This channel is money. You're are providing a perspective that a lot of gamers are looking for and backing it up with credibility. I also enjoy the simplicity of your presentation and how matter-of-fact you are. Keep up the great work! You earned a sub!
Amazing comparison, have seen most of your headphone videos and really enjoyed the presentation. Hope to see more videos from you on this subject, would be great if you can do a yearly ranking video of headphones for gaming, like some do with the laptops (S, A, B, C, D, E, F Tier).
Dude I loved your orochi vid it’s what made me order one! This channel is exactly what I’m all about rn. I randomly found it again when looking up this exact comparison and was like (click.)
This is amazing, I had the 6xx for a while, looking for an upgrade since I started diving into the black hole. This is what I needed. Appreciate your efforts
560s isnt much of an upgrade for 6xx, most people would say 6xx is better than 560s unless you're a producer or someone looking to not enjoy listening experiences as much and just analyze and interpret audio, depends what youre going for.
@@eggtastic3555 It's subjective for sure. The 560s are MUCH better for gaming when compared to the 6XX, they have better soundstage & imaging compared to the 6XX. The 560s also cover a wider range of music genres in my experience, where as the 6XX tend to be too warm/smooth for genres like EDM/Dance music.
@@Justfillintheblank yeah i got the 560s, theyre okay, i didnt like the lack of bass at first but the clarity and soundstage made up for it, i need to get an amp dac stack to truly make them live up to their potential but so far, with my astro mixamp, theyre not bad.
@@eggtastic3555 Yeah they do benefit from a dedicated dac/amp. And with one, I think they have a good amount of bass personally.
@@Justfillintheblank the bass issue may have been that i just came off of using a gaming headset, and as you know, theyre known for their iconic "drowning everything out with bass" attribute, but i just used dolby atmos to compensate for it, its perfect on the music setting. Theyre hyper comfortable as well and feel like nothing after a while, the transparency or open backness is the only issue as i always have background noise, i made a change that reduced it but its always gonna remain as long as i have a fan running. I needed to see what the hype was about with audiophiles and their headphones, not bad.
Thank you so much for this great review! I finally managed to make a decision fora headphone for competitive fps gaming with your help!
What exactly is that headphone connected to the 560s ? The 560s doesn’t come with a microphone as far as I know right? Is that a detachable mic?
I use a cable I got from Amazon by ABLET. It's a boom mic cable compatible with the HD598
appreciate the awesome review. just got the 560s. also, you're a hell of a shot!
Thank you so much. Literally just order the h560s. I have sone dt990 pro headsets and love em, but i feel in my games like apex, things are being lost in all the action.
The fact you are actually showing gameplay and telling us your experience is exactly what i needed.
Just gained another sub, really nice video, finally someone who is an actual pro that speaks about the best directional headset
I would like to know your opinion on the hd 560s vs hd 660s, im on the fence on getting the 560s or waiting to get an "end game" mid to high range headphone, i plan on pairing it with the Ifi zen dac v2 and can stack but will start with the zen dac v2 and use my current epos h6 pro even tho they are easy to drive headphones
Is it possible for you to make a video of only the pc38x for warzone directional audio? Footsteps
