My head cannon is that Shinji was trying to trick Bambi into calling for help so he could use his bankai on them and it's why he told Konomoura to leave before fighting
I think the idea behind Cang Du's refusal to believe in Zankupato spirits is because he can't sense them. The only people aware of the spirits are Shinigami themselves
33:57 Minor correction/explanation here with regards to Cang Du's line "I don't believe in pantheism" because there's a ton of nuance jam packed into that conversation: Pantheism isn't just the belief that "the universe IS god," it's the belief that every individual object and living thing in the universe is but one small aspect of the collective whole that makes up god (aka, the universe). Similar to how your left hand (for ex) is but one small aspect of the collective whole that is you. The reason why Cang Du says "I don't believe in pantheism" there is because the dynamic between shinigami and zanpakuto is analogous to this broader concept. The zanpakuto IS the shinigami, or rather, the zanpakuto is but one small aspect of the shinigami. The zanpakuto has it's own separate identity, sure, tho collectively the two are one and the same. Cang Du is basically rejecting this collectivist perspective and saying: "Either the zanpakuto is it's own separate individual or it isn't. Since the zanpakuto came from shinigami and is inexorably tied to them, then the only individual that exists must be the shinigami. If you're talking to your zanpakuto, then you're basically just talking to yourself." There's more subtext to this conversation that's implied rather than directly said, so I don't blame anyone for thinking it sounds rather nonsensical. I certainly thought that the first time I read it back in the day.
Urahara probably suspected that Hollow powers are poisonous to Quincies ever since he saw what a hollow bite did to Masaki's soul all those years ago. Unlike the visards she didn't hollowfy but slowly started dying.
Yepp, that’s EXACTLY how he knows. As he stated, the Quincies’ Spirit Energy aka Reiatsu doesn’t have ANY Spirit Antibodies to protect against damage from Hollows. Essentially Hollows have the Innate Ability to outright poison any and all Quincies’ Spirit Energy/Soul Sleep/Soul Chain with no way to naturally fight it. Because Shinigami and Hollows are two sides of the same coin and because Shinigami DO have Innate Spirit Energy Antibodies against Hollow Damage and are the only class of being to have the potential to survive Hollowification.. This is why Isshin Shiba was able to bar Masaki’s Inner Hollow for decades because his overwhelming Shinigami Spirit Energy with natural antibodies against Hollows; was able to hold White Zangetsu back until the Auschwalsen that killed Ichigo and Uuryu’s Mothers
The pantheism bit was probably more of a disrespect towards shinigami themselves, since he believes in Yhwach, rather thana legion of death gods and their sentient swords which embody their deep ego.
"Hi there this is Kisuke. You may remember me from the hollow experiments that got me banished. I am here now, to give all of you my latest hollow experiment."
My thoughts on Cang Du are that it's not that he doesn't believe zanpakuto have their own will... it's that he doesn't believe _specifically Bankai_ have their own separate will and identity aside from just being "the zanpakuto's strongest form". Hell, _we_ didn't know anything like that was the case until relatively recently, and that was due to an interview thing. His thoughts are basically, "Okay, I get talking to your zanpakuto, but SPECIFICALLY YOUR BANKAI? REALLY!?"
To add onto that. The captains are probably reacting in a way like “give me back my friend” as they view their bankai as individual Ally’s. Cang is likely viewing them as literal weapons and is looking at them like their stupid.
Having read CFYOW, I can say there are few things you got wrong (but most of it is correct). First, it's unknown if the Soul King would have split the chaotic world by himself, as he was betrayed by the 5 Shinigami before he had the chance to. After sealing him away, they forcibly used his powers to create the worlds themselves, for different reasons each. Secondly, while the Soul King indeed did not resist being sealed (and NOBODY in the story, not even Ichibe, understands why) despite being leagues stronger than his attackers, he did most likely not agree with being mutilated on top of that; hence why Yhwach and Haschwalth believed the SK's enemies to be the Shinigami, and why the SK's reiatsu instictively attacked the Seireitei. Thirdly, the irony being that it was the SK not resisting that caused him to be mutilated. As the Shinigami couldn't grasp that the SK would cooperate and thought he was planning to betray them afterwards. Finally, it's noted that Hell is the one place not created by the Soul King, as it existed before even him. One reason the worlds were separated was to make sure Hell wouldn't be able to interact with the rest of them anymore. However, it's important to note that this is all how Ichibe decides to narrate it. It could very well that the truth may be slightly different.
It was stated the he knew the future so he probably knew he was gonna be mutilated. It was also stated that you are right it isn't clear why he didn't resist, but it's hypothesised that he either saw no way to avoid it or he saw hope in this new world and allowed it to happen. The Sk was godlike but don't forget Ichibe is just an example of one being that existed back then who has very godly power himself, perhaps all the other clan leaders from back then together were able to match him. Basically imagine 5 characters like Ichibe, Aizen and Yhwach..
