Looking good, I will also try and use the Hudson rear fenders, with some ajustmemt to the long rear tail. Also harvest the other two bin-pillars for the front side of the bin. It sits very nice. Kom mooi Div my maat.
Div it's really coming together nicely so far sir. Wow I am liking it so much. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon sir. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep making. God bless.
I think the plan is good, also think you need to salvage the other 2 stake pockets for the front edge of the bed. I would like to see the VW guards around the other way to maybe match the front ones better?? A piece of exhaust (or other) tubing makes a great edge for running boards. Thanks Div.
Well Mr. D that's gna look really cool when finished I'm liking the old Hudson a lot good job I can see a really nice ride starting to come together till next time 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Div, even your tow truck is cool as hell. The Hudson would look fantastic even without the bed, because then all your rear-half engineering is out where everyone can see it, but I know whatever you finish up with will be even better. CAN'T WAIT to see what you build for running boards. This beast is shaping up to be the coolest ride I've ever seen.
You hold my attention for the entire video. Your skills working with scrap metal are second to none, why have you not got 100,000 plus subscribers ,you certainly deserve that many and more.
i'm in the middle of building a 92 silverado trk with the bed off and 1/2 of a 1960 chevy bel aire on the back. exhaust (single) out the middle of the trunk hatch, no back wall on the cab leading into the back set of the car. 5 lug dually rear axle. driving it back and forth to work right now and the looks and complements i get.
That is the furthest thing from a Rat rod ! That truck is a bad ass Hotrod brother.!! Well done , looks so good !! Amazing work !! Thanks for another , Brother !!
You what si amazing south Africa and around the world builder of cars in trucks have so much in common and cheer each other on and well and have this unspoken brother hood .it just amazing
I am really enjoying the profile you have managed to create so far Boet. Thanks again for the weekly fix. I bought a 33 year old Chevy Astro van this week, drove it 200 miles or 320km home. Been cleaning it up on my channel. Amazed at the lack of rust underneath it
I want it 😂😂 love the rims 😎 I would let the original fenders hang out of the rear of the bed with a cool bumper treatment between incorporating lights and plate 🧐
Thanks for sharing your creative process. Contrary to the way some other channels present things, the desired solution doesn't magically appear. It is the product of trial and error. You're building a wonderful creation.
Love that your bringing us all along with you on this build and allowing us to chime in as you go. So I’m chumming in too. Ha ! I really liked when you first set up the Hudson fender. All though it’s longer than what you want, it reminded me of a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr. Way cool looking man. And I kinda like things stretched out too lol. Any way you chose it’s a bad azz build. Thanks for the journey brother. 👍🏻✌🏻
The patina on my brain likes the idea of using as much of the original truck as possible. But your vision never fails to impress, and i cant wait to see how you pull that rear end together. Thanks as always. This may provide epsom salts for the achy old bones. I hear that works… 🤷🏻♂️ 😊 👍👍
@@ratrodsafrica lol. Nah man. It’s like we hang out, you teach me how to build a rat rod, and i bring you a tea or a coffee. Or a bag of screws! Makes me happy to do it. 😊
I'm not really a rat rod kind of guy. But, I do like watching your fabrication skills. I really dig how you use as much of the old truck and scraps. And all from a lone guy in his shop. I'll keep watching because you sir are very entertaining.
That truck is turning out GREAT, really like the look of the bed and agree the curved rear frame piece will/should mirror the cab curves. You are kicking ass.
This is a really good looking build. You will have a fun ride when it's done. This was a great video. Thanks for letting us see the process of this build. I'm considering this idea for my grandpa's old Diamond T truck. My great uncle his brother had it in storage in one of his outbuildings since 1976. Keep up the good work and enjoy the ride!