Great video. Nice to see someone review headsets from a gaming perspective and not purely for snobbish audiophiles. Even though I'm the snobby audiophile ;) Might I recommend giving the Dan Clark AEON Flow RT Open a try. It's planar magnetic and I find the soundstange and positional audio to be fantastic. I can't compare it to the 560s directly, but I can tell you it's far superior to the Sennheiser 58x and 6XX. There is an AEON 2 but I find for the extra price it would not be worth any marginal benefit you might get.
oh my.. You just nailed it. I've finally come to the right place. Yes, I subscribed after I've watched two of your reviews on headphones for gaming.
So incredibly tempted to pick the 560S up, just worried they won't be a justifiable switch from my old DT 880 (which a lot of people compare it to and say they're similar, but you're the only "gamer-gamer" who actually goes properly into useful stuff like FPS soundstage).
I feel like I've only had that true "wallhack headphones" experience once(!) in my life, and that was almost 20 years ago now playing Soldier of Fortune II multiplayer at a friend's house; a relatively cheap Koss headset I had plugged into his little brother's onboard audio(!!) was just insane, I could hear and pinpoint absolutely everything. Never had anything close to that since, and I'm pretty much resigned to not really hearing where anyone is anymore, just using experience to interpolate as soon as I hear anything...
Your previous video has brought my hopes up so high by talking about _exactly_ what I've chased for soon plural decades (geez...) and know can be done! So scared of having my dreams crushed and sitting there with two $200+ headphones for no reason 😅
Great reviews by the way, loving the channel. Found it researching the Viper 8KHz and you helped tip the scale towards getting it (and I'm SO pleased with it! ...aside from having to unplug & reinsert it on every cold boot for some reason, apparently common problem).
Thank you! If you get the headphones make sure it's somewhere you can return them if you end up feeling the price point does not justify the advantage!
Soldier of Fortune... man that brings back memories haha
A year late I know but I’m so close to pulling the trigger on them. What are your thoughts now and do you still recommend them?
Brilliant comparison!
Can you compare the hd560s with the Takstar hd2050 (or his clone, the isk hi2010) and the Takstar pro 82?
The hd2050 are the open back version of the Takstar Pro 80 which is the model from which the hyperX cloud 2 were based on.
The takstar Pro 82 is the model from which the cooler master mh751/mh752's where based on.
They are both very affordable headphones with amazing build quality and great sound.
I think they diserve more attention.
I own both and I was thinking about getting the hd560s but don't know if that's going to be an upgrade or I'm going to be disappointed.
I play on consoles exclusively, do you think the hd560's are going to work well plugged to the controller, or they need an amp?
Thanks for the amazing comparisons. 🙏
It's a relief to hear you say that you didn't get the same imaging and audio separation and being able to pick out sounds with a lot going on with the PC38X. I have those and I feel the same.
I just bought the 560s and hearing you say you CAN hear more distinction is great news. I haven't received the headphones yet, but that is what I partly was hoping for. More "clear sound and resolution" of the sound.
@@subarashii1613 honestly fresh is on the money with these reviews. The only thing you should now look out for is "comfort" out of his picks and comfort can be subjective especially if you're getting iems.

