To be fair, i agree with everyone saying the sport isn't big enough to generate decent profit, but let's not dismiss the fact that there is a large "bureaucracy" in sports that siphons off most of the profits before it makes its way down to the athlete.
Climbing is much more popular since the Olympics. I bet the prize money hasn't changed. Regardless of the viewing figures, if this is still all that can be funded for the prize pot then something is wrong
Climbing has exploded, there are 5X climbing gyms compared to 20 years ago in most major cities but the athletes aren't seeing a fair share of the profits... hoping the olympics can change that
