Happy New Year Ya'll! I'm branching out and doing different types of content this year. Only military tests and fitness challenges gets somewhat draining to me SO prepare for survival videos, trying new things, and of course some fitness/military stuff sprinkled in! Thanks for watching!
love that! Have you heard of the German ‚survival’ UA-camr Fritz Meinecke? He recently did an incredible format called 7 vs wild which went viral here in Germany. Maybe you can get some inspiration from there?
Chef was the best fairy godmother ever!!! Nice spotting Austen!!! Ballet isn’t easy and I know Chef was struggling for sure but you both did a good job!
@@AustenAlexander it’s definitely harder than it looks. It’s a very different manner of using muscles. The toll it takes on your toes alone is astounding! Technology has come a little ways since I was little. When I was a kid you had a solid wooden block in your pointe ballet shoe and cotton batting, bandaids, and the will of god. To have and maintain so much grace while being in pain is awe inspiring. Every winter there’s the Nutcracker Ballet and it’s so beautiful to see when you have an idea of what goes into the routine. Highly recommend seeing it at least once in your life.
@@itsneverduck.8691 I am a dancer and I'm very certain that wood never really was a thing in point shoes - it may sound and feel like wood - it isn't. In Italy they used metal...in Russia they used cork but that's a loooong time ago. Your box was probably made out of the mixture of fabric, glue and cardboard that the pointe shoe boxes today still are made out of. The glue and compression makes the materials very hard and durable but also easier to break down, quieter and lighter than wood ever could be.
@@Simplenotion it has certainly changed for the better in recent decades, however I’m quite old and my cousin dissected an old shoe of hers so I could see what it was made of and it was indeed wood and cotton. However, nowadays the boxes are much better than when I was little. If you look up the historical anatomy of pointe ballet shoes, it’ll actually say they were wooden. I’m glad things have gotten better in recent decades because I still find pointe ballet truly beautiful and awe inspiring.
I'm glad you and chef were men enough to do this you guys look great and I think it brings awareness to ballet as well as people need all forms of exercise.
Ok Austen as a ballerina I have to say.... for such a big guy, that really was not that bad. You have balance and a bit of turn out. I was impressed. 👍
austen, your turnout in fifth position is seriously no joke! i‘ve been dancing ballet for years and am still not as turned out as you! really a job well done, also from chef
I love this!!! Many people don't realize that pro ballet dancers are pro athletes - and they have the added challenges of timing their athletic moves to music, in costumes, and making them look effortless and beautiful. It's very hard to do these positions the first time, because turnout feels so unnatural and you're trying to make your movements flow and look effortless while you're getting tired - the guys' athleticism really showed in that they were both able to dance in the center by the end! Bravo!!💕
I got emotional when Petra Conti saying thank you for bringing awareness to ballet. Many ballet schools and companies are struggling due to the pandemic. Thanks so much for trying ballet! You guys did great and fun to watch 👍!
It was epic and you both did amazing guys!👯♀️ thank you for putting so much effort into it and for taking it seriously 😎 let me know when you are ready for more challenges like that 😜 I have sooo many exercises to teach you! 😘😘 ....P.S. In the video I said FOCUS, I swear 🙏🏻😇
Thank you so much for this vid. It is so important that quite "manly" men do this, enjoy themselves, and show respect to dancing and Ballet specifically. It truly helps breaking boundaries!
I LOVE IT!!! Ballet has the best stretches. I try to do them, especially daily for some reason my muscles want to stretch and it feels so good. Great job!
I was already wincing in the warm up because just watching you guys stretch made me stretch and I felt it too! You guys gave it your all and I loved it!
Was not expecting this, but it was fun to see some variety!! I know it must be very difficult, but it was fun seeing both of y’all try really hard and it was quite an interesting video😂👍 Great video and it’s cool to see you trying different content
Dear Austen Thank you! Thank you for getting me motivated again to do stuff. Due to the Pandemic and an desease i had to take strong medications and was not allowed to do any sports, i lost my drive. I managed to lose 25 kg (dropped from 110 to 85kg) from August 2018 till december 2018 than the Pandemic came and i didn't worrie at all because i could do Sports with myself and without a gym to keep myself at this weight than my health started to decrease and i needed to take strong medications where i was not allowed to do sports at all, wasn't allowed to meet with friends because of my imunesystem and so on. Gained every single gram i lost startet do hate my body again, developed a eating disorder wich i managed to control better in the last months and had mentally lost my drive to keep on going. Since a few weeks i am watching your videos and today i got stuff done. Stood up early in the morning and went running, doing