- At the dawn of the Blitz, a tender young bar pianist struggles to justify his war efforts to his stubborn Mother.
A short, student-made, film. This was made during our final year at Ravensbourne. The cast consists of:

This is really great- its very hard to get Black and White photography correct- John Ford's words not mine- and you managed it wonderfully. The hair and wardrobe is as authentic as it can be this day in age where it's difficult to replicate. And I enjoy the long sequences of no dialogue- what Hithcock refers to as pure cinema. Really nice job by everyone involved!!
That was flipping good!! I felt very attached to all the characters and you kept me hooked for the whole film. Well done! You must make more and I must be in them.

You made a great use of 18 minutes and for a short film with a limited budget, this was very nicely put together. The costumes and props were accurate, the characters and language were believable, and the use of black and white felt genuine and authentic for the time period. You used sounds for full effect and captured the essence of an enclosed, shuttered environment nicely. A really solid effort from all involved and a neat short film, hopefully you'll get the ability to make feature length independent films in the future, you all have talent, will be keeping you in mind and looking out for more productions.

This is brilliantly done - I had no idea it was a student film until I read the comments. Were you able to get it out to any festivals last year? The editing is incredible, and your shot choices were authentic but emotional, too. If you're ever looking for representation (or a producer for future films!) please get in touch!
