Daniel Parker and Silas Parker are my great uncles. Frank Hamer is my cousin. I couldn’t be prouder of my families contribution to Texas History.
Daniel Parker introduced the bill that would make the temporary Rangers a permanent force and expanded them to 150 Rangers.

John Coffee Hays, Sam Walker, Kit Acklin, Rufus Perry, R.I.P. Ford, Leander McNeilly, Ben Highsmith, Alexander "Bigfoot" Wallace, were some the Rangers that fought the Commanche, Caddos, Kichis, and Wacos, Kickapoo, and Lipan Apaches, here on the Texas frontier, in the early days of the Texas Republic, when just trying to live was tough here in the wilds of Texas. Many also fought later, in the Mexican War, returned and took up ranging again. Many became Confederate commanders later when the Civil War, tore the nation apart. It was the introduction and use of the Colt Patterson, and Colt Walker, and Colt repeating rifles, that made the difference in taming Texas.

Romantic video of the Rangers....there is the real and gritty history that is coming out of moments that they would not be so proud of...lynchings, murders, racism.....

You know the one thing I really liked about the Rangers, is they really helped out the FBI in the early years when the agents were mostly lawyers and didn't know how to shot or do an investigation

The Texas Department of Public Safety has numerous divisions, which include the state police often referred to as Troopers, then Criminal Investigation Division, Narcotics, and the Texas Rangers. Texas Rangers assist county and small police agencies with criminal investigations and investigate high profile cases. They have state-wide police authority.

If the Mexican government wasn't so corrupt their people wouldn't have to die daily trying to get here. NO ONE is trying to illegally get into Mexico.
They are all coming here to live and succeed among the "Anglo propaganda".