I've read the TYBW arc a while ago, but its a little fuzzy, so this might be a stupid question. Does this mean that Ichibe has kind of been the "Shadow Leader" of the soul reapers since the beginning of soul society. Like is he essentially the highest authority? Or am i missing something? If so, do the captains and important figures know that? Just curious bc i remember being pretty confused when I finished the manga
@@brothermickey1152 I don't think its ever made exactly clear but here are my thoughts. The zero squad are lead by him but as we have saw they rarely intervin, so no. Most of the ruling is made by central 46, they are so to speak the parliament and the supreme court, the 13 court guards are the military force. So the 0 squad lead by him are in essence simply a special military force in charge of protecting the soul king. Also though he does not speak, the soul king does have a will which in some way he makes clear to the 0 squad, so I'd say he is still in charge to some extent.
So to answer your question, yes. Ichibe is essentially the true leader of the Soul Reapers, or at least their military forces. However, it is implied that he was granted this role by the Original 5 Heads of the Great Noble clans. Meaning that if those 5 clans agree on something, they are most likely the highest authority among the Soul Reapers. However, given that the Shiba clan has fallen from grace and the Tsunayashiro clan is pretty much dead after CFYOW, it means that Ichibe is by and large the real ruler. Also, the clan we do not know the name of was motivated by wanting to contain Hell, so we will most likely learn about them in the Hell arc.
One other thing to note about Shinji’s bankai as well, he can’t use it if ANYONE who is an ally is nearby, not unless he feels like having to fight them because part of the “flips friend and foe” thing is that while he isn’t effected, people’s perception of him is, so when he activates his bankai, all the Soldat see him as their friend whereas they look at each other and see an enemy while if any Shinigami spot him, they see someone who needs to be killed and all the Soldat nearby they seen as friends
tekking realize that mask has the peter griffin chin is a running gag i think he said that like 3 times, each time he hasnt seen mask in a while he realizes it again
Shinji was probably extra pissed at Aizen when turn back the pendulum arc happened since Shinji's bankai is switching allies and enemies. Aizen literally went like "LOL I just switched from your ally to enemy, with pure deception and only my Shikai, loser"
I like how every time Tekking says Mayuri is his favorite character, he feels like he has to state that he is a messed up person. Like yeah, that is a big reason as to why he is such a interesting character! Him being such a important part of the Gotei helps show that they are a morally gray organization. The Soul Reapers would seem way to much like standard good guys without him, he adds a really interesting dynamic to the series. Plus he is way more entertaining then most of the cast, with some of the best fights. Also, man always has Drip, haha!
Essentially what cang du is saying is that to him zanpakuto/Bankai are just physical weapons devoid of anything of a godly quality and godly quality is not just limited to divinity here but things like free will, individuality and other similar things.
Let's not forget that Cang used The Iron the the anime version of the first invasion, and he definitely showed how useful it is there for the short snippets we saw.
@@corruptangel6793 I thought the same thing. Maybe The Iron stacks with Blut Vene, making Cang an absolute juggernaut? Even if it doesn't stack, it means he could afford to keep Blut Artery up for the whole fight.
I love the Reed Richards/Doctor Doom dynamic that Kisuke and Kurotsutchi have. I guess I completely forgot that Quincy’s have no natural antibodies to hollows. Now it makes sense why quinces want to exterminate the hollows. It also makes sense now as to why they couldn’t steal Tensa Zangetsu. I thought it was because Ichigo was a Quincy. I was wrong. It’s because Tensa Zangetsu is already a hollowed bankai. I also wish we had gotten more time with Shinji’s bankai. it felt like 20 seconds. I wanted it to be 20 minutes.
You were pretty spot on with the Reio backstory, but forgot to mention the people responsible for his current state were the ancestors of the five great noble houses.
33:40 It makes sense, since Quincies doesn't have an spirit manifestation like Shinigami does. Vollstandig is just a holy form which powers them up and not a seperate being which is why Cang Du can't relate to toshiro. 41:50 This scene could be assumed to be further in the future as we don't know how long toshiro have been laying there, because the bambiette scene happens about the same timeline they all lose access to their stolen bankai so they all left her momentarily (scouting). 42:30 Tenteikura is just a communication kido (has always been), if it could teleport objects its a retcon. Teleporting kido in this setting is forbidden (Kūkanten'i), so its wierd how Urahara managed to give byakuya one when he is in soul king palace which no one can enter unless the zero squads gives permission or he possess an Oken.
tbf it seems pretty clear from this and the first invasion that the quincy "fodder" soldiers are on the level of like a 4th or 5th seat officer in the gotei
Thank you for the in depth break down of a wonderful episode. It's a blessing to learn from what you have established in your dedication for Anime/Manga.