Hd560s and dt900 pro have a huge difference or doesnt worth the money dif?
Hi guys great video ! I am gaming with my CA Andromedas which are great for stereo imaging but not for gaming ( vertical ). I have used my Meze Empyrean but need to drive them with hugo 2 which works well but not brilliantly so I am wondering how you think these would compare to eg hd 600, DT 900 pro x or AT AtH70x? Mostly for cs2, tarkov, insurgent sandstorm. Any ideas ?
definitely helped me to choose these
Not really related to the headphones but how do you find the mic quality to be. For me using it in discord it is fine because discord filters out the buzzing somehow but if I clip using shadowplay or medal the buzzing noise can be heard. I don't know if it is a problem with my amp/dac or if it is just how the microphone is?
i cant thank you enough for these vids. so valuable coming from someone that actually plays games and is good at them. ive been looking to replace my hd700s and after watching all your vids you have sold me on the 560s.
Thanks for your channel. This is the real game review. I sold my HD660S, gave up buying HD800S, bought HD560S, and plan to sell dt1990
hello, I want to buy hd 560s, will relatives hear the sound from the headphones, they are open type. And more interestingly, the microphone will pick up sound from the speakers? I liked your review.

would u recommend the 560s for apex and also watching and listening to movies?
I currently have the hyperx cloud IIs with the 3.5 to USB dac that comes with it. Ive been considering trying an open-back headset for Hunt Showdown; its a cytek game that uses stereo sound. I think I hear well with the current closed back set. However Ive got 125$ gift card and thought maybe ill put it towards a second option for when the wife isn't in the same room ( So I don't drive her Crazy) and try open-back out. Ive got a blue mic so the PC gaming version isn't ness. But this version is on sale at my local Guitar center. Would the 560s be an upgrade just plugged into my cloud II dac? or should I not waste the money?
I’m thinking you probably wouldn’t get enough volume through the usb dac. Might be worth a try, but I don’t think it would fly
Would you say the 560s are better than dt990 pros? I currently running the Dt990 Pros and wanting to see what the next upgrade could be if there is one?
@@FreshReviewsYT Thanks man, Is there anything you have found which are better than the 560s? Also amp recommendation?

Great review! Do you need do to any tweaking within the OS to get the sound working properly as you describe it, or is it just working out-of-the-box?
Could you maybe try the hd660s? Not seen a review about gaming for them, and I feel like you would know
Would I need an amp/dac to power these from my pc?
great comparison! Just curious, did you use the balanced or analytical pads on the dt1990’s?
THANK YOU!
out of curiosity what audio option were you using in warzone when testing the 560's (high or low boost) ?
This is a late comment but try boost low. I’ve found footsteps are very clear
Just bought the 560s from Best buy Canada for $199. The DT1990Pro cost basically $1,000 Canadian dollars. I am sure they are amazing, but even if they would have been better in gaming. There is no way to justify 5x the cost for maybe slight improvement. But you said 560s was better for gaming. So good choice I guess. In reality it's not hard to see since Sennheiser is king when it comes to mid-range (not talking price but audio). The mids are the best. Beyerdynamics often have v-shaped sound. Of course not all cans they make. Still.
DT990 Pro or HD560S? For competitive gaming like Siege and Valorant? Which one you prefer?
I'm curious what headphone amp you're using. I really don't have a dog in the fight, but its possible that the soundstage and presentation is a bit weak if you're plugging directly into your computer.
Both of these could benefit from a basic headphone amp like the schitt fulla 4, and that may account for some of the difference.
Hi Fresh! After your review, I bought the hd560s with the Sharkoon DAC pro s. The Music experience is on another level than my hyperx cloud 2. But I'm not used to the gaming sound experience. Everything sounds "spacial" and Im not sure if thats what I was looking for. Do I have to use these for like atleast 2 weeks to be able to completely enjoy them while playing games? Are other "open back headphones" any different from these? Hoping for your reply!
I haven’t used a sharkon, but it will take time for your ears to adjust to how the sound cues sound and feel
Very great review, as i was looking for an upgrade to my headphone(cloud alpha) that just doesn't cater to gamers but as someone who wanted to experience sound/music more, im glad I also seen this review that it can also give an advantage in imaging in games!
I've tried the DT 1990 PRO a few years back, I found the sound signature was too harsh to me. What amp/dac do you recommend for my AKG712 PRO. Currently using a Mayflower ARC MK1.
I recommend you something like asgard 3 and modi 3+, but stuff like dx3pro+ is nice too
What mod mic attachment do you recommend for the 560s?