push ups and got my body to the limit the first time in 2 years. Everything hurts right now but it feels great cause i know that i did something good for me and my body. Failures playing a big role in life, beeing sad is a part in life but stopping with things you like and losing focus on the goals you have should not be part of life. I am so glad that i finally managed to overcome my comfort in accepting my fate of being myself and doing nothing about it. I am done with it! I will change and get back to 75kg! That is one of my goal but important to be happy with myself. Feels wierd to write something like this in a YT comment I always thought what is people driving to do that. But you made me do it as well! To all the troops out there in the world, thank you for your service! and focus on your goals!
This is so hilarious to watch! I started dance from the age of 3 then joined the Army at 19. I always got strange looks during PT because of how flexible I was, literally bending myself in half and having to do my dance stretches (ie splits, ect) just to get a stretch during warmups.
Wow both Austin and Chef did so great for beginners!! Austin especially picked up the techniques really well! He had a really good form!!! Loved watching you both doing ballet, it made me miss it
I would love to see more videos like this. Lol. I think the reason chef did so well as the fairy Godfather is because he was having more fun and not concentrating so hard. But I have to say, you are both more flexible than me.😂 Maybe you should try some martial arts training/routines. I know you probably learned some basics in the military, but would be interesting to see yoy do some routines, etc. Knowing I just said I am not flexible I was in martial armrts for 1½ years before I ran out money. Couldn't touch my toes but was doing pretty good on front kicks before I had to stop.
I loved watching this! especially seeing the both of you in a tutu at the beginning. You looked real perty. :-D I could see you doing ballet, if you ever gave up your day job. Lol
I'm discovering this a year late but honestly, I hope you keep dancing even as a hobby or to round out your general fitness training. You've got a lot of potential and I think you even surprised yourself with your flexibility and coordination. I hope to see more dance content in the future from you! More ballet, or maybe try bellydance or flamenco
lol y'all looked great for having done it for a grand total of ten minutes! Like that's a LOT in a VERY short period of time. The average beginner class is like 90 minutes, so not even one class in and y'all can plié, grand battement, and do châines? Very nice. GREAT, NOW THAT YOU KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING, LET'S START THE HARD STUFF. 😁
Austen, you had me at romantic and intimate 🤩🤣🤣💃🕺 Love them tights baby. It's harder than it looks, dosen't it??? Even for someone as fit as you and Chef 😋
Austen has the body. Be a great classical dancer, if he had started 20 years ago lol. Bravo guys, Rush has nice grace and feeling. Would have liked to see him jump, I'm sure he has good ballon.
It gives me a lot of joy that these very strong very manly men are Rudy to put themselves in tights and a tutu and learn from a profesional something so far from their craft. Not an ounce of “very macho man” energy.
Instead of laughing all the time, I like the fact that these guys took the challenge quite seriously and did their very best. Well done guys!👍
This just shows that ballet is a sport and we should respect it
From being a Master Sergeant, President's personal Chef and a bodybuilder to ballet dancing with butterfly wings 😂😂😂
Austen would actually have future in ballet. He has the spirit, we can tell. With some training, I can see him dancing as a professional.
Austen's grand plie and port de bras were great, having Petra Conti as your ballet teacher is no joke, you both did great!
thank you! haha
Chef shaking his head…what have I gotten into? When she yelled, “focus!” That’s not what I thought she said. 🤣
I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE

From a former ballet dancer: You did so well. I can't believe you quickly you both picked everything up. I'd love to see you after several classes.
The way they ran to the dressing room when she said “chop chop!” #priceless
she kinda scared me at first ngl

Chef you did better in the costume than without it. Must have been the wings.
Austen is a natural! Like he has been preparing for this!
Austin is a natural, so graceful and smooth
Guy in white was doing good. He has awareness and coordination for ballet.
I'd like to see a whole company do this and do a choreography. This is amazing.

That was awesome to watch. I sat in on a couple of my daughters dance lessons and that stuff is BRUTAL!!! My hat is off to both of you men.
I think Austen should be a ballet dancer 🩰he acts so graceful
Chef is more flexible, Austen looked more graceful on the first try but Chef quickly caught up on the second try. Must be the fairy wings.
This video reminds me of a story where college football players took ballet/dance classes to improve their agility
Petra Conti is so great.. you guys are very lucky! Good job!
Austen totally could have done ballet!! Looking good 👍
really thinking I may have a future in ballet 🩰
I think it’s great that two seasoned men do something like this…just brilliant.