Soldat doing good work keeping the vice captains busy. Whatever training program the Quincy have must be better than the shinigami one Seeing shinjis bankai I wonder if we'll see shuhei using his during the time he falls for a man in a diaper against Byakuya I'd be cool with that. Can't wait for the Bambi komomura fight. That will hopefully look amazing depending on how the bankai looks
They seem amped compared to the manga. The manga seemed to put them at 3rd seat level max. There's a point when Omeada is running from a squad of them while carrying Soi-Fon, and he says he wouldn't be struggling against them if he didn't have to keep her safe. Implying the Vice-Captains are significantly stronger and could take on multiple Soldat at a time under normal circumstances.
I think you missed 2 points: 1) I believe Shinji was intentionally teasing Bambietta to get her friends, so he could unleash his bankai again. That would also explain why Shinji was totally fine letting Komamura go for Yhwach. 2) I believe when Shunsui gave those soul tickets to Ichigo's friends, he was also preparing for situation where Ichigo would had to become next Soul King. Realistically I can't think any othet circumstances where Ichigo wouldn't be able to visit the World of the Living, given how both Aizen and Yamamoto were able to be there at least for a while.
Shinji getting so much glow here using his bankai finally which looked awesome then using his shikai playing around with Bambi awesome stuff plus Toshiro and Soi fon getting their bankai back right in time with hollowed forms looked dope and Ichigo having the toughest walk of all time xD
I think that what Ceng Du was actually thinking about was more Animism (or maybe Polytheism, somehow?), but the writers/translators just used the wrong word lol (or maybe the character himself confused Pantheism for Animism)
A couple things. First, we can see the difference in how the Hollow Pills interact with the different Shinigami. We see Omaeda touch it and it just disintegrates without merging with him, however, we see the pills disintegrate around Toshiro and Soi Fon alongside a yellow glow. Interestingly, we know that Hisagi was in the presence of a pill, but we don't get to see how it interacts with him. Ditto for Yumichika. Urahara knew for a long time that Hollows were the weakness of Quincy, but him seeing the reaction of Quilge was what made him realize that they could use that weakness to specifically target the stolen Bankai. What's funny to me is that it's Mayuri bringing this up now, which Kisuke has to confirm, showing that Mayuri is still steps behind. The Cang Du stuff is weird... I get the idea that he doesn't believe Bankai have a will of their own. From his perspective he was able to steal it and there was no chance that he gained the spirit. From what it seems, when the Bankai is stolen, the spirit itself is either broken or sealed. Toshiro still has access to Shikai, after all, which implies the spirit doesn't leave with the Bankai. So, Cang has little perspective. The whole 'God' thing is clearly because Cang, like the other Quincy, see Yhwach as 'God'... but him comparing the idea of Yhwach with the idea of Bankai is where that falls apart. I find it great that Shinji blatantly sends Komamura away from Bambi while taunting Bambi abut her friends. He's clearly trying to get her to call her friends back so he can enter a 1-v-5 fight, in which he could freely use his Bankai again... it just doesn't work. And, I absolutely disagree with your perspective on Bambietta. Her power isn't throwing out explosives, it's turning your own powers into explosives. It completely negs durability, to the point where you can't even block her attacks because they just turn your defense into an explosive. This is shown even when character try to block with their own Zanpakuto. If not for Komamura literally being immortal here, she would have run roughshod over the Seireteii. The only others that could reasonably take her are Shunsui (with his Bankai) or Kenpachi.
i think of the proper relationship as being sorta soul reapers hunt hollows, hollows hunt quincies, quincies were meant to hunt hell's occupants to keep the energy from building up like it did in the hell chapter, and hell's residents hunt soul reapers. each part regulating the next in the cycle.
Thing with Cang Du is maybe he’s like Kenpachi. Kenpachi just didn’t believe Zanpakuto had a mind of their own despite being around other Shinigami who believed it Also it’s pronounced like “San-du” the “Ca” in Chinese makes an “s” sound. Like Cao Cao
About the Reio, you are mostly correct but I'll add few things. It was stated that indeed he did not resist but it was said that it is unclear if he did so because with his almighty power (that allowed him to see the future) he saw no possible way to avoid it or because he "detected some kind of hope in the the new world". Also, he did create the world of the living, Soul society and Hueco Mundo, but not Hell, which seems to imply it existsed even before him. Another point that supports it is that the leader of the unknown noble clan wanted to use the power of the Reio to "cover the pit that would later become known as Hell". If Kubo ever continues the Hell arc, then then these little hints might prove relevant, at the very least they are fun little lore facts about the bleach world.
All the different colors for the vol standig looks nice. Hopefully they don't just execute cang and bg9 that's such a lame trope of the bad guys killing their own soldiers who are still strong enough to be meat shields
I like how it is used in this case. For Haschwalth, it's about balancing the scales of war. For Yhwach, they committed blasphemy. By falling so in love with the Soul Reaper's power over their own God-given power that they got themselves killed, they don't deserve to be revived by their Volsterndigs. Furthermore, all Quincy are ultimately food for Yhwach. It doesn't matter if a few die now or later. He will get stronger and thus closer to achieving his goal. They all live and die for His Majesty. So why shouldn't they be killed? Meat shields? Irrelevant. They're better off being turned into Yhwach's power.
