Allahumma baarik. Unlike other stories where it's all about "me, myself and I", you've given credit to the One without Whom all of these sequences of events and opportunities wouldn't have presented themselves.
First of all May Allah have mercy upon your family member (الله يرحمه ويدخله فسيحة جناته). Congratulations on your journey you have encouraged me to get out of my comfort zone. Making twitter account as you did and I’ll try your advice. Thank you sxb.
I just came across your channel, first and foremost, ilaahay ha una xariisto to ur beloved brother. Second, I am in the same situation, I have solid understanding of JS, HTML, CSS, Typescript and React. It's really easy to get discouraged as imposter syndrome is real, but I will keep pushing as ur words have encouraged me to not give up.
One of the best vids that i have found on my recommendation feed. Mashallah brother what a well put together video. My first youtube comment this year goes to you. Allahuma barik. Gained yourself a new subscriber.
Doing Odin project, haven't got any group chats, it's pretty lonely but I'm 50% throught Foundations. I wish you were my friend! Great story Mohamed, God bless Anas and my sympathies for your loss bro. I can relate man. Grew up with computers, have been able to use DOS, build computers, and troubleshoot my PC since I was young. Mid 30s now and nowhere near as skilled as I should be. Lost my mum last November to cancer (bone cancer too) and picked up the course. I had spoken to her about doing a coding bootcamp, applied but didn't get in. Finally got around to it this year. Wish me luck man! Subbed and liked!
Appreciate your kind words and you’ve obviously got the drive to do this - you just gotta keep going. Wishing you the best man, keep me updated on your journey.
they always say, no matter who you are if you're not feeling motivated, someone else is. you're a spitting image of that. rest in peace to your brother and congratulations on moving forward towards your goal. you are a beautiful soul my friend. thank you for sharing
very inspiring to listen to stories like this. I just began my studies about a week ago. things aren't really clicking yet but I'm certainly going to keep putting in the hours and hope for the best
Mohamed this was so nice to watch. Mashallah and congrats on the job. It just shows how job hunting is a full time job itself but but your perseverance really wins!
Man I'm truly inspired by your story, and today marks the beginning of my journey I have tried and given up before but this time there's no going back because of your story. Thank you very much, I'd like if you could be my mentor.
Thanks, Nelson, I’m glad I was able to inspire you! I can’t currently mentor anyone but I would love to continue hearing about your journey and I’d be happy to help wherever I can.
Let me tell you something Mohamed. In a year, this channel will be at a million subscribers strong. You are not just an inspiration. You are an infection too perversive. Your way with words just hit differently... I have been trying to get into tech for quite a while but imposter syndrome and confusion about where to start has been my greatest problem. This is more than I need. You are probably my ANAS
I have to admit, I’m at a loss for words at your kind words. I don’t deserve such high praise but I thank you, nonetheless. If I’ve been able to inspire you like that, I’ve done what I set out to achieve. Wishing you all the best Javan - keep me updated on your journey!
Allahumabarik !! Such a high quality video, on a separate note I think I saw you on Friday Jummah in the masjid next to Wilko. I am in the later stages (one final stage) for some tech roles as well. May Allah have mercy on Anas.
When you say that everything happens for a reason, you weren't kidding. I'm not even sure how I stumbled upon this video but I thank God for it. I thank God for you and your message because, Wow!!! I needed this message. I have just quit my job as an office administrator to pursue my dream of working as a virtual assistant. This past Friday was my last day, which is evidently a day after you posted this video. Maybe I'm tripping haha! But the most interesting thing about your video and your message is that one of the reasons I quit my job was to have time to nurture my son's love for IT. He is 16 years old and autistic. I have been home schooling him since he was 8 years old because he really struggled in the mainstream education system. As he grew to be the self aware teenager that he is today, he started to express his dreams about his career and his expectations about the future. And tech is the main thing he wants to do. He loves it. He lives it. I knew when I quit, where I was going to register him for a course on Python and the steps we would take after that. I just had the lingering thought in the back of my mind that we would fail at this because these things are not made for black South Africans with no money. LOL! But your video has just given my spirit the boost it needed and the reassurance that this is what I should be doing. I am Christian and I believe that God speaks to us through people and the lessons we learn from certain situations. I have no doubt that God used you to get to me. So I'm basically claiming this video as my own, Haha! But seriously, thank you for this video . I love that you love God gave Him the glory He deserves. Thank you, Mohamed. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Lebo, I am humbled by your message and I never thought the video would have this type of impact on someone. I relate very well to your lingering thought because you cannot be what you cannot see - and there aren’t many black people in this field. But rest assured, there is a seat at the table for anyone who works hard enough for it. I wish you all the best in you and your son’s journey and I hope to see you both at the table, soon.
