- Taiwan has deployed the most advanced version of the F-16 fighter jet. The addition to its air force comes as Taipei confronts what it calls a "growing military threat" from the Chinese mainland. President Tsai Ing-wen said the new jets showcase the strength of cooperation with the US defence industry.

The F-16 is the most incredible program that I've ever seen, you have a lot of capability here, systems are upgradeable, it's affordable by NATO it's a pocket rocket,, upgrade the avionics and missile systems add stealth packages to it, in a relatively short period of time first aircraft to have fly-by-wire system and composite materials, fuel efficiency is good bomb capability is good and missile systems are absolutely superlative Sidewinder missiles and they're very good, and you could always upgrade the F-16 and it's affordable and what we should be doing in the military industrial complex is billing military and selling it to our allies we don't need a war to sell military technology to grow our military technology base

China is over 5,000 years, BUT Taiwan (then called Formosa) was invaded only in 1683 and only by Qing a NON-HAN-CHINESE state from the north, called the Manchurians. In the Treaty of Shimonoseki 17 April 1895, Taiwan was ceded by Qing to Japan PERMANENTLY. Japan granted residents of Taiwan independence in 1952 in the Treaty of Taipei. Since Mao's PLA lost the battle of Guningtou in 1949, the PRC was never in Taipei when the Treaty of Taipei was signed. So Taiwan is an independent country.
(HK was different. On July 1, 1898, Britain was granted 99 years of rule over some part of the Hong Kong colony. So HK was returned in 1997).
