- In his weekly Sunday Show with BizNews, Neil de Beer, the President of the United Independent Movement (UIM), dissects the “Wrecking Ball” politics that is currently reaching epic levels in South Africa, and talks about some of the politicians who are at the forefront of the political infighting, including Helen Zille, Dr Pieter Groenewald, Herman Mashaba, Panyaza Lesufi, Cilliers Brink…De Beer further comments on AfriForum wanting the Democratic Alliance and the Vryheidsfront Plus to leave the Government of National Unity (GNU) if the BELA Bill is signed into law unchanged. He also gives his take on “The Confessions of a Former Politician” being posted on X by Ronaldo Gouws who was kicked out of the DA and Parliament.

No s hit Sherlock - my grand kids know that civil servants are public servants. DA is way ahead of everybody. They are great in service delivery and at same time setting sight on an even bigger pie of SA. Which is good for SA.
Except the DA is not a viable option for South Africa… the DA is not a centrist party nor is the DA going to be the only option for whites! This is not going to stand as they are no better than any other political party. Why does the DA not but the price of energy instead of capping it? Why has the DA not allowed a central right party into parliament and why does the DA get involved in the DAVOS crowd? The DA isn’t going to lead the majority Christian centrists, as they are just as bad as all the rest in politics

Hermans bitter pill must be swallowed. He will lose bigly. The citizens of tswane will suffer. There will be no service. Cilliers was working hard to correct the finances. That had to come before services can pick up for the ppl that dont pay for anything yet demand everything
The public servants are unaware of their responsibilities.
This is turning out to be a very expensive soap opera.
Which will never end. It will twist and turn, changing aspect, flavour, colour and smell into infinity, as long as we have this silly political party system going.

in port elizabeth the citizen is second 3 days of no electricity in some parts due to illegal strike by electricity department. Contents of fridge and freeze now has to go to the bin and claim can be made against the municipality

Ciriltjje has often stated that the anc party comes first in SA, that implies all cadres are first in line.
Public servants calling each other honorable member in parliament, there nothing honorable amongst thieves and criminal.
I think Mrs Zille has done more to destroy all opposition parties and just wish she had retired years ago . Being a competent strategist and administrator is one thing , but being aware of the territory you are operating on, and more importantly how your message is delivered, and the negative impact of flexing and posturing , on millions of south africans daily lives is what should be considered . Adults don't take well to didactic approach to discussions .

I have said it before that Helen Zille has played a very important role in taking the DA into being the 2nd biggest political party in SA but that her time for retirement came when prominent DA politicians ( including a leader and mayor) left the DA angry and disillusioned. I truly hope wisdom and maturity will override egoism in this matter.

... and even though the rate payers do pay, 80% of that income goes to municipalities' administration costs, & only 20% is available for service delivery. What can be achieved by 20%? Not much.😢

This theme of building up and breaking down is exactly what has taken place at Alexkor between management and the diamond diving industry. For 20 years we fought to get the governance (yes diamond divers are into governance) sorted out. The dissipation of governance and flourishing of corruption has all but collapsed the diamond diving industry and now Alexkor is following because Treasury has closed the spigot.

Why do you think this is the case.......and the BELA bill actions going on is not about Afrikaans schools. It is about protecting the right of the parents to have insight and rights in determining some of the crucial aspect of the education of their children. The Bela bill takes this away from them

On Renaldo (not a fan), but is what he saying wrong though.....? You know, we have a tendency as South Africans to permanently curse the water that comes from certain wells, because we don't much like the well. Well, just because the well is ugly, doesn't always mean that the water is bad. Now, in some....many cases that is true, but I live by the adage of "smoke & fire".
