G1 in Transformers: Beast Machines

- Despite being a controversial series to many fans, they all at least appreciated every reference to the G1 cartoon.

0:38 Soundwave apparently sacrificed himself so that Rumble could escape
Best dad. Once again Soundwave is superior.
The one who ran was Nightscream
the optimus hologram using primal's head makes sense when you remember it was made as a trap by megatron.
2:42 Megatron won that argument. Primal even questioned himself at that time. To bad that hasn't been countered.
A singular mind is venerable to bias' and fallacies, other minds are meant to balance out these traits.
mfw soundwave literally dies
Lol
Soundblaster maybe?
@@davidm4566 New Soundwave!
Kinda surprised they didn't make more unique G1 models, considering how blocky they are compared to the Beast Machines characters.
Budget limitations plus they seriously overdesigned the main cast for beast machines
These are blocky compared to even G1
@@ilyte1guess they were aiming for even more awards.
Fun fact: G1 Optimus' hologram uses 96 Optimus Primal's head.
Oh ya. That is a really weird idea. I figured they would have just used the model they had in season 3 of beast wars.
@@mathewhaight The reason for that was because Mainframe (who animated both Beast shows) lost the head for Prime's model and used Primal's BW S1 head as a quick replacement.
@@Richardblue1963 how the heck they lost a head of the optimus prime model? did it get deleted by accident or something?
@@Richardblue1963somehow that head makes the body look better
It all makes sense now! That head always seemed out of place, yet oddly familiar.
Thanks!
And I have to agree: the original optimus head somehow looked worse...
My first thought when I saw that Megatron had conquered Cybertron was how did he get there before Optimus Primal and the others? It must have been a quirk of Transwarp Drive
Transwarp here reminds me of the Planet of the Apes from around 2000.
You can exit it at one time but arrive earlier. A lit of timely wimey stuff.
That key to vector sigma is very impressive and I love tankor jet and thrust
They did prime dirty in this
I just noticed the hologram of optimus prime uses og primal's head with the mouthplate.
now I cannot unsee it.
the production crew must have lost it during hard drive cleaning or something
They accidentally lost the model of Prime’s head from S3 of Beast Wars so they used Primal’s from S1 of BW to replace it.
@@aaroneclipse514 I'm guessing someone inside the studio doing some hard drive clean up and accidentally deleted the head model
@@brandonvortex995 Most probably. What’s funny though is the statue of Prime at the start of the video had the Head they were looking for. So they must have lost it while working on S2.
When they showed Vector Sigma, I thought that they would reference how it was used in Season 2 of The Transformers on how it gave life to The Ariealbots and Stunticons.
Oops. I forgot to include the Plasma Energy Chamber
Wow, so many epic G1 references. I don't remember Optimus Primal and Nightscream traveling to Iacon though.
I AM NOT INFERIOR!
You now.
In Nightscream's flashback I could tell that a bunch of those bots either looked like Soundwave or Prowl but those 2 bots walking together looked like Transmetal II Dinobot without his shoulder armor, that red one looked like Transmetal Tarantulas without his spider legs or shoulder pads, and that one guy who disappeared in the flash of light looked like Rattrap's first body
Huh, all this time I thought the first Optimus Prime that Gary Chalk voiced was in Armada, but nope, t'was actually in Beast Machines
And before that, Beast Wars.
@@bmadgnashteeth Yeah, but that's Optimus PRIMAL, not Prime
I suppose that also means (for a brief moment) it was also David Kaye's first time in the role too.
I give credit to the Vehicons and Predacon Megatron that they even have respect towards Optimus Prime
TBH, id love a modern remake of the beast wars shows with modern technology. Like a remaster for old albums.
Keep the same voices and just replace the animation.
@@davidm4566 but while keeping most of the style imo
there were plans of making an sequel of Beast Machines when the show ended that being Transformers Transtech in which old g1 characters like optimus prime and starscream would have returned to meet the remaining maximals on the now terraformed cybertron and the return of autobots and decepticons too but sadly the show was only in concept stage and didn't see the light of the day
0:46 Smokescreen head
That’s actually prowl’s head. If you look at the corpse of the prowl model you can tell it’s the same head
Smokescreen has this helmet chin thing
might be silverstreak in blue and grey colorscheme
If the series followed the g1 cartoon, then that is most likely bluestreak's head. Prowl was killed in the movie, and bluestreak's fate wasn't shown.
@bri55118, but in delete screen, the original wheeljack die body wasn't supposed to be there. Instead, the smokescreen die body was apparent, but it was deleted
I wonder what ever happened to Optimus and Galvatron.
In the comic "Dawn of Predacus" they both died in battle. The comic takes place during the end of the great war.
@@NightNight202and hot rod and ultra magnus?
@@zeta5330 no one knows
Prime was gonna return in TRANSTEACH
If we consider the Japanese continuity Galvatron froze and Scorponok died in Headmasters and Super-God Masterforce respectively, Rodimus became a Micromaster, Galvatron became Super Megatron, but Super Megatron got disassembled and died again. (Check Tfwiki for more information)
I'd like Beast Machines if the designs weren't...that. It had some cool ideas and callbacks though.
I already really like BM, but it would be nicer if the relations between maximals weren't so much ,,raaaa saasssyy grrrr I am an a-hole grrr" so often
It was weird when they seemed to have gotten better but the next episode they are slightly more mean to eachother T_T
Regarding to designs, I agree but just the maximal ones probably (and some of megatron's)
Edit: aaand I just got reminded of the maximal personalities in general
Man, Beast Machines was so cool with the stuff it brought back. If only it translated the main characters a little better, it could've been just as good - if not better than Beast Wars
Although Gary Chalk is alright as Optimus Prime, Peter Cullen is still the best.
Transformers Beast Machines Cartoon: Maximals: Optimus Primal, Rattrap, Cheetor, Blackarachnia, Nightscream, Rhinox, Silverbolt, Botanica, Vehicons: Megatron, Diagnostic Drone, Jetstorm, Tankor, Thrust, Obsidian, Strika, Predacons: Waspinator, Others: The Oracle, Savage/Noble
I wish they revealed where the Autobot Matrix of Leadership was?
Probably no more
@@arnelanat3578There were 2 actual Maximal primes in Japanese Beast Wars, Lio Convoy(Prime) and Big Convoy(Prime)
I hear Sigma.
💀💀
3:31 I'm sure millions of fans would have loved it if Peter Cullen came back to do the voice of hologram Prime.
But since the Beast Shows were recorded in Canada, it wouldn’t have been possible to have Peter Cullen to voice Optimus unless remote voice acting was invented in the 90s.
beast machines g1 smokescreen
beast machines g1 sweeps
I forgot hownugly this show was, yet to their credit they were very experimental and were really trying.
Man I love Beast Machines soundtrack...
I wish there was a playlist of pure it...
They just released a new album consisting of some of the show's music. It's available to watch on UA-cam. 7/10 playlist.

I loved Beast Wars but hated this show so much. Another “oh Optimus prime is the best”…even with G1/G2 I never understood why people liked the lame ass autobots and especially him. They were so fucking boring. The decepticons at least were interesting turned into much cooler things (guns, weapons, jets, construction vehicles, etc.). When I rewatch the original series I skip over all the human and autobot scenes. The only good thing about this show was that overall Megatron was winning from the beginning.
How dare you
