As someone who worked in DOC as a corrections officer it is scary and concerning seeing not one officer was paying attention and or responded throughout this whole event. Thank God it didn't go sideways for the officer. Thirty seconds can feel like 5 minutes when fighting with an inmate.

I too was wondering why no other guard/CO ran into the break room to aid the guard during a physical altercation with an inmate. This kid does seem like a weenie against grown men and I'm sure it's easy to become complacent and thinking nothing will happen because the prisoner hasn't been known to cause problems, but this goes to show they need to always stay vigilant

@@NaughtyKlaus The thing is, if he's on death row, he will be protected - he will go into solitary confinement most likely - even tho I know Florida ended the permanenet status of it recently. And even if he gets a lifeterm, he will go into solitary confinement since he's been shown as a danger to himself and others in jail. I for one, thing general population would be the best way to go - because like you said - another prisoner could finish the job.

lol in my head the dog in the pic said that
anyways I think it's to get the details in record. say he didn't talk about the cycles, the defense could argue maybe the inmate didn't discharge the taser (looking at the flashing lights and how long they lasted), but the guard did because he was startled or something and tries to blame the inmate for clout or something. thats why they have to go through every button and latch to support the fact that the guard didn't pull the trigger, the inmate did. and caused the discharge.

the jury is not shown on video (probably to protect their identities since this case is so high profile), but it's important to make sure they understand what they're being shown and what it means. without all that clarification, they might not know what the video is really showing or the gravity of the situation, especially since the altercation happened so fast and the security footage is not the best quality. the jurors likely have 0 familiarity with what being a correctional officer is, so they would have no idea how their weapons work

I think it is not right to put that kind is thinking into inmates when their goal is to get out and not cause more trouble. Some inmates actually want to improve their lives and should not be stuck with dirty work. Then there are some inmates that are monsters and deserve the same level of “punishment”. I don’t feel it should be their responsibility. The kid should just be hung and get this drama over with. I am sure that is why he started the fight so he could die and not have to go through the trials. Maybe have the trial first before letting others beat him up. 🤷 That way he does not get any more wins
