junior and they will forever be legends in my heart and E.L.Fs 💙💙💙

Super Junior was the first group that introduced me to Kpop. Since then, I have adored them so much that I wish they could come to Vietnam. When I heard the news that I was going to have their first Super Show in my country, I burst into tears. As a naive 10-year-old kid, seeing his idols in the flesh in his own country was so heart-warming. I feel lucky to see that even now, many Vietnamese Kpop fans, young and old alike, still have respect for Suju 💙💙💙💙

My biggest passion to learn Korean was because of SUPER JUNIOR. I remembered that I tried to write down their names in Korean by looking at the name tags at their back in idol Olympics games. I was only a middle school student & dun even know ㄱ,ㄴ,ㄷ,ㄹ at that time ... xD (I was just curious how many fan girls did Hyukkie have & make sure he has a lot of fans 🤭) I'm now proficient in Korean & be able to start my teaching career because of these precious guys ^^ Thanks for being my Idols. I am proud of these boys now turned to fantastic gentlemen. I am also proud to be an ELF for how long since these idols of mine are active. Just like what our fandom means, Everlasting Friends.. We will always be here to support them through their ups and downs. Its not just always in happiness, but also in sadness. We will cry with them, and stand back along with them. Being afan is not an obsession but it's like having a friend and building that relatioship with them for a long time eventhough almost all of us haven't meet them in person. And we found that friendship on Super Junior, from 2005 until the present, they have not wavered to bring good performances to us. Other members may not be active now, but for us ELFs they will always be a part of it no matter what. I think that's what differs us from other fandom, we are loyal and supportive. We understand that time and unpredicted circumstances will come, but we will just stand with themin every decision they made. We are also not toxic, our wish now for our idol members is to meet the woman that will be with them and will add inspiration to their hectic idol lives. We don't want them to get lonely as they aged to 40s. We hope to see them building their own families and hopefully see the next batch of super Juniors🥰😇
I really miss watching Superjunior on the 2011 Mama show since I was in third grade. And I was touched to see Suju cry when winning the Artist of the Year Award at the MAMA event. Hopefully this memory is for Korean legend Superjunior and also ELF fans 💙😊😊💙💙

SUPER JUNIOR was the group that introduced me to KPOP without even knowing it was KPOP. I remember watching MTV music and hearing "Mr. Simple" for the first time. I was young and didn't know how korean sounded. I understood the English parts of the song and thought the whole song was in English. I asked my friend to include that song in my MP3 because I didn't know how to do it myself back then. Without even knowing them, without even knowing KPOP, "Mr. Simple" was (is actually) one the songs that I had in my first MP3 cd. As the years went by I got to know other groups that "introduced" me into the Kpop world, one of them being SuJu. I'm from Argentina, kpop wasn't that well spread and known back then. The fact that I listened to music in english was already something different. So realizing that I've been listening to Suju way before I "knew" of kpop made me so happy. Other groups might have been the reason I got to know kpop, but Super Junior will always be my first. And since then here is a proud ELF

I remember 2011 is the time of my struggle working in Singapore as a domestic helper at the age of 22, one of my employer tenant told me about the news of sj came to singapore and perform with many members that time and he is surprise with the popularity of sj that time. Im eager to see sj but then i have no day off or even phone that im using so being an elf since 2007, its really regretting that we are in the same country but i wasnt able to see them. Until 2019 then its my first time i met them incomplete on stage in philippine moa arena at ss8 . Its really long journey for me to see them in person its really my best day and i even cried ahhaha. My friend at the time went to Super Junior's concert in London in 2012!!! that was huge! i wish i had had money to go! and now they say bts paved the way... but no, it was groups like Super Junior who were paving it for the young generations

I'll forgive the fact that they only talked about MAMA days but let's be honest, Super Junior had some of the most explosive performance in MKMF, the predecessor of MAMA. Let's remember when they danced "T.O.P." in 2005. Let's talk about when they danced "A Man in Love". Mnet and SJ have a long history of great stage performance. MAMA cemented it for life.
Well SM boycott MAMA 2009 2010, so they had to starts talking only about 2011.
@@HyHawaaa No they didn't. 2009 was just chaotic for SM with the issue with TVXQ and it was understandable that they had to lie low a bit on the awards shows and bank on "Sorry, Sorry" and SHINee's debut. Add the fact that it was a transition from MKMF to MAMA. SJ was nominated in 2009 MAMA too. In 2010 it was a bit of a mess because the voting system was new and fanwars inevitable. SM had decided to not participate but not entirely boycott MAMA.