@@corruptangel6793 it still doesn't give a reason to unreasonably cut your own forces by wasting your own time and giving your enemy more time. The Quincy turn on juha immediately and while they suck they still waste enough time that could have been used to hold back the shinigami. Especially cang du and bg9 they only got frozen and blown up. Aizen didn't immediately waste the espada when this exact thing happened and used them to keep Ichigo busy in hueco Mundo
@@ivanbluecool I gave you 3 reasons. As for the theatrics, this is a God-King we're talking about. Yhwach has shown many times that he enjoys a bit of theater. Remember his introduction? He was trolling those two arrancar the entire scene. Aizen had no reason to waste the Espada right away. Yhwach was outraged and had no reason not to. The fact he didn't use Auswählen on all the Quincy the day before the start of the war then solo everyone with the collective power of the Quincy and their Schrifts was purely put of his "benevolence." Like I said, they live and die for His Majesty. And those are Haschwalth's own words. Any whim Yhwach has is a perfect reason or excuse to execute one of the Quincy.
@@corruptangel6793 and all of them were nonsense and make juha a trope villain. Doesn't counter my points just prove them true. Seriously they managed to break out of the ice and bomb yet haschwald had enough time to leave to kill them instead of finish the head captain. That only diverted their resources and again Giselle exists and that zombie somehow understands using soldiers more than juha does while the two heads don't It all really shows juha was a standard moustache twirling villain from the start even if you say he used them for power. They could have taken out more shinigami or weaken them and we already see juha loses so a couple changes could have offered him a win or some back up
@ivanbluecool like I said, I like how the tropes were used in this case. It was a good twist on the usual aspects. He didn't kill them simply because they were weak or lost, but because of WHY they lost. And he put a WAR on hold, just to make a show of their execution purely because he can. I love the sheer audacity of that. If you don't like it, that is your prerogative, but it wasn't for no reason. Also, there's no reason Giselle couldn't have turned them into Zombies. That is actually something I never thought of before. They were executed, not erased. Their corpses should still be there. Logically, why didn't she turn them into more zombie soldiers? That could be a cool addition on the anime for her zombie battle with Mayuri. I doubt they'll do it, but it would be cool.
There are 3 ways to become a Captain. Only one requires showing off Bankai. Plus, he could probably explain what it is, and then they use a special room with mod souls or something for him to demonstrate while they remain safe behind some form of protection. Simply going into a room and activating Bankai in front of 3 Captains sounds very foolish and a great way to get someone killed
Actually, the shape of Sakanade doesn't reverse in his Bankai. If you look closely at that scene when the camera zooms out and Shinji lowers his hand after cutting down the soldat, you can actually see both the ends of the blade (the tip and the hilt) having that circular shape. Pretty neat.
As a wrestling fan i had a lot of fun with mask de masculine, him referring to hisagi and the others as the undercard. In fact i think that hisagi saying that they were going to have a chain death match might have been a reference to japanese pro wrestling having a bug niche for "deathmatch wrestling".
the way i understood cang du's whole "i don't believe in pantheism" thing was that he sees yhwach as his one and only god, like how he and the quincy idolize yhwach as their god. idk thats jus how i saw it
Shinji using his Bankai on the Bambis would be fun. Since it also makes them view enemies as allies they'd all view Shinji as an ally, I can picture them all getting mad at each other for almost hitting Shinji and getting mad at Shinji for not helping them, just all sorts of funny interactions there.
If Shinji could move with his Bankai it would be beyond busted I'm pretty sure using his Bankai on the Bambi's WAS Shinji's plan but using it on the Soldat does at least address how they kinda just vanish with no explanation in the manga and it's just the Sternritter after a point, now we know what happened to them Shinji whipped out their entire vanguard
I heard Masahiro takes a lot of them out as well, according to one of the light novels. A lot of Soldat attack the academy, and Kensei sends her to protect them.
I think ikkaku would be less reserved about using his bankai when he learns his captain achieves shikai and bankai, and actually uses them. Not to mention it's completely different for ikkaku than for yumichika, ikakkus zanpakuto is a brawler type, only relying on spiritual energy to improve sword combat, similar to kenpachi vs yumichika where his true zanpakuto ability is kido based, something squad 11 frowns upon. I see ikkaku revealing his bankai before yumichika ever even hints at his zanpakuto having a different ability than the Fuji kujaku release
My head cannon goes like this: the other 4 Bambis leave Bambieta alone because they managed to sense Shinji's Bankai. They must know 1) what does his Bankai do, due to the daten and 2) that they can't steal it because of him being a bizzord. Hence they leave her alone when they sense Shinji approach so that he can't make them kill each other and since she couldn't sense him that's why Candice calls her Dumb.
