I know you painted this years ago......but,,,,,,,WOW!!!!...it's so realistic in I'd feed it .....the eyes themselves are like wee ponds filled with algae and Lillie's....tiny works of art......I noticed you didn't highlight them with white as I've seen so many times.... because you didn't have to......it's beautiful.... love your talent..... I'm inspired....Ty.....💚
I love your work, I also have fur issues but I keep watching your videos to help me gain some insight into the world of fur! thanks for sharing you give me inspiration to keep working on my pet portraits.
Wow! It's so hard to believe this was done in watercolor! I never see that kind of detail or brushwork in watercolor! You're incredible! Keep up the good work!
Rebecca Rhodes, Watercolor Artist You believe if I attempt to do it as a novice then 10 hours would probably be reasonable? My plan is to begin as a student in your school on the 1st. I like your music choices and calming voice as you teach. 🙂❣️
Excellent painting! Can you please tell me what brush you used and what brand of paint? I would really appreciate it. Thank you for the fantastic tutorial.
Thank you! I am painting on Arches 140 lb watercolor paper that has been soaked, wrapped around, and stapled to Fredrix stretcher bars. When it's dry, it's tight as a drum and fun to paint on. I'm glad you like it!
@@RebeccaRhodesWatercolorArtist Thank you... I am new to water color... I did not realize that you could soak and stretch paper. How are you going to frame that when you're done? Do you remove it from the stretchers or do you frame it with glass and a frame as is?. Sorry so many questions😁
Loved the demo. You asked for ideas to paint. I really want to paint a portrait of the heads of my two samoyeds who died within a week of each other and would welcome a demo on how to paint their fur. Any possibiity of you perhaps doing this? Thanks. Susan
Hi Linda, no - I've never used a watercolor canvas. I use Arches 140 lb. Hot or Cold Press paper. In this video, the Cold Press paper is soaked in water and stapled to Fredrix stretcher strips.
Thanks. I've been trying to do my cat for several years and it doesn't come out quite right. My drawing is getting better, but haven't managed the fur. The tutorial was helpful.
I had a lot of trouble with cats for a long time. I used to paint the fur pretty much in straight lines, but finally figured out that you have to make sure to follow the direction, contour, and length of the fur.

Hi Susan, I'm sorry about your samoyeds. I'll put this on my list of subjects to paint. Thanks!
Thank you very much. If you need a photograph I can supply one of their two heads together.
I would love to see a photo!
I have two very good ones (I think). Where should I send them please?
Hi Rebecca, can you tell me if you use watercolour on a watercolour canvas please?

@@RebeccaRhodesWatercolorArtist can you do a video on your process with the paper turning it into a canvas of sorts....
@@amieegibson1323 Hi Amiee, I learned from Doris Joa. Here's the link to her video: ua-cam.com/video/3DW-6XQevQ8/v-deo.html
May I ask what you mean by "creamy consistency"?
Hi Faith, I mean creamy consistency like the cream in your coffee - just a bit thicker than watery.
Okay. I just started taking painting class this semester in school so this is all new to me. Thank you for responding. :)
Hi Faith, let me know if there is anything that you would like to see - I'm always looking for ideas! Best wishes to you.
What brush are you using for the fur?
Hi Alison, I use a Billy Showell fine tip brush #2.

Could you do a real time video with voice
Louise, It's on my list of things to do.... it's a long list!
