I just watched the other" streamers in cars with Maya" this morning. The whole thing for the third time. IDK why but it's such a cozy and fun setting. Genius quintiple chemistry. Nick, Melana, Maya, Chat, Austin.
Don’t forget Jim
@Ad-000 You're so right bro. Enjoying things that people produce for the purpose of being enjoyed is attached.

21:58 - Nicks face when he swallows a pill caught in 4K
Lot of overestimating drugs early on in this stream, but especially when it comes to understanding dosage and time the drugs are active-as Maya lists off the drugs and Nick and Malena’s eyes got wider and wider I laughed harder and harder.
Nick & Maya were correct about fentanyl and the addictive quality of pain meds when it comes to chronic pain over the one-time usage. There is a lot of propaganda out there. I will say, Malena’s concern about being prescribed something super addictive is currently less likely because of a bunch of laws that were passed to stop “pill mills” but have also had the consequence of reducing the drugs and amount doctors are allowed to prescribe.
But, Malena is 100% correct about the hospital stay. I have been pressured into leaving ERs more often than otherwise. The problem, unfortunately, really comes down to insurance and the fact we still don’t have single-payer healthcare.
Yes, Nick should get a test to see if and or where on the spectrum he is-Everyone is likely somewhere and it helps to better understand yourself.

These three are funny a lot of fun to watch. Nick is always playing devil's advocate. And I absolutely agree with Melina you just can't trust these doctors.

nick is so fucking funny lmaoooo
in a way you are both right about getting hooked on drugs, there is a personal bias towards it but it is very unlikely with proper doctor supervision that you will develop an addiction. that being said making sure you have a good qualified doctor is very important and following their advise is something I deeply advise.
I wanna hear this corpse husband story

Maya was held hostage in the intro I see
As someone that endures chronic pain 24/7/365 plus one every four years, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to get back on fentanyl. 100 mcg's patches made life bearable. Unfortunately, due to the unscrupulous, those of us that have to deal with chronic pain, are left to suffer.
As a medical/pharmaceutical professional, I understand that opioids (and NSAIDs to a lesser degree) feel nice and help a lot in that sense, but the side effects are so serve that there really is little reason we should use them regularly. Cannabinoid based pain relief medications are a lot safer go to for long term use considering they have little to no side effects (according to both preliminary and current research although further testing and research is required to investigate potential side effects from prolonged use over many decades.) Therapy and movement based pain relief is also accepted as far more effective than given credit for by western medicine in current literature and eastern medicine is actually being incorporated into modern medicine now more and more, the best part about these is that they basically have no side effects. I have seen wonders done for patients when combining Tai Chi/Yoga (specific to your pain and injury type), physical therapy, acupuncture, and medicinal cannabis. Some of the most promising results were in cancer patients going through experimental treatments who I was consulting for. I think most medical professionals agree that in the long term, opioids are going to have to go (outside of special situations in hospital) and a new generation of safer natural drugs and therapies will be introduced alongside personalized medicine (which is the future of medicine.) The technology already exists but the research is at a stage where only very very rich or powerful individuals are able to get access to it and have it tailored to who ever they need treated (yes by powerful I mean politicians and their families.)

I was given fentanyl in a hospital and the dose was low enough that it numbed the pain but it didn't get me high at all.
Yeah it has its uses. It is just so strong that if someone doses it incorrectly it can be deadly. I think some people think if any of it enters your body you will die as if it were cyanide or something.

Malena not everyone who is a bit odd is on the spectrum. Im odd and hyper focused on odd things all day and I'm not. I at least took an online test that says I'm not so Nick definitely isn't.
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic...maybe *I'm* on the spectrum.
AND THEN...
The fentanyl that you got offered would come in the form of a nasal spray. I have had it when my broken hand needed to be temporarily reconstructed. It's an incredibly low dosage and it's very common seeing how I got this administered in a hospital in the Netherlands. Your takes on drugs are way... way to extreme. You don't take one wiff of the good stuff and get addicted. Not even heroin would do that. The prerequisite is along the lines of poor mental health, a void that needs filling. You know what happens when an addict successfully stops taking drugs? They fill that void with a shopping addiction or something. Addiction is a mode, not something that happens to you by the means of a chemical.

That Malena take holy…
She's factually correct.
@@IrishBiteGirl 18:55 Bro Malena herself even said it's a theory and not a fact. This would also be extremely hard to prove this. I mean you can always find some specific circumstances or estimations but there's not an overall study that's been done to conclusively prove this as a fact.
America is one of the few "civilized" countries that has its healthcare system setup with profits valued over human life. Once the healthcare system, insurance, and pharmaceutical industry all get overhauled and properly regulated to focus on preserving human life and valuing all life equally (which almost always has to be done through a socialist system.)
Let me explain, doctor's make more not because the drugs make them large profits, but because pharmaceutical lobbies will pay them exorbitant amounts of money to over-prescribe these drugs alongside providing vacations in the name of "summits." Doctors get massive volumes of patients in America, so the easiest thing to do is to prescribe them their drugs and get rid of them all while getting treated real nicely by the pharmaceutical companies who hold patents and control the means of production for these drugs allowing them to have massive profit margins. Once a patient becomes an addict, they will keep coming back for more and now you have a regular customer. This is a heavily documented issue and many big players in this corrupt scheme have been arrested and prosecuted but most are still running free. This was one of the big reasons I left the pharmaceutical sector after so many years to run my own biotech company, I wanted the freedom to do the right thing without being controlled by businessmen who only cared for profits. Opioids are the big one that everyone talks about but in America we over-prescribe just about every drug, whether it be Adderall, NSAIDs, Muscle relaxers, anti-depressants or one of the hundred others.
Read this article from Dr. Safer, Daniel is a great guy I can personally vouch for him and he is one of the world's leading medical experts and teaches at Johns Hopkins Medical School: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6731049/
I can't explain the whole issue in detail because usually this entire topic will be split into 2-3 graduate lectures with seminar sessions but I think that article alone should give you a good starting point to understanding the issue, it is pretty basic stuff and I couldn't think of any good articles that get less technical off the top of my head but if you want more detail just look up more of Dr. Safer's work.
Clearly they have better education in the EU, then again, most of my students when I was at JHU were Asian.
@@ghostbravo7127 so I’m supposed to believe a random article and someone claiming on the internet that they went to John Hopkins? You’re not fooling anyone, Malena’s burner. Also, stop spamming the same essay on every thread holy
@@13Beachesss Random Article? You realize that to get your article onto the National library of medicine, you have to be a medical researcher. It is not hard, just look up Dr. Daniel J. Safer, Johns Hopkins school of medicine. The article was published in the Journal of Clinical Medicine Research which is a very highly respected peer-reviewed journal. It doesn't get more reputable than this in medical research.