This video was worth the wait. Another banger of a video allahuma barik. Great and thoroughly engaging video off the back of a journey we viewers feel have come along with you on. Elite feynuus in the background still. This one is hitting the algorithm buckle up!
Damn this guy worked extremely hard. Im trying to change careers to CS too and cried last night at how hard it was and not seeing the end anytime soon. I decided I’m going to keep moving forward no matter what.
Your story is so amazing! You really make great content and I really appreciate your positive attitude towards life, even if difficulties are thrown our way. Your hard work and dedication is inspiring and I know your brother would be so proud, may he rest in peace. I can't wait to see your growth and success in the future. I see big things for you!
I really appreciate your kind words, and thank you for watching my videos. I don’t know what’s in store for me but whatever it is, I’ll keep you updated!
Thank you so much brother . Your story is inspiring me to keep moving forward no matter what. And it's essential for me to hear it from a fellow somali brother. I've already started me journey, done with html and css and am now wrestling with javascript. Can you be providing me with some help when i finish my studies with job interviews inshaallah looking forward to it thanks brother.
Thank you for your kind words and I’m glad I could be a source of inspiration for you. I can’t promise I can give you the help you’re asking but I’ll do what I’m capable of. Message me on Instagram or Twitter!
Wow this is what I needed. I haven’t applied this week to any openings because I felt perhaps I am not good enough. Was even looking at Master programmes to increase my employability but I need this job. Thanks for this!
What are the chances! I felt like I wasn’t good enough a lot of the time but there are people out there looking for talent more than they are coders - my last interview taught me that.
@@mmohamud Yes but I think the key take away for me is to work on the non-technical aspect of things. Specially the networking & pre-planning my interview (have some answers ready for the most common questions they ask + come with planned questions myself, etc). Really really enjoyed this video, your journey is truly inspiring. Mabrook on the new job, may it be kheir for you and your family and may He always continue to grant you both what’s best. Allahuma ameen - onwards and upwards!
I remember our week in bootcamp, it was a fun, you introduced me Disney game😊 I loved. I have similar situation - no interviews from bootcamp, and finally I had an interview for a company I dream and I was rejected. This made me so upset 😭 I’m glad you found the job and I wish all the best, you are a good man. It was a pleasure working with you.
@@mmohamud Thanks for replying...Glad to hear...could you make a video briefing us on salary, work environments and just the living conditions in general...That would be great...I'm in Ghana and it's my dream to study/work abroad someday :)
Do you have any recommendations for a frontend bootcamp student/grad? I have an unpaid internship and I plan to get a full time job by next summer after I finish my bachelors degree.
If you’re a CS student, I wouldn’t worry too much about going to a bootcamp to learn front end development. I’d just enrol to freecodecamp or the Odin Project and learn from there. Where are you located?
@@mmohamud Unfortunetly I am not a CS student I am a student in Science Technology and Society. It is the sunk cost fallacy that you are talking about. It will take me longer to get that degree. But once I do secure a job I plan to get an associate for web development that hopefully the company will pay for in the future. Seattle

Instead of a lucky break, I would say that all you need is consistency.
You're a perfect example of that.
Spot on, a lucky break comes with consistency.
Wow as someone who's followed your journey since your first video it is inspiring and motivating to see!
Thank you Nur, you’ve been there since day 1!
