- Bill Lawrence passed away from a heart attack while in the hospital on Friday night.
Many of our viewers may remember Lawrence as the host of the original “Tiny Talent Time,” right here on CHCH.
His longtime friend and former co-worker, Don Pilcher, remembers Bill as a gentleman.
“Bill was a very personal friend. I’ve known him for more than 70 years. He means just about everything to me in terms of a personal friend.” Pilcher said.
Lawrence created children’s programs well before shows like Sesame Street.
For 35 years, he hosted and co-produced “Tiny Talent Time,” the second longest-running Canadian tv show that often had more viewers than NFL broadcasts.
I missed this news. Bill touched so many of us. Surprised this wasn't bigger news.
He was a great man. Like Commander Tom, all the greats of that era have passed and there will never be others
Rocketship 7 😄

Memories of Sunday roast beef dinner in the oven, watching Tiny Talent Time. I also recall the children’s program..A Special Place..that Bill Lawrence hosted..humming the tune right now!
I remember watching him when I was a kid. A very talented man. RIP Bill.
My condolences to Bill's family, and coworkers. I remember him from hosting Tiny Talent Time, growing up. We would all sit in the living room waiting for it to start. Those were the days. Things are so much different now. Have a great day ❤️🙂⚘️.
He was one of my teachers in RTA at Ryerson Polytechnic University, now Toronto Metropolitan University. Funny and sweet man.
living near the Canadian border, I watched tv shows like "A Special Place" and i remember they had "Tiny talent time" as well. I can hardly find any eps of those shows here but I remember them.
My condolences to his family and friends. And to his fans, and may God have him in all his glory and may God bless us everyone
He always struck me as a nice person. I dreamed of being on Tiny Talent Time as a kid... Rest in Peace, Bill. Condolences to your friends and family.
Wow, this man was and is legendary not only locally or nationally in Canada. But to my knowledge. On both sides of the Niagara in western NY. So that right there makes him much more deservingly worldwide. We all especially, the children need that sort of inspiration. Even more so, nowadays. Rest in peace, Bill you are a treasure
Rest will Sir