How do you set yours up for gaming? With an amp? I’ve never used a mic quite like this just wondering
Could you compare the 560s to the beyerdynamic tygr 300r or the HiFiman Sundara for hearing footsteps in warzone
This is what I want to know since its around the same price as the 560s.
@@ippothedestroyer I have both tygr 300 and dt 990. I'm about to get 1990 soon but I prefer 990 over the tygr cause it sounds more clear and I can pinpoint where people were. Tygr had too much bass for me and it seemed to drown out the treble I don't know. But I prefer 990
@@fitfrek Hmm that is very weird for beyer to call the tygr 300r a gaming headphone. I have a dt 1990, its a very good headphone, very clear. Its great in tarkov.
@@ippothedestroyer I have sundaras and 560s. Go with 560s, the imaging is pin point accurate. I do tend to enjoy the sundaras more for non competitive gaming though. But the 560s is still a great gaming headset just be warned they're very accurate to its source and certain games can be poorly mixed and have way too much emphasis in the treble (probably sound designed for console gaming). In those cases the 560s can sound painful, examples: horizon zero dawn, ori and the will of the wisps. The sundaras have a much smoother high end and can bring down some of the harshness from poorly mixed games. You could also pair the 560s with a hybrid tube amp to smooth out that treble and keep a clean signal.
Did you experience any fatigue because of treble/ bright sound stage in game on the 560s or no?
(and if so is it better with the 900 pro x?)
Hey bro are you using dac for this gaming setup ?
The HD660s could be better. It has very similar driver. I doubt it's worth paying double, but it's still cheaper than the dt1990.
What would be more interesting though, would be to find out how dependent on a good dac/amp the HD560s are. Maybe try a common behringer interface, the schiitt fulla 4 and the motu m2?
Hey man! Found this video while searching for a mic for my 560s. Just curious if you feel like that ablet boom Mic lowers your audio quality at all...or has the potential to? I'm not too spun up on audio technology...thanks!
Is that a vmod boom pro attached to the 560s at the end of the video? A great review as it was based on your gaming experience. Am looking into the 560s or SHP9600 as a replacement to my old headset. I am no pro gamer but just wanted to try something better from my previous one.
Late but from the description, it's the Ablet mic. HD560s have a locking 2.5mm port which the Ablet supports. The SHP9500 will work with the v-moda directly (but the v-moda will not work with the HD560s without a proper adapter)
Do you have any experience or thoughts about the Beyer 1770's? They are supposed to be painfully clinical to listen to music.
Hey man a great covered and high detailed review 👍 you should try out the hifiman 5xx drop for a comparison 👍
Do you have an eq going for the dt1990? Is powered by a dedicated amp? The v shaped signature sounds very unusual for them.
have you tried dt 990 pro
tygr 300 r ?
how would you compare the 560s to those

Hey! Nice Videos. What about HD560S vs DT 900 Pro?
Hi, this is off the topic of this video but I need your opinion on the choice. I got the FiiO Q3 on sale and I'm going to use it for a while with the Superlux HD681. I can't decide which model I should get for a headphone upgrade. I'm torn between the Sennheiser HD560S and HD58X. Do you think these models are a good upgrade compared to the Superlux? Since I listen to a lot of different genres of music, I don't like headphones that are too prominent in a certain tone, that have a V-Shape with too much treble and bass, that have a muddy or harsh sound. What's important to me is that the sound is close to flat, with high resolution and a wide stage. The FiiO Q3 is said to have a warm sound. Which model do you think I would get a better sound with? What would be your personal preference in this case. I would appreciate your answer, thanks in advance.
Ordered 1990 recently and was disappointed. There's significant rumble in right earcup in the lower frequencies. Before that I was using 990 for a long time, and there were no problems. So eventually I had to order Sennheiser 660S2. It's totally impossible to work with this rumble with 1990
Thanks for the review! I have been using it for 2 days now in combination with a Steelseries Gamedac on PS5 and am verry satisfied. My only problem is the 2.5 mm audio jack. I have orderd a new one from Ugreen, and am going to buy the Boom Mic from Beyerdynamic. So I have to modify it a little to turn it in to a headset. What mic are you using? Thanks in advance.
I’m using an all in one ablet boom mic from amazon. It’s a 2.5 mm cable and works great!

