Ncis 11x09 - "Gut Check"
At the end of a classified presentation by the SecNav, a security system detects a bug, which proves to be inside a pen on the person of the SecNav, who tells Gibbs that she attended three classified briefings yesterday. Tony contacts the National Security Agency (NSA), where he finds a two-year-old paper describing the possibility of a breach such as the one which just occurred; Gibbs and Tony meet NSA analyst Ellie Bishop, who wrote the playbook. The SecNav receives a demand for money to prevent a leak of classified information; Ellie proposes a plan, and the SecNav approves it. Ellie identifies a suspect, Stalin, and Abby elaborates; Ellie's boss at NSA dies of gunfire; Gibbs, Tony, and Ellie catch Stalin, who provides a name and an address of another suspect; the gang find him and some evidence, Ellie puts the pieces together, then Gibbs and others nail the man responsible. Gibbs tells Ellie that he wants to keep her around on a joint duty assignment.

I miss this early version of Ellie, the whole foodie, data nerd thing was fun. She was such a different character by the time she left the show.
Its almost like people change after years, involving major (traumatic) life events.... 🤷🤔

I totally agree. I still loved her, but they completely mellowed her out. By the end, she was basically the standard "attractive, butt-kicking agent", who *occasionally* would say something nerdy. While I like that she grew and changed, especially in response to the trauma she experienced, I wish they kept more of the quirky, nerdy qualities she had.
I mean a cheating husband and a dead fiance can change anyone

One thing I loved about Gibbs was as soon as he saw one of the girls before they joined his team, he knew he wanted them on his team. When he first saw Kate, saw how she was, he gave her a job by end of ep, he trusted Ziva and then th way he looked at Ellie when she introduced herself, he knew she had potential
Not just girls, he was like that with everyone. Tony, McGee(k) he saw the potential and good agents.

It was short-lived, but I loved the team of DiNozzo, McGee, and Bishop.

I enjoyed it but Kate left too early. I miss the hilarious fights she had with McGee. Her banter with DiNozzo was more of a big bully brother/lil sister angle and that was fun too. They shouldn't have killed her off and had her come back later on. I enjoyed her performances here more than on Rizzoli and Isles.
I love it in the last part of the episode, when they all come round the corner with guns ready and Ellie has the suspect on the ground in a submissive position and she just explains that she grew up with 3 older brothers.
I just watched this episode last night. Fell in love with her character in the first 20 minutes. She’s a good replacement for Kate and Zika,although I miss both of them.

I love the references to Disney’s TRON and Jeff Bridges, primarily because they inspired my favourite Filmmaking studio of all time.
Wow easy to forget Bishop was on the show for eight seasons - didn't join till season 11 - and has been gone for three years. That tells you how long the show has been on the air.

Although her talents drew gives his attention, she only earned Gibbs' respect after he learned about Rule No. 1.
This Elle Bishop was so different from the Ellie Bishop in Seaon 18.

I hope she comes back like Ziva. BTW, her name is spelled Eleanor.

I wonder why the writers didn't developed Bishop's character like in her beginnings. Like seating on the floor and thinking outside the box.
Reminded me of Carrie Matheson in Homeland.
Considering everything she went through, it's no surprise that she might have changed her behavioural patterns. Plus, we lose certain traits and quirks as we go through life and are shaped by experiences.
@@samalvey8168 I understand your take, however Bishop is a fictional character and they could have made her more interesting without dehumanizing her.

That is totally me. I do my best work on the floor with stuff scattered around me. Headphones in my ears, sometimes nothing is playing. I could go for hours, non-stop.

So let me get this right here, from reading the comments Eleanor Bishop left NCIS as well as Gibbs, Abby, Tony, Ziva & Ducky......Mind as well add in Kate & Jen.
..........So what is left of this show anymore? All is left is McGee.
The show is dead....Been dead.
With McGee in there the show could keep going forever, add in visits a few times by some of the former 'Stars' and the Viewers would be in 'Seventh Heaven's, ...🤔😢 or is that another TV show?

I liked her more than Ziva or Caitlyn
The original crew was the absolute best.
I don't miss Gibbs at all. I absolutely love Parker, he has added a lot to the show. I liked Ellie initially, but it wore off and she betrayed Gibbs and Torres, hurt him real bad. Im glad she left. Gibbs can stay gone too. Wouldn't mind De Noso (spelling,) returning but not Ziva.
The day this show got ruined and was never ever the same after.
I asked for the date and time show. Not what series had Gibbs and Bishop. Not for this crap being shown. There is a particular show, where they first meet. Period. End of request. Full stop.
Hated that character. Ruined the show.

She was the most boring character ever, I stopped watching at this point. ziva by far was wonderful. why they ever put this character in I will never understand
