Definitely a step in the right direction for me Dylan, it was a long time ago since I just did lap after lap on Catalunya and just forgot about the time and enjoyed myself. I think it was GP 20 and before that GP 07 when I had this carefree fun lap after lap. It might not be perfect, I do question the weight transfer speed at times but I am no rider so I could be wrong of course, it is a bit sluggish but you do get used to it and have to prepare a few turns in advance at times and not so much on the fly corrections. Also braking is more important to do before the turn this year and be feather light on the trigger. Trail braking seem a bit harder because of the extreme stiffness that occur on heavy braking. Thankfully they have given more rumble feedback on the brake now so it's easier to stop a crash before it happens. So far I have no real complaints but that might change with time as we start pushing more and more but GP 23 I couldn't play at all at the end, it had me so frustrated and bored with the physics constantly fighting you in every part of the track.
Thanks for the video man and maybe I see you again in multiplayer.

Bought the game today. It's VERY similar to Ride 5. It is slightly better, and there's more that changes when you alter the setups, but... Number 1 thing I noticed is that if you try to use the guided setups, it will do a couple changes, and after that it will still say it has changed this and that, while lying about it because there are nothing altered when I head in to manual setup. I find that quite sad that it won't continue to do changes when I say it is still understeering and there's more clicks that can be made, it just won't do it.
Then you have the same annoying handling aspect that is present in Ride 5, and that is you cannot use braking input together with steering input to make faster transitions from side to side. One very good example is the hard braking section after Stoner corner at Philip Island where you are coming in with high speed while leaning over to the left hand side. If you start to apply brakes while still leaning left it will be *_VERY_* hard to make that bike point towards corner entry. It just wants to go straight. So, your only option is to apply right steering input and point the bike at a minimum past the upright tipping point and aim towards corner entry, and then you can start applying brakes. It's very annoying that these games just won't allow you to have all the movement you should have with a bike from side to side even when brakes are applied. You are forced more or less to brake in a more straight line, and to me this kind of riding style becomes very sterile and boring.
EDIT: I've figured why now, and the reason why you often can feel there's not been made much changes to the setups of the bike. It's the sabotage input that Milestone have coded into the physics which will freeze up suspension more and more the more throttle or brake that is applied. If I have no throttle or brake input the bike is handling very good. The split second I just apply a little bit of either throttle or brake, and the bike just resists so much in handling. This is what causes understeery physics and it's just a separate thing that has got nothing to do with the tweaks made to the bike itself, but rather a sabotage input by Milestone because they think this will help the fresh players. They could at least just added a slider with this specific input so that players who want it gone can remove it, and people who want it can have their thing too. It's so sad that they force this on everybody.
You cannot ride like you should be able to because if we head back to my previous example of that same corner at Philip Island, you cannot simply keep full beans and then just start aplying steering to aim for the corner entry and at that point apply the brakes, because in order to not completely overshoot the corner and kill a flock of kangaroos, you'd have to start doing this very early, only to come in too tight on entry. I just dislike setting up corners in this game as in Ride 5 just because brakes means freezed suspension so you're literally coasting along on top of a log. The moment you star releasing brakes, it will allow cornering abilities again, which is just complete bs. It does not work like this in the real world, and given this is indeed a MotoGP title where there are no road bikes or anything similar, nobody can come in an claim that it should not aim towards realism because that's bollox. It's the official MotoGP game, period. Of course it's aim should be towards realism.
In Ride 4 you can brake as much as you need while leaning to the opposite side of corner entry, and then just lean it over still with brakes applied when you feel it's best to dive in there. This is way closer to reality than Ride 5 and MotoGP 24.
In Motogp 24 it is slightly better than in Ride 5 but the point is it is still same physics. Very floaty and wavy feeling, and for me personally braking is the worst part for both of these games. I need to be able to turn the bike *_WHILE_* braking and manipulate the bike with the brakes as well in a way better way than is possible in this physics engine.
I almost feel like taking my motorcycle licence again and being told not to brake while cornering. Always brake in a straight line because.... because... Look! Kittens! (Instructor runs home...)

Yer maun! Yeah been waiting for your opinion on this one - I got it 12+ hours ago, being in Australia where its Thursday before where your are. Visuals are about same, different colours of course but the menus seem good, functions seem workable. Feel is to me more like 21 than 23, feels planted and connected, the gyro forces that kept picking the bike up in 23 in turns is gone, but a very much positive gyro upright feel at speed, which is correct - at the end of the straight at Mugello its heavy on change of direction. I find I'm using more forward stick on corner exit, really feel like I'm using rider weight more already.
I wrecked my shoulder at work and couldn't do more than 2 races at mugello but so far I'm liking the feel.

Glad to hear your thoughts are mostly positive Dylan, 23 was horrible we both didn’t even make it to the premier class as you said “how sad is that”. I am still going to wait for your final verdict and also updated riders and bikes in all classes before even considering it, I rate your opinion on bike games pretty high as you have an idea how a bike should handle unlike some channels. That head shake at 11:06 looked pretty damn realistic too which was absent before or looked kinda awkward/weird.
    Thanks again

I started from GP 22 so my opinion may not be worth much. I found the gameplay of GP 23 quite different from GP 22 but it became more enjoyable as I got accustomed to it. A significant difference for me between GP23 vs GP22 is that you did not need to downshift to first gear when hard breaking at any corner. Now with Gp24 it feels like they brought back the need to go all the way to first gear in order to stop the bike, and the gentle breaking of GP 23 is non-existent. There is a learning curve with each version and I don't mind it tbh. Developers need to try new things. I'd rather learn how to play the current version than complain about the changes. I, like many others, would've loved to see all the features GP22 had to offer but it is what it is. I must say that your earlier videos about Moto GP bike and controller settings were super helpful to me taking the time to learn how to play the series. I am still not e-sports level but good enough to compete with your lap times on the previous iterations. I was kind of disappointed that you became so overtly critical about each successive MotoGP game, and honestly didn't think you were going to review GP 24. Hopefully, we'll get to see more MotoGP content on your channel. 💌

Wheelies are a big problem for me. And change of direction under heavy braking which is realistic but I think it's a touch over the top. The customisation window is tiny and makes it really difficult for me to create stickers. I didnt play 22 or 23 because 21 was such a let down(spent most of the time in tt trying to find a setup that stopped the bike squirming around). But I can see myself getting used to this and enjoying it more.

Bought the game on launch, loving it so far. Was used to GP22, didnt play 23 at all, and so far, Im really enjoying it, the braking is a bit more tricky tbh.
I used to just squeeze the front as hard as possible and throw the bike from one side to the other in GP22 and in SBK22 now I cant do that, have to be much more gentle with the brakes and its taking quite a bit getting used to, I used more the Moto3 bikes too cus of career mode.
So far its been a very good experience, looks better, sounds better, plays better, way better career mode and of course the 24 season, so, I highly recommend it

I had to get used to the front braking I’m used to the front when you slam it on it would lock up it will loose the front real quick. Yes I like it. I like the race pace of the AI how if you have the lead the pack of three behind you can draft each other and catch up to you