Hello from South Texas...brother that is really turning out to become a badass truck...on my side my 1987 chevy square body just made it to transmission shop...should have new tranny next week
I love your work, Dif. Your attention to detail and finishing shapes is inspiring. I look forward to it every week. Rat rods are by definition do what you want with what you got. However, that rare Hudson Big Boy is Art Deco all the way. The longer the fenders the better especially on a slammed car. Think of tail dragger coupes. Use the Hudson fenders and reshape the wheel openings as you like. You could modify the bobbed bed by taking the front end panel you cut off and welding it to the back at a slant to match the rear fenders and extend it. You could cut out the Hudson script out of the now rear panel and leave it open or make big taillight out of it. The truck would look good coming and going. Just from one old guy to another.
Hello from Arizona USA! I found your channel about 4 months ago and I'm thoroughly impressed. Your idea's are out of the box and you have a great eye for details! Keep up the great work !
Fantastic Diff, you are the man !! I was impressed the first video of yours that I viewed. I can hardly wait for the next video. Thank you for what you know and do.
Div..... Well hello from the USA. Just between you and I, we will call you "Mr. Div ".... So far I have watch most of your videos..... and I'm impress with your ability's to solve unbelievable problems that comes up as it relates to automobiles.... Just so you know even though your far removed from civilization you are doing well.... I think that if you were here in the USA there's no telling what you could build.... Hey a lot people could learn from you.... Working with what you have available ..... Don't stop .....stay healthy. Oh that 351 is bad to the bones....
i was thinking to flip the sides of the finder wells and make it into a step side bed. 14:40 ok now we're talking. leave it long, but chop the back of thefinders.
Too lekka! I love how it's all coming together. Your workmanship compliments your artistic conception perfectly. I was so looking forward to seeing you customise the old Hudson rear fenders...
Just recently found your show and I think its great. I'm currently building a 40 Dodge coupe and you are giving me lots of inspiration. Thanks for sharing from Edmonton Alberta Canada
I’m loving those Hudson rear fenders it really sets off the front ones. Just my opinion.👍 Maybe you could make 2 Ute trays for completely different looks. A lead slead version as well as the one your building.
LOOKING AWESOME
The jigsaw puzzle is almost together. Very creative...
This truck is going to be Badass Div!!!!! Thank you for taking all of us along for the ride👍‼️🙏

love the bug front fenders on the rear.
I am enjoying your renobuild and can’t wait for next phase
Progress is great as usual Div. They were a little long but the look of the Hudson fenders was good. See you next video.
It is so cool how you used one of your ratrods to help you with building another ratrod!
See, as I said, a little recovery was done😅
Your video is over and I'm still thirsty for more. It's starting to come together rather nicely.
Thanks for sharing.
Looking good, I will also try and use the Hudson rear fenders, with some ajustmemt to the long rear tail. Also harvest the other two bin-pillars for the front side of the bin. It sits very nice. Kom mooi Div my maat.
Dankie Herman. Ek het nog nie die Hudson fenders afgeskryf nie...
Keep going. Its your build. Do it your way! My brother has a wite feed welder and just got a stick welder. I think he has been watching your videos.
Looking good Div the front of the Hudson looks so menacing. I love it 👍
Flip the Beatle fenders from side to side so the thick part of them are at the back. It would flow more with the front fenders.
Div it's really coming together nicely so far sir. Wow I am liking it so much. Can't wait to see more updates an projects and many more videos soon sir. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend. Fab On. Weld On. Keep making. God bless.
Hey hey... It Really Looks Like a Truck Now. I Love it!... Thanks for Sharing... Div. Keep Up the Great Work
Diff the Hudson is really taking shape now. Hopefully you come right with the back section so it looks lekka. Take care boet.

A thousand times better than that Chad idiot!
Like it looks great the bed is going to be some work . I'm looking forward to seeing it all together. 😊
I made my running boards with angle iron frames and bolted in some black painted wood planks it's easy to make the wood look old
Coming together nicely.
Another great vid Diff!
Your vision is starting to become real!
Always looking forward to your videos div
Wow, it’s looking awesome. I wish you was my neighbor we could work on things together. I’ve learned a lot from you already.
