Thank you for your kind words. It is a song that I originated and it's one of my favorites. Pam and I traded off with songs - sometimes she'd be the originator, get the first draft, sometimes I would. Getting Eddy Ray to sing it put the icing on the cake, I think. We recorded this in my home writing studio. Cheers, JMM

Hi Phaota - Janet here. It was probably more like 1988 when it was written. It's one of my favorites and I should have provided the lyrics - I'll see if he can edit them in somewhere in the description. Thanks for liking our work - it means the world to us to be finally getting our stuff out there.
@@headlyl Hey Janet. Thanks for the reply. I understand that the song was written in 1988, but was it released in 80s or oddly not until the 1997 " Dreaming Ezekiel" album? Also, would this be considered an Eddy Ray Wolfe song since he is the lead singer or an early Fake I.D. demo?
@@Phaota I am really bad about remembering dates, but It wasn't on the Dreaming Ezekiel album - I don't think it had been written yet. The demo just sort of evolved from a writing demo to the way it is because we just kind of ran out of money to do a better version of it. It's definitely a Barlow/Minto demo. We hired Eddy Ray to sing it. This is the first time it's been widely available to be heard. The only other people who have heard it before this were producers I sent the song to.
@@headlyl I know it wasn't on the mentioned album, I was just wondering if the song was released in 1988 or 89 since it was noted to be written at that time. I'm asking these questions since I'm mainly an 80s music archiver, so know the details is important. Title wise, would think it should be "BARLOW / MINTO ft. Eddy Ray Wolfe - Love In Vain (Demo) 1988"?
This demo is sensational Edwin, congratulations on the excellent uploads! What a song my friends, what a song...

Awesome!!! Thank you Edwin
Wow!! What a song!!!
Wow just wow, this is pure aor at its peak,
Here are the lyrics to LOVE IN VAIN ....
© Janet Morrison Minto/Pamela Barlow
The wind is calling the winter in us
My heart is crying like a howling sea
Summer’s fire lies in ashes
Like the vows of love we swore we’d keep
Now I’m prayin’ you can hear me through the night
Callin’ from the crossroads of the heartbreak of my life
I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVIN’
I DON’T WANNA DEAL WITH THE PAIN
BABY WITHOUT YOU I’M NOTHIN’
AND I DON’T WANNA LOVE YOU IN VAIN
Give me one night - let me show you
Turn you gold in the candlelight
Heal the lonely strangers in us
With the tenderness I feel inside
I’m on my knees
I’ve been crazy let me make it up to you
(repeat Chorus one)
IF ONLY WE COULD FEEL JUST THE SAME
I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVIN’
AND I DON’T WANNA LOVE YOU IN VAIN
I can’t sleep
Can’t keep my mind on nothin’ else but you
I can’t quit
Now Baby tell me what am I supposed to do
I don’t wanna lose
I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVIN’
I DON’T WANNA DEAL WITH THE PAIN
BABY WITHOUT YOU I’M NOTHIN’
AND I DON’T WANNA LOVE YOU IN VAIN
(I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVIN’)
IF ONLY WE COULD FEEL JUST THE SAME
I DON’T WANNA LOSE YOUR LOVIN’
AND I DON’T WANNA PLAY A LOSIN’ GAME

I think it was around that time, but I'll ask!