Also it could be a really nice 1vs1 with the Sundaras vs 560s for a new video
Fantastic video! Exactly what I've been looking for in terms of a great high tier gaming experience from the hd560s (mainly regarding clarity, Soundstage and imaging). I see you have a specific dac/amp you use and another cheaper one you recommended down below as well. I was curious what benefits these dac/amps provide for the hd560s specifically (regarding the same qualities listed before). I don't fully understand their functionally but I do know that the impedance of hd560s is 120ohm which I've read isn't very difficult to drive/power effectively. Overall what major benefits would be provided by using an external dac/amp let alone one more expensive (like the ones you use/listed) compared to the base motherboard option. Once again loved the video, and will be definitely checking out more on the channel! Also the motherboard I have the aorus elite x570, so nothing special but still a relatively new mid range board (2019-2020 I think, roughly around 200-250 dollars).
Are you going to review the VZR Model One and the Audeze Maxwell? Please do! 🙏
So.i want to get the mayflower mk2. But I was also looking at the schiit hel. I'm so confused.
I stumbled upon your channel recently and just wanted to say you've done great reviews and I really like this competitive audio series! I've been on a similar quest over the past couple of years and tried many of the same headphones (including the HD800s) you have and reached similar conclusions. I do have a question for you on this one - When you tested the 1990s were you using the balanced or analytical ear pads? Balanced pads are on by default, and they have more bass than the analytical pair. I'd be curious to know your thoughts on the analytical pads and potentially the aftermarket Dekoni Elite Velour which are a well-regarded pair of aftermarkets that sound great on the 1990s as well.
Ty!! I tested both pads but I’ve given good thought in buying them again and testing them with dekoni pads
@@FreshReviewsYT Ah ok. In that case, were you thinking the 1990s also had a bit too much bass to pick out lots of audio cues at once, even with the analytical pads on? Looking forward to your next videos :)
Is it time to do a comparison between headphones and iems?
Assuming both are the same price on Ebay, which would you go with?
What are/were you using for the mic with the 560s?

Surprising that the 560s rate so well when Sennheiser's have generally lackluster imaging and narrow soundstage.
You’re totally right. Many reviewers have indicated that the 560s are a big departure from this though. Less bass drop off and better imaging.
Which vmoda mic is that? There's currently two available
How did you put the microphone on the 560? What is the name of this mic? And what mic do you recommend? Thank you, great video
It's a cable connected to a cable that goes directly in the headset. I linked it a few times I believe - brand ABLET on Amazon

I am considering upgrading my headset. At the moment, I own the Beyerdynamic DT 990 Edition 250 ohms running them with the FiiO K5 Pro, but they are lacking a bit in gaming, possibly because of the high treble or something. Been interested in the DT 1990 Pro. Would I see any difference between the two, as my primary use case will be gaming. I used to have Sennheiser HD 558, but I didn't really like them. Thanks!

what are your thoughts about the boom mic cable for the HD560s, I believe they call it the ABLET.
Great comparison! How would the HD560S compare to DT770 Pro? I have the Tygr 300R AutoEQ'd, but my friend with the ATH-M50x hears footsteps further away much earlier than I do. Would getting the HD560S or DT770 be an improvement?
(Understand open vs closed back, but interested in performance in the above situation)
Thanks!
For anyone that’s interested, I purchased the 560S and they do have better separation and clarity than the TYGR 300R - tested only on Hunt: Showdown. The difference isn’t massive but it’s there. Having a flat signature makes a positive impact on clarity especially with a ton of overlapping noise at different frequencies - doesn’t get muddled. However the vertical positioning - while decent, doesn’t beat the TYGR 300R (e.g. whether sounds are coming from above/below/same level). I miss the Tygr’s accurate positioning in some situations. If only I could quickly swap back and forth 😊
My very broad ratings - based on my 2 key considerations in Hunt: Showdown (competitive FPS) -
HD 560S: Excellent separation and clarity (5/5). Good positional/directional audio (4/5).
TYGR 300R: Excellent positional/directional audio (5/5). Good separation and clarity (4/5).
Btw for those unaware, this game is renowned for its audio detail, among other things.
Thanks for your comments, I’m actually deciding in between both of these headphones right now. I’ve ordered both to try them out. Do you run a DAC/AMP, and if so which one? I’m struggling to pick those right now.
I use the FiiO BTR5 (2021). I find I need to turn up the volume when using the TYGRs, so yea definitely get the DAC/AMP if you decide on these.
I'd be interested to hear your thoughts on the comparison after you get the headsets!
