Today I'm experimenting with Minecraft's new /tick command and simulating slow motion! It was recently added in the 23w43a snapshot! (There's since been a 23w43b snapshot released, but the feature was officially added in the first one) There's a lot that looks really crazy when slowed down, like the Warden, fireworks, PvP, and more! Time is linear. That is a fact. Also, you cannot change its speed and you cannot pause the universe...

Well, time is still linear with the new snapshot, because it cannot be reversed. But, you can change its speed and press pause by saying, "/tick," then freeze, unfreeze, or "rate" followed by a number.
I feel like “Hey Vsauce Knarfy here” is the most normal thing said in the history of Karfy

Could this be done in combination with swiftness and haste to create the effect that the world slows down around you, but you are (mostly) unaffected?

Maybe it is possible to have the player fall at normal speed, but if not, the lack of jumping wouldn't make it look too much less cool

If you are doing more slow-motion videos, then here's an idea.
Do the same thing you did at 3:22 and just make a chain, like the falling blocks get blown one direction, then get blown into another direction!
when i tested the sand getting launched thing it was on bedrock which might have changed the mechanics of it.
Yeah that would make sense! I think also I didn’t quite set it up right. Looking back I probably would have just gone to a desert and spawned a bunch more TNT. That probably would have done the trick.

It isn't working because it only launches sand when it's falling - it launches entities, to be exact, so ANY falling blocks. For example, if you could setup falling netherite blocks with no gravity, you could have something like a shrapnel
So, for example, do super slow tick speed, do a big cube on slabs, light TNT, break all slabs in the right moment and you have it
That final bit with the TNT gave me an idea for a minigame. Everyone has a fishing rod, and all the players start next to the TNT. It's lit, and the goal is to get away; but between fishing rods to pull people back and punching them, you have means of keeping others near it. The goal would be to get others blown up without dying yourself. Could be done elimination style, tournament style, or points based on rounds survived.
So kinda like hot potato but the bomb kills everyone and you have items

Didn't carpet mod have a /tick command that you interacted with exactly the same way (/tich freeze, /tick unfreeze, /tick rate _n_ )? So basically it convinced Mojang that Minecraft really needs this feature XD
The guy that made carpet mod (gnembom) works for them now so....
Yep! It was similar in a lot of ways, but if I remember correctly, it didn’t simulate the player in slow motion. Just the world. So this is a super fun change!

You can use the debug stick to set a Shrieker to "spawn true" and it spawns wardens even in surface.

Probably not! Once it’s fully developed and works in command blocks that’ll probably be pretty simple!

This is also cool for TAS. Tool assisted speedruns where you can do everything perfectly. Before you needed mods, but now you can film a video on lets say 1/8 speed of normal tick speed and then in editing you can speed it up by 8 times to make it seem like you did everything really fast
sounds like the mod one ultrakill players used to do a extremely precise strat for 1-4
Slow-motion sand reminds me of a Solitaire win screen and the Warden reminds me of old school horror
Imagine if Minecraft actually went visually slow-mo and put you in third person on the death screen every time you die... would be hilarious! XD

You should add hitstun to Minecraft using the tick command and see how it affects how it FEELS... to play Minecraft.
( Hitstun is where the game has a very very brief pause when the player hits something, adding impact. In most games with hitstun, the amount of time of the stun is longer for harder hits ;D )
This is why we play Minecraft. Knarfy just made it a ton more awesome with all the possibilities. Amazing vid

you know how setting your place block bind to a key on your keyboard starts to make it place stuff fast if you hold the button?

Make superhot in minecraft!! Its fast when you're moving but the second you stop, time also stops so you could have some epic battles with skeletons straight outta the matrix
Some mods would be amazing with this, especially horror mods, like from the fog or cave dweller or man from the fog

You might be able to do the sand explosion to make the sand bounce multiple times

you should get a repeating command block to summon primed TNT with no explosion delay whenever you throw a snowball then get another command block to summon snowballs on the TNT it will loop and crash

To make the sand canon you have to make the sand an entity with water and soul sand then explode it

Ideas- use /fill or /setblock to create a cube of TNT and then /summon to put a primed tnt in the middle. Finally, update the sand to make it fall right before the TNT explodes, so the sand goes in all directions.
Have an obstacle course of 10 mobs or target blocks that you all have to shoot while falling. (maybe with a firework crossbow?)
I think you misinterpreted the zombie villager one, I think he meant go from villager to zombie villager, not the other way around.
Ask specifically for ideas to do in slow motion AND in fast motion (hyper motion? super speed?)