@@ghostbravo7127 This is unironically the kind of comment I was looking for, thank you for the info and the link, I'll be checking Safer out now
it's medical grade fentinyl, and low dosage. But still it's weird they give you that when there's better options. BTW the pharma companies spends enormus amounts on lobbying and lawsuits (pr whatever)
Malena talking about drugs was based, that's literally how it works, if you are in the wrong place in your life and have enough predisposition to addiction then then it can be as little as one unnecessary or excessive prescription for them to justify getting more and an addiction to form; just like how a lot of alcoholics start binging or get excessively drunk their first time doing it.
TLDR: Malena is based, Nick and Maya are L pilled; if you give someone who could become an addict the tools and instructions to do so, they might.
Exactly! Thank you
Yo Charlie alveus is going to be so funny.
Maya’s hands are fucking huge wtf
No one asks another person if they want to "hold" a drug lmao. I doubt she did it but I doubt even more that it was phrased that way. 9:10
seems believable to me. she said she had never seen drugs before so he let her look at it. why is that out of the ordinary?
hate to burst their bubble but by the time he tried the ket he was most likely already on a come down. he hasn't felt the coke in hours, the weed wore of in 40 min max, someone who microdoses shrooms will be on a comedown after 2 hours, if anything he was probably a lil drunk but he seems like hes able to handle himself and space it all out as appropriate as a drug user would do.
Oh
17:40 yeah uhm, this whole discussion is pointless when half the population of your country is addicted to painpills. Like, are you serious?

40:15 Intercourse!
Malena had some good points with the prescription medication, but I think her theory makes it out to be a little worse than it is.
I think it IS a problem for some people, but not as big or as important as under prescribing. I dont think it's a major cause of addiction. It's better that someone with no self-control gets addicted than somebody with a legitimate issue go untreated.
Also, you _can_ do your own "research," but that really just amounts to looking up peer reviewed studies and comparing them against one another or other facts/statistics in context. It requires a lot more work than most people are willing to put in. Myself included, in most cases.
omg why did malena keep bringing up tha drugs scenarios… like it just kept bringing down tha whole vibe lowkey nd nick nd maya were just playing on with it trying to bring up tha mood lol…luv all of them but she just kept bringing it up like holy 😭 (btw i feel both sides are partially right/wrong)

Malena is right about the pharmaceutical industry though. Profit incentive shouldn’t be involved in healthcare
@14:00 ! what in the world are these doctors studying?? a normal antispasmodic is enough, why to go to that range?!!
a cyclopam/buscopan is enough.
I always thought US medical degree was good, now I have different opinion.
hope my doctor friends don't get negligent/dumb by studying there🤣🤣🤣🤣
and yes US medical/pharmacy industry is big bullshit. not that doctors have control over it, it's all by the administration and company owners. doctors are minion under control of these money minded people. US citizens should start going to small clinic/private practitioner.
and I'm not speaking in view of addiction, I'm speaking in terms of efficacy, side effects and cost wise.
addiction depends on person to person, personality, drugs, duration of exposure, kind of dependency (physical/ mental), stress in life etc.

Yo watup nick
Malena thinks people get addicted through one prescription. Sometimes the pain is just too much where you can't handle it. I just had a oral surgery last week Thursday they removed 4 of my front lower jaw teeth tore up my gums grafted bone then placed implants and stitched it up kinda bad. They only prescribed me Ibuprofen 800 and it was fine but by Saturday I got a bad infection by Sunday night my gums were so swollen the sutures basically tore them up more so it looked like i had something that exploded in my mouth. Monday morning I was back in the dentist office and then they sent me right away to the surgeon's office and by that time I already didn't sleep like 2 days and I was in so much pain that they had to give me something much stronger. It's Friday now I've been using what they gave me until yesterday, pain is more manageable now so I'm not using what I have left nor do I feel like I have to have it.
Maybe she's coming at it from the perspective of an ex-smoker. A lot of times, one cig is all it takes, but it's important to note that drugs are very complicated and rarely ever work the exact same way
how does that contradict what Malena said at all??
It's really a mental thing yo everybody can do drugz and a some may stop and some may not. It's all in the mental
yeah she has no understanding of the mechanisms of addiction and is just fearmongering. you don't get addicted just by intaking a drug, it's the reason why you are doing it that is the most important factor if you will get addicted or not
@@asap4bri She is saying she would not allow her child to take pain pills no matter the amount of pain because it would make the child immediately addicted... How is it not contradictory? It doesn't make you addicted so easy. It's the people who have chronic pain and use pain meds that get addicted to them not the ones who use it after an injury or a surgery for a short time until the wound heals.