TBF, Bazz B being a rebel makes sense when you consider his backstory of trying to kill Yhwach from within his own army. It makes the whole "friendly fire" thing (no pun intended) more justifiable, especially since he was the one doing it the most outta all the Sternritters.
For the SK part we don't know if he volunteered to be the linchpin. I don't think he did because the Shiba head made plan to sacrifice himself instead of the SK. And yes Ichibei was there.
@christianpadiernos5180 based on Kisuke's explanation, they can. It's not necessarily safe, but if Quilge can absorb Aion, there's no reason that they couldn't absorb a Vizard's bankai if they were willing to risk it. All it would've taken is one sternritter to say it's worth the price to basically solo the SS. That said, not how that would work. Once Shinji uses bankai, theyd perceive him as their ally. Why would you steal your Ally's bankai?
@@matt6870 and Ichigo's zanpakuto has been a hollow from the very start due to being the manifestation of White. That is not the case for any other Vizard in the series. All of them had acquired Zanpakuto, and in several case, Bankai, long before being Hollowfied. These are not remotely the same situation. Kensei made precautions (teaching Shuhei Bankai) in case his was stolen. Kisuke, who researched the device responsible for stealing them, made sure to send the hollow pills to the vizards. Those two points alone indicate that the Vizards were not immune to their Bankai being stolen. So given we have evidence to suggest they could be stolen and Ichigo's case is specifically different from them, I see no reason to assume that because Ichigo, who had a Hollow that became a Zanpakuto, it must automatically mean that any and all Vizards who were hollowed after the fact would be immune.
Soi Fon’s bankai was the best not gonna lie, I can’t believe I got hyped for Soi Fon! Also there is one little mistake from Cang Du saying to Toshiro that this is his first time seeing his Bankai from that side but when he stole it the first time he was in Bankai and Toshiro even tells him that it’s unusable when Yama evaporated all the water.
I thought Soi Fon's bankai looked smaller, but it could have been an oversight. Even if urahara was sealed couldn't Tessai just let him out? Tessai was Hachi's captain
The hollow- quincy explanation explains why the KurosakinSiblings did not manifest Quincy abilities. Since White infecting Masaki basically nerfed the quincy dna they should have inhereted by genetics.
I’m sure Robert Shrift is something related to « blindspot » but I don’t know what word could describe this with letter « N ». He always seems to outspeed his opponent when he shoot, like an autopilot skill to directly shoot the target and what he was aiming without missing. He also did that to Ichigo (even tho Ichigo reacted to it)
A question I had about the pills was how in the hell did Byakuya get his? Cause you can see As Nodt looking at his medallion as it leaves I guess. Byakuya is all the way up in the soul palace right now. Did urahara somehow send one to him and renji both? Plus did rukia get one of them too? What about Hisagi?
They sabotaged the quincy tech allowing them to use Tenteikūra (kido) from the lab so they locate the spiritual pressure of every captain inside and outside of seireitei. How they got those pills teleported is a mystery unless Tenteikūra can teleport objects to specific locations, or specifically the lab version of that kido. Presumably Urahara could have contacted rukia, renji or Byakuya with the denreishinki or forshadowing Urahara having special privileges to access Soul king palace. Its very hard to say as this was the least explained event in the manga, and was hoping the anime could have gone further with explaining more in details. Maybe it gets brought back up again in anime canon, but who knows. Hisagi got his hollow pill (it was shown), and the same with the other lieutenants (everyone received despite if they didn't have a bankai).
@@WieldMyWord Remember that Urahara has, very likely, been to the palace, or, at least, seen it VERY closely. He in fact based his healing springs (the ones in the hideout Yoruichi took Ichigo to train for Bankai) on the Kirinji ones.
@@WearyWeaver Yeah maybe, he did mention it was something he tried to build back in SS. We don't know what cour 3 and 4 is going to do in the anime, but maybe Urahara will be more involved in the story compared to the manga, etc.
My thing with byakuya bankai i think is that since he is training with the sword god and the god of names he just ripped his bankai from the medallion with his power since his shikai was at the same scale as his bankai so than it wasn't a true bsnkai anymore and went back. Maybe
the single best thing they could have done with momo in the thousand year blood war is to have yewach kill momo, only for kyoka suigetsu to deactivate and it's actually hashwalth or something. that would be the ultimate fuck you and it would absolutely be something aizen would do just because.
I'm wondering if they confused pantheism with just polytheism. And I think the intention would be to say that the only g-d is Yhwach. But that still isn't a reason to deny that Bankai have wills.
About hollows being a poison to Quincies. If that's true then how Uryuu survived being gutted with Zangetsu on HM dome ? How he survived AT ALL the whole Hueco Mundo arcs ?
