- Forget rides. Forget theming. It's all about the mall, baby! This month we're talking about Downtown Disney, the surrounding mall outside of Disneyland's gates. Let us share our stories of this sandwich-heavy shopping destination...
16:36 Mario 64 mentioned just as Luigi walks in the background!
Ryan is in the Galactic StarCruiser episode. How quick we are to forget…
Ahhh, Rocco "Not a Tiki Guy" Botte at it again
“East Coast had their own problems…” holy frick I laughed too hard at work
The added laugh track works really well in this video.
I feel it in my bones, this is going to be the best podcast on Disney springs ever
Couldn't help but notice there's a kid in the back doing cartwheels without fail. Props to the kid lol. 8:19 onwards.
Came here to smoke, stayed for the VR Troopers talk.
Tree of Life has an abstract/ambient quality to it that made it interesting but often those moments felt too long. The beginning and end of time parts were borderline stock footage compilations that bored me to death
He drinks a tiki drink, he drinks a slushie drink
The company that invented/started/whatevered the Rainforest Cafe, Schussler Creative is from Minnesota and on one of their buildings is a Mickey Mouse sign - when I was little I thought it was a Disney store.
After seeing Rocco do that head shake for ear relief I feel seen.
The anxiety you get from the ear thing is horrendous. Once I got an earplug (for tinnitus) stuck deep down into my ear and being able to feel it in there while panicking.. ugh!
I miss Tracey Tree and the Rainforest Cafe.
Thank you big Rocc
This is me erasure, and that's my least favorite type of erasure.
Tree of Life is my favorite movie of all time
One of my favorite moments was walking back from Trader Sam's back to the Anaheim Marriott during Gamedays, with a bunch of new friends we made earlier that day. This was the Saturday night before the big Sunday park day.
We were all a bit tipsy and kept singing the beginning to "Woody's Roundup" for some dumb reason and it was the funniest thing ever at the time to my drunk ass.
I can't hear the opening notes of that song without laughing now.
I honestly would love a whole trader Sam’s ep but you covered it here
LEGO is fun for building your own creations once you're bored of a set you've built!
It's almost like qtips are not designed to go in your ear and do nothing but harm
tree of life had good shots
I liked Tree if Life 🧬 I find myself Whispering "Father.. mother.." when I stare into my hand blocking the Sun.
Creepy Old Crypt: Cars Land vs every other attempt to put Pixar in the parks
Would really love to see you cover the canoes/train/monorail/trams and disneys history of functional transportation within the parks. Disney world might be a better place for that though given the logistics of the resort.
Always great to hear your takes in these.
Bro where did Johnny get that badass Area 51/Maximum Force shirt someone please tell me
Rip rain forest cafe :/
I didn't even realize the theatre was gone, granted it's been a few years since I've been. I remember seeing Battle of Gods there an a nearly empty theatre, which was pretty nice compared to other anime movies I've seen in packed theatres.
I think the DL Rainforest Cafe closed in 2018 when they were going to build that fourth resort right there. It was supposed to be demolished but the whole project fell through. More modern Disney mismanagement.
Thank you Rocco, probably the best review of Tree of Life. I only saw it because it was nominated for best picture. Hated it so much after watching, but think about it from time to time.
Earl of Sandwich praise 🤢 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 notice how Jersey Jonny is completely silent that entire convo while Rocco & Kevin gush over crap sandwiches. Jonny's leg is shaking like he is holding back being triggered about awful sandwich takes.
we love you rocco
Ryan was on the Star Wars hotel episode.
hmmm I don’t remember that
Great podcast guys! Did y'all see Tony Baxter on Bob Gurr's podcast last week?
That was so good! Everyone here should watch that
I'd love to hear a Tokyo Disney centric episode if that hasn't been done yet!
26:22 real life tony hawk secret tape holy SHIT

Rocco ❤
I actually hung out at the brewery a few times when I was there in 2019. It's a good spot to sit and unwind, and as a craft beer enthusiast there were some things I wouldn't get on the east coast, but it's ultimately a franchise and strongly has that feeling to it. So it serves a purpose solidly but you're not missing out by not going.
Oh, another anecdote. I concur that Rainforest Cafe is pretty bad... I liked it as a kid but was roped into going at Animal Kingdom in 2018 and found it nearly inedible. However, last February I was there for my nephew's first birthday and got a special they had that was shockingly good. I think a number of us were pleasantly surprised, in fact. Not someplace I care to go back to again but figured I'd give my $.02.
Agreed @@timrattray
Johnny is really from NJ? And he's constantly cold in california? All im saying is... suspicious...
i’ve been thru downtown disney (orlando) twice. last time was back in march, very nice no doubt however i like the universal citywalk a bit more, but i’ve oddly never had the time to rly explore that compared to downtown disney. got a fire tekken shirt from disney’s uniqlo store which was rly cool tho
Kind of related to Downtown Disney, have you guys talked about the upcoming expansion that's supposed to spill into that area?
These guys don't age
41:20 made me like, subscribe, and share this video