Thanks to the members who refused to be in hiatus just because some other members were in the military. They even performed as 4 members in smtown stage which broke elfs' hearts. Not to mention, they garnered lots of baby elfs along the way.

I remember watching MAMA for the first time on 2011 because Suju will perform. Now it is 2022 and am still looking forward to their albums and performances. During their concerts and other live performances, they have this legendary vibes that speaks for themselves; whether it is just them standing and we watch their silhouette. I am happy that as years go by SJ did not stop reinventing themselves in every album. That is why they are truly unique and loveable until this day. Their love for us ELFs reach us through simple gestures and they remain so humble and transparent. Really good role models for other kpop artists. Legendary indeed.
you can't mention kpop without including super junior tbh. they opened a lot of opportunities for kpop to grow and expand all ove the world throughout the years and they deserved to be acknowledged for that. aside from having a strong fandom , sj is never afraid of exploring their music and they are capable of gaining new fans even in their 17th year which speaks a lot on how great they are 💙💙. no matter how many groups will be formed in the future, i'll stick with sj always 💙

I've been an E.L.Fs for 11 years, watching Super Junior's heyday stages is really emotional. All the stages were great but 2011 MAMA is still the most legendary. From a project group 6 months and then to "King of Hallyu" and now "legends" they had to pay with tears and blood !!!

Super Junior was the first group that introduced me to Kpop. Since then, I have adored them so much that I wish they could come to Vietnam. When I heard the news that I was going to have their first Super Show in my country, I burst into tears. As a naive 10-year-old kid, seeing his idols in the flesh in his own country was so heart-warming. I feel lucky to see that even now, many Vietnamese Kpop fans, young and old alike, still have respect for Suju 💙💙💙💙

My biggest passion to learn Korean was because of SUPER JUNIOR.
I remembered that I tried to write down their names in Korean by looking at the name tags at their back in idol Olympics games.
I was only a middle school student & dun even know ㄱ,ㄴ,ㄷ,ㄹ at that time ... xD

I am proud of these boys now turned to fantastic gentlemen. I am also proud to be an ELF for how long since these idols of mine are active. Just like what our fandom means, Everlasting Friends.. We will always be here to support them through their ups and downs. Its not just always in happiness, but also in sadness. We will cry with them, and stand back along with them. Being afan is not an obsession but it's like having a friend and building that relatioship with them for a long time eventhough almost all of us haven't meet them in person. And we found that friendship on Super Junior, from 2005 until the present, they have not wavered to bring good performances to us. Other members may not be active now, but for us ELFs they will always be a part of it no matter what. I think that's what differs us from other fandom, we are loyal and supportive. We understand that time and unpredicted circumstances will come, but we will just stand with themin every decision they made. We are also not toxic, our wish now for our idol members is to meet the woman that will be with them and will add inspiration to their hectic idol lives. We don't want them to get lonely as they aged to 40s. We hope to see them building their own families and hopefully see the next batch of super Juniors🥰😇

SUPER JUNIOR was the group that introduced me to KPOP without even knowing it was KPOP. I remember watching MTV music and hearing "Mr. Simple" for the first time. I was young and didn't know how korean sounded. I understood the English parts of the song and thought the whole song was in English. I asked my friend to include that song in my MP3 because I didn't know how to do it myself back then. Without even knowing them, without even knowing KPOP, "Mr. Simple" was (is actually) one the songs that I had in my first MP3 cd.
As the years went by I got to know other groups that "introduced" me into the Kpop world, one of them being SuJu. I'm from Argentina, kpop wasn't that well spread and known back then. The fact that I listened to music in english was already something different. So realizing that I've been listening to Suju way before I "knew" of kpop made me so happy.
Other groups might have been the reason I got to know kpop, but Super Junior will always be my first.
And since then here is a proud ELF

I remember 2011 is the time of my struggle working in Singapore as a domestic helper at the age of 22, one of my employer tenant told me about the news of sj came to singapore and perform with many members that time and he is surprise with the popularity of sj that time. Im eager to see sj but then i have no day off or even phone that im using so being an elf since 2007, its really regretting that we are in the same country but i wasnt able to see them. Until 2019 then its my first time i met them incomplete on stage in philippine moa arena at ss8 . Its really long journey for me to see them in person its really my best day and i even cried ahhaha.