Because Uryu isn't a pure quincy. His mother was Gemecht. The basic idea is that Echt quincy don't have any resistance to Hollow reishi. Gemecht have been 'tainted' by ordinary humans. They have some resistance to hollows, as Ryuken comments that the Gemecht soldiers are the ones to fight when the soul reapers die in Everything But the Rain. So Uryu has enough resistance to not die to a minor wound in Arrancar Arc, and while he probably would've died after Hollow Ichigo nearly killed him, he also had Orihime to literally undo the injury on a conceptual level, so he probably could've survived that even as an Echt.
Well they are 2 easy answers: 1. Orihime healing him. 2. Uryuu isn't pureblood Quincy, which means that his human part should provide some resistance to Hollows.
tanya the evil is literally talking to god and telling him that he/she doesnt believe in god lol and it would have ofc worked against the bambies, he even tries to goat them out "he asks her if she needed help from her friends" after he takes over from komamura
While I loved seeing Shinji's bankai, they way they used it made it too obvious it was literally just there to ''show it off real quick''. There's enough Sternritter to repurpose 2 of them for Shinji's bankai reveal, because the way it was done now (while still being super awesome to see) it just didn't have any impact
It would make to keep it this brief if they use it again. So this would in that case be the teaser before the later main event. Though I have no hopes he'll use it again
I know you want to see Ikaku use his Bankai, but he can't. His one time using it, it was broken to pieces. Unless he could do something with the broken parts, he'd have to have someone else fix it. Aside from the zero division and Mayur (and presumably Urahara) we don't have proof that anyone else can fix or modify it.
it's so funny because Shuhei's bankai is a perfect counter to Mask the Superstar could make Mask as strong as he wants infinitely but Fuushi no Kojyou will still equalize that power regardless
Pantheonism is the belief in multiple gods like the greeks believed. Pantheism is the belief that the universe is god. I think Cang Du was saying he only believes in one god, Ywach and the translation was a bit off. He's still a little edgelord but It makes his dialogue make more sense.
Except the pill didn't react to him. Kisuke sent them out to all captain and vice-captain level shinigami. but only to those with bankai did it respond (like Ikkakku's ) it didn't react to Yumichika or Omaeda who could just pick it up but nothing happened. But i'm glad to be wrong on this
@@cameronclophus7998 I think in case that person had a bankai or the person close who does, was injured (like Soifon when it went to Omaeda, he doesn't have Bankai either)
actually, thinking about it, wouldn't Shinji's bankai be a natural counter to Mask de Masculine? Or would it not count for some reason like James and Mask are like considered 'one entity' (tbh I don't even remember if that's true)?
My head cannon is that Shinji was trying to trick Bambi into calling for help so he could use his bankai on them and it's why he told Konomoura to leave before fighting
Not really head canon. He even taunted Bambi to call for her friends to help her before saying she must not have any.
That’s exactly what he was doing.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. It’s so smart 😂
It's the logical thing to assume that
I think the idea behind Cang Du's refusal to believe in Zankupato spirits is because he can't sense them. The only people aware of the spirits are Shinigami themselves
33:57 Minor correction/explanation here with regards to Cang Du's line "I don't believe in pantheism" because there's a ton of nuance jam packed into that conversation:

If you're talking to your zanpakuto, then you're basically just talking to yourself."
There's more subtext to this conversation that's implied rather than directly said, so I don't blame anyone for thinking it sounds rather nonsensical. I certainly thought that the first time I read it back in the day.
Cang du just had his little the blade is me moment hehe
This is why Isshin Shiba was able to bar Masaki’s Inner Hollow for decades because his overwhelming Shinigami Spirit Energy with natural antibodies against Hollows; was able to hold White Zangetsu back until the Auschwalsen that killed Ichigo and Uuryu’s Mothers
i think he knew even before that. that how he was instantly able to notice what was happening to masaki & began working on a way to save her life.
"I did not do those Hollowficaton experiments... anyway here is my latest Hollowficaton experiment."

Wheres yoruichi with the leppard claws
Yeah it's like saying goku is "friends" with ssj2 it would make no sense at all
Having read CFYOW, I can say there are few things you got wrong (but most of it is correct).
@@brothermickey1152
I don't think its ever made exactly clear but here are my thoughts.
He wasn't betrayed, he knew what the ancestors would do to him
Momo vs Yhwach. I’d pay to see that. Mostly cuz I wanna see how she’ll somehow unreasonably survive.
You didn’t know she’s a Quincy…sternritter L-the lucky
she'd survive cuz yhwach wouldn't take her seriously, aizen went ouf of his way to harm her.
