Nice video! Finally a restoration channel with common hand tools. Most restoration channels sand-blast everything, lathes, CNCs..etc (they are great of course, but not everyone has their tools).

Nice job on that tool. That is one of those tools that you may use once or twice in a life time, but when you need one, it is a life saver. You did a great refurbishing project there. Thumbs Up!
Holy crap! Finally! Someone who actually gets into all the small places!! Please tell me you also get into the eyes of axe heads and linseed oil the ENTIRE handle from top to bottom before hanging? People miss that all the time and act proud while rust slowly starts to eat the inside of their axe heads again...
Jonathan Gibson everything is bare metal though it’s more interesting for the video to paint it otherwise you’re just wire wheeling an old tool which isn’t much to do.
I use them instead of a pipe wrench. They seem to grip better and are easy to adjust to the size of pipe your working on. They make a good oil filter wrench also. But anything you can get the chain around and into the locking notch you can get a good grip to turn it.
These restoration videos are quickly becoming something I watch on a daily basis. Honestly very relaxing. Keep it up 🤙. Also, I know you speed up most of these a teeny bit, and I don’t know how often you upload; but I would be interested in seeing at least one video a month where it just regular speed.
Bloody beautiful mate, love it !! You have a fantastic eye for detail. And that sir turns a good restoration to a "great" restoration. Keep up the great work.
I found one of those years ago that had been left out to rust. The chain was as stiff as a poker. I put the whole thing in the wood stove until it was cherry red ! ! I still have it, and the chain now moves freely, but I've never tried to use it. How might I restore the temper?
Fantastic! I was really not expecting much from this one, and yet it might be my favorite of your videos. An easily overlooked tool, and you brought it back to full beauty. Never seen drill press table used like that. #throwawaythethrowawayculture
Cool and helpful tool. I just used one myself, but with a belt instead of a chain.
you are amazing bro.I'm a subscriber of your channel.
Yes it is, you make it?
@@gear_show no no, i used it for my current project.
my mechanics awesome video, just one question, what liquid do you use in min 8, to remove dust from the chain?
@my mechanies, okay l wait to see it in your new video.
Pleasee don't forget to show the usage from the tools in each video! :)
Yes I will, thank you!
@@gear_show you better mate
Ну вот,восстановил отличный съемник для масляных фильтров!! Отличная работа!
Это не съёмник. Это трубный цепной ключ.
That chain came out much better than I thought it would.
Yes, the chain quality is still good after the restoration.
Nice video!

I like the best you have used to drill rust. Nice job
Of all the random videos that pop up on my feed I am most thankful for this channel... so satisfying to watch 🤤
Wonderful. Maybe consider blackening the tool instead of painting. I have the impression that the paint comes off easily when working with the tool.
Thank you!
Like Parkerizing?
How do you blacken iron?
I've seen people using gun-blue or heating it up and spray it with WD40. Well at least for steal.

Мастеру респект и уважение. Работа хорошая. Первый раз видел такой инструмент в заводском исполнении. Привет из России.
по мне так отпескоструить легче было бы
Для чего такой инструмент ?

Those are great tools, I used to work in the oil industry and we often used them for pipe work. Great job restoring it.
What was that gunk you were chiseling off starting around 2:00? Paint?
@Nathaniel Dillard PVC glue?
I was thinking caked on old grease or epoxy
as a plumber in sweden we use these pretty often, also we use chain pipecutters for cast iron pipes:)
Wow! Very labour intensive with no shortcuts! You did an amazing job worthy of all your hard work.
Thank you!
Surprised how good the chain came out!! Looks great! Nice job!
Thank you!
Nice work man! That turned out great
It’s cool that you showed the chemical reactions on the chain interesting to watch
Excellent cleanup especially the chain using drill press table. Great work!
Absolutely gorgeous! Intense red looks amazing with black

Beautiful work man and no anoying music to go along with it. Thank you
You're welcome!

It's 1:30. I have an editing reel due tomorrow. But right now? This chain wrench is all I can think about.
really good job, it's a pleasure to watch the restoration process.
Excellent work! Be sure to oil the chain and it will last as long as you will.
me: what is this silliness?
*sees hardened adhesive chipped away from chain links*
*dies of joy*
thank you for posting sir!
Didn't think you would get the chain that good :) . . . Good work . . . Rog
Beautiful restoration! Amazing before and after shots... like brand new!
Great idea putting cone brush on a drill press..
Thank you!
Why am i addicted to these videos?
Thank you so much for your efforts, Gear Man. This is art.
Nice job, I too have found myself filing off the casting imperfections of C clamps before painting them... little things that count.
Your wire brush in the drill press technique looks very effective :)
Fantastic & wonderful. No words to admire.
What is that yellow or brass colored tool you use? If looks like a small grinder but beefier. Thanks
That vinegar soak worked extraordinarily well
Looks brand new!
Yes it is.
very satisfying ....perfect object for a restoaration.
Thank you!
Fantastic Job , have a nice day !!!
This one is awesome sped up though. Love all the tippy tapping lol
Thought it looked better in the bare metal finish.
Thank you!

I’m wondering what’s that tool used for ? I really liked your work 👍

You need it to loose your casset on your bike
@@grimsoul0 And just for fun with enough force you can crush just about anything you wrap that chain around.
Very well done restoration
The dog at 7:22 in the background was the best part of the video

Fantastic work
Fantástico seu trabalho🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Excellent work, it's like it's brand new.
Watching at 2x speed for ultimate satisfaction.

Oh Yeah! Time to whack some Splicers!
If you have played a centain game that takes place in a certain underwater city you'll get the reference.
Good restoration of the instrument! Nice to look at!
Thank you!
Also very handy to use - on large and small pipe that is hard to get at to turn with regular wrench
How did you prevent flash rust after removing the chain from the vinegar? How will you prevent future rust on the unpainted part of the wrench?
Отличная работа !
Again, your speed is astonishing! O.O
Ooh la la! So pretty!
Its so satisfying to hear the continous beating
excellent work
Thank you!
Unique tool! 🤓Brilliant craftsmanship!👍🏻❤️😊
Curioso, Para que serve essa ferramenta ?
That was very satisfying. Great job!
Excelente, muy buen trabajo 👌a quedado impecable.
Thank you!
dude that looks like art work now, i wouldn't even want to use it, id rather have it in a display case....lol
How long was the chain soaking in the vinegar ?
I like the chipping sound when its fast forward
The music at the beginning is a discount version of "Child in Time" by Deep Purple :))
Great vid :)
Używasz puzniej te narzędzia czy tylko na pokaz to robisz.?
Those things are getting harder and harder to find!
excellent work once again
excelente trabajo..envidiable nice job
Excellent !
Perfect video ! Can anyone tell me what liquid he used for the rusty chain ?
He showed the bottle before pouring it in the container with the chain
Nice. What kinds of liquid do you use to clean chain?

NICE restoration!!! 😃👍
Thank you 😀
Nice job
Thank you!
What were you chiseling off at around 3 minutes? Is that a plating that was originally on the tool?
Beautiful
If you can you should get a pneumatic needle scaler
Yes, thank you for suggestion.
You apologize for the mistake but I didn't see any.
Great job! Obrigado!
Music reminds me of some of the music in red dead redemption 2. Also great video.
Nicely done sir .....
Great job!! This came out a lot better than the one i did lol...
hi!!! how did you unrust the chain? whith what product?
I used vinegar solution