@@jahjohnson31she stole Robert’s schrift of “N” it stand for “the never-dying”
Nah man she will find a way to screw over Toshiro again
Then aizen shows up and momo thinks he's there to save her. Until he says, " Yuha, I'm the only one who gets to kill momo"
Pantheism is not just the believe that the universe and in mechanics are God, but it's also the believe of many gods
One other thing to note about Shinji’s bankai as well, he can’t use it if ANYONE who is an ally is nearby, not unless he feels like having to fight them because part of the “flips friend and foe” thing is that while he isn’t effected, people’s perception of him is, so when he activates his bankai, all the Soldat see him as their friend whereas they look at each other and see an enemy while if any Shinigami spot him, they see someone who needs to be killed and all the Soldat nearby they seen as friends
tekking realize that mask has the peter griffin chin is a running gag i think
he said that like 3 times, each time he hasnt seen mask in a while he realizes it again
Shinji was probably extra pissed at Aizen when turn back the pendulum arc happened since Shinji's bankai is switching allies and enemies. Aizen literally went like "LOL I just switched from your ally to enemy, with pure deception and only my Shikai, loser"
Couldn't he then just use his bankai to switch them back to allies?
Do you think he ever bothered to learn Blut Vene? It's kind of redundant with that schrift
My headcanon is that Shinji was asking Bambietta to call the Bambies so he can use his Bankai to take them all down.
You were pretty spot on with the Reio backstory, but forgot to mention the people responsible for his current state were the ancestors of the five great noble houses.
Who are the five?
Iba, the Future Captain of Squad 7 is struggling against a fodder Soldat....
Must have been one heck of a Soldat... Future Stern Ritter if Yhwach had survived the end of yhe war .
tbf it seems pretty clear from this and the first invasion that the quincy "fodder" soldiers are on the level of like a 4th or 5th seat officer in the gotei
1:00:09 the post credit scene with ichigo was my favorite part of the episode
Thank you for the in depth break down of a wonderful episode. It's a blessing to learn from what you have established in your dedication for Anime/Manga.
Soldat doing good work keeping the vice captains busy. Whatever training program the Quincy have must be better than the shinigami one
Seeing shinjis bankai I wonder if we'll see shuhei using his during the time he falls for a man in a diaper against Byakuya I'd be cool with that.
I think you missed 2 points:
1) I believe Shinji was intentionally teasing Bambietta to get her friends, so he could unleash his bankai again.
V good episode, love shinji’s bankai
Shinji getting so much glow here using his bankai finally which looked awesome then using his shikai playing around with Bambi awesome stuff plus Toshiro and Soi fon getting their bankai back right in time with hollowed forms looked dope and Ichigo having the toughest walk of all time xD
I think that what Ceng Du was actually thinking about was more Animism (or maybe Polytheism, somehow?), but the writers/translators just used the wrong word lol (or maybe the character himself confused Pantheism for Animism)
This is what I was thinking as well.
Animism is the belief that all things have a soul, which seems to be what Cang Du objects to.
the music in this arc is great but I was horribly disappointed they got rid of Escalon. That song was f*ckin amazing.
The "you dont know ______, i know _______" bit manages to get me every time
Stern Ritter "N" The "No-Scope"
About dammm time man I been waiting for this.
Correction burning full finger not burner finger five.
They took his brain to, CFYOW reveals that Grimmy was the Rio's brain. Which was used to make one of the antagonist of CFYOW.
I just love the idea that the moment Shinji could, he found as many of the Sternritter foot soldiers, and was just bankai-ing them.
i think of the proper relationship as being sorta soul reapers hunt hollows, hollows hunt quincies, quincies were meant to hunt hell's occupants to keep the energy from building up like it did in the hell chapter, and hell's residents hunt soul reapers. each part regulating the next in the cycle.
Thing with Cang Du is maybe he’s like Kenpachi. Kenpachi just didn’t believe Zanpakuto had a mind of their own despite being around other Shinigami who believed it
Also it’s pronounced like “San-du” the “Ca” in Chinese makes an “s” sound.
The fact he didn't use Auswählen on all the Quincy the day before the start of the war then solo everyone with the collective power of the Quincy and their Schrifts was purely put of his "benevolence."
Like I said, they live and die for His Majesty.
That only diverted their resources and again Giselle exists and that zombie somehow understands using soldiers more than juha does while the two heads don't
It all really shows juha was a standard moustache twirling villain from the start even if you say he used them for power.
Really makes you wonder how Shinjis captain exam went considering you need use your bankai in front of like 3 captains.
In cour 1 the part where Mayuri and ichigo talk about the damaged bankai, specifically the part about Ikkaku, was cut out unfortunately
Good. Hopefully they rework his bankai and make him repair it with the blood of his enemies
I actually think I heard it was on that little information card that appeared in the middle of that episode
Was waiting for this 🤲🤲🤲
Almighty Ichigo is a crazy addition
excited to see what we get out of that relating to the soul king
the way i understood cang du's whole "i don't believe in pantheism" thing was that he sees yhwach as his one and only god, like how he and the quincy idolize yhwach as their god. idk thats jus how i saw it
20:52 idk why tekking forgot that urahara already knew this because he save ichigos mother using a shinigami/hollow/soul reaper balance
Yess just in time for dinner haha I've been waiting for a new BANKAST episode!
If Shinji could move with his Bankai it would be beyond busted
I'm pretty sure using his Bankai on the Bambi's WAS Shinji's plan but using it on the Soldat does at least address how they kinda just vanish with no explanation in the manga and it's just the Sternritter after a point, now we know what happened to them Shinji whipped out their entire vanguard
I heard Masahiro takes a lot of them out as well, according to one of the light novels. A lot of Soldat attack the academy, and Kensei sends her to protect them.
Robert acutron letter N the “Near”
I think ikkaku would be less reserved about using his bankai when he learns his captain achieves shikai and bankai, and actually uses them. Not to mention it's completely different for ikkaku than for yumichika, ikakkus zanpakuto is a brawler type, only relying on spiritual energy to improve sword combat, similar to kenpachi vs yumichika where his true zanpakuto ability is kido based, something squad 11 frowns upon. I see ikkaku revealing his bankai before yumichika ever even hints at his zanpakuto having a different ability than the Fuji kujaku release
Cang Du's ability is just a hollows Hierro lol
Yessir been waiting for this 🥰
My head cannon goes like this: the other 4 Bambis leave Bambieta alone because they managed to sense Shinji's Bankai.
You don't know garp I know garp

@christianpadiernos5180 based on Kisuke's explanation, they can. It's not necessarily safe, but if Quilge can absorb Aion, there's no reason that they couldn't absorb a Vizard's bankai if they were willing to risk it.
All it would've taken is one sternritter to say it's worth the price to basically solo the SS. That said, not how that would work. Once Shinji uses bankai, theyd perceive him as their ally. Why would you steal your Ally's bankai?
@@PhantomNull13They can't take a Vizard Bankai. We literally see it happen with Ichigo.
Nice video dude!!
the whole reason Ichigo was out a month was Urahara was locked up in a barrier

I’m sure Robert Shrift is something related to « blindspot » but I don’t know what word could describe this with letter « N ».

My thing with byakuya bankai i think is that since he is training with the sword god and the god of names he just ripped his bankai from the medallion with his power since his shikai was at the same scale as his bankai so than it wasn't a true bsnkai anymore and went back. Maybe
Komamura's new armor makes him look like Samus Aran

the single best thing they could have done with momo in the thousand year blood war is to have yewach kill momo, only for kyoka suigetsu to deactivate and it's actually hashwalth or something.
that would be the ultimate fuck you and it would absolutely be something aizen would do just because.
That would've been cool

Well they are 2 easy answers:
1. Orihime healing him.
2. Uryuu isn't pureblood Quincy, which means that his human part should provide some resistance to Hollows.
Also vastolorde is an arrancar not pure hollow
the shinji shikai ost is not made for bleach
its from the composers album which is neat
tanya the evil is literally talking to god and telling him that he/she doesnt believe in god lol
and it would have ofc worked against the bambies, he even tries to goat them out "he asks her if she needed help from her friends" after he takes over from komamura
Your definition of pantheism is actually the definition of "animism"
While I loved seeing Shinji's bankai, they way they used it made it too obvious it was literally just there to ''show it off real quick''. There's enough Sternritter to repurpose 2 of them for Shinji's bankai reveal, because the way it was done now (while still being super awesome to see) it just didn't have any impact
Big agree. It was cool to see him speak backwards for mind games and the OST was great. But I definitely would have preference a larger spectacle
Eru Ilúvatar mentioned in a Bleach video 💙
it's so funny because Shuhei's bankai is a perfect counter to Mask
the Superstar could make Mask as strong as he wants infinitely but Fuushi no Kojyou will still equalize that power regardless
Pantheonism is the belief in multiple gods like the greeks believed. Pantheism is the belief that the universe is god. I think Cang Du was saying he only believes in one god, Ywach and the translation was a bit off. He's still a little edgelord but It makes his dialogue make more sense.
Think Yumichika has Bankai as well because there were two pills
Except the pill didn't react to him. Kisuke sent them out to all captain and vice-captain level shinigami. but only to those with bankai did it respond (like Ikkakku's ) it didn't react to Yumichika or Omaeda who could just pick it up but nothing happened. But i'm glad to be wrong on this
@@DarkShuyin hmmm wonder why one was sent then
@@cameronclophus7998 I think in case that person had a bankai or the person close who does, was injured (like Soifon when it went to Omaeda, he doesn't have Bankai either)
actually, thinking about it, wouldn't Shinji's bankai be a natural counter to Mask de Masculine? Or would it not count for some reason like James and Mask are like considered 'one entity' (tbh I don't even remember if that's true)?
I'm fairly certain they're one person.
