- Welcome to my review video of the new MiG 29 Fulcrum by Deimos Inc. In this short video I review and fly the MiG 29 that is a payware file for MSFS2020 and released March 17th 2022 on the MSFS market place. This is a short review of a take off, flight and landing at Sydney Australia with the addons of Sydney Cityscape and Sydney International Airport from Orbx. Enjoy.

Is there any chance there will be a cockpit update to neaten things up and higher poly counts for the bar that wraps around the top (too make it smoother) and add little details? Other than that the plane is my favorite!!! Better flight model than the f 16 in my opinion and i appreciate your work you put in man 💯

just bought the mig 29 and love it very fast love all the livery options and the smoke and the parachute just add to it thanks for the review helped with my choice a lot thanks.

Very nice! I don't know a lot about the Soviet fighters so I looked this one up and it sounds like amazing performance for such older technology, and it was on sale for $9.99 so I'm downloading it now.

Great overview video! I wish you could open the canopy. I would have also preferred to just have no extra fuel tanks. Overall, I think it is a great addition, especially with all of the skins/liveries.

Yeah thanks, it turns out you can open and close the canopy when the engines are off but not when they have been started. That is why I could not close it. I forgot to change the fuel tanks taking them off and adding them.

Russian planes don't have toe brakes they use differential braking by squeezing the hand brake and applying rudder in the direction of turn. The nose wheel is free castering. The Spitfire works the same way as well as the DHC-1 Chipmunk and many others

What speeds are you getting when you max out? Are there settings you can change? Msfs marketplace listing said Mach 2.25 I can’t even get up to 1000 knots unless I’m diving or something- kind of disappointing but I like the jet overall
I will check again, I have afterburner toggle set to a button on my throttle, check and see if yours is even coming on.
I've been flying the plane for a while now and have this same issue I love the plane I would like to see a speed bump in both the mig and the su57 and in the mig it likes to stay pitched up even with trim I'd like that to be updated too
I know I’m late to the party but i noticed barometric pressure and air temp seem to have a huge affect on all aircraft top speeds. When it’s below freezing i reached over 1400 knots in the MiG
So, this is well after the fact, but the top speed is based off of what altitude you're flying at. At high altitudes, your indicated airspeed might read something like 400 kts, but if you look at your ground speed, it'll read something like 650 kts.
If you're at something like 10k feet, you're not going to be hitting those mach numbers. That stands true for virtually any aircraft on MSFS on that note. The sweet spot for most fighter jets tends to be roughly between ~24,000 to ~34,000 depending on the aircraft. (Some may need to be higher to hit top speed, such as the Concord.) There's something of a sweet spot you need to be at in terms of altitude. That's also likely based off of a slick configuration with no drop tanks.
So… if you start from cold and dark cockpit i suppose that you want to click all the button.
Well not click them all but always see what is clickable and what is not so others can see how much detail they are getting or not. So far good job with this one Riky. 👍

I have been able to get it to fly over 80k feet so yes.
Mate if it was this or the felon which is best interior etc? They are both the same price currently and it’s been a long time since this video. Any chance you can tell me which is best for the money or even make a quick video comparing the two with today’s updates?
I already have the flanker which I like flying.
My only gripe with the developer is the hud green goes outside the glass hud screen but I emailed him and he said he will look at a way to be able to change the size which would be unreal. Anyway, fulcrum or felon for the money?
I know that the developer is reworking all his aircraft this one included with updated and even completely overhauled cockpits. I will wait until that's released for making a new video myself. I do think this 29 is an awesome aircraft for the hangar. Felon after the update or when on sale too. Collect them all 😁
That’s the issue they are both the same price now. 15 bucks Australian. It would appear all the updates happened as all my Deimos planes just got an update. Do you think the 29 is better now?
@@ejectejecteject each update either fixes changes by Asobo or are imprisonments, I know there are still more major imprisonments coming.
How do I enable the G indicator in external HUD? Shows up for the other fighter jets but not this one. What gives?
OK this is my best guess as to where to find it for this aircraft. If you are like me and have the Steam version go to this folder \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Official\Steam\deimosinc-fulcrum\SimObjects\Airplanes\fulcrum (if you have MS store go to your community folder and up a level to official folder) then find the cockpit.cfg and use notepad to find this line.

You will need to change the 0 to 1 to turn it on.
I think that should turn it on for you. Let me know how you go. I have not tried it myself as I also do not use outside HUD.

I'm hearing impaired and rely on the subtitles. When you had the engine powered on the automatic subtitles failed most of the time because your voice wasn't loud enough.
Oh no, ok. I'll try to make sure the mic is louder next time. Might also see if I can add subtitles myself.
I have edited the subtitles (English) and they should be good now (when processed). Sorry I might have had the volume a little too high for this recording. Maybe also the mic a bit further away than usual
Great video Brett but hard to hear you outside the aircraft.
I noticed after, I spent over an hour editing the English subtitles last night to try to fix/over come that issue
Flies upside down very well. Brakes are weak. Smoke eats up a lot of frames.

Try thrust reverse on landing it helps a whole lot
on the right under the lantern is a red switch --- close the lantern
what does that do? Lantern? is that a light switch or are you referring to the canopy?

I have mine set to a button on my flight stick, it is spoilers in options.
Just bought mig 29, anyone know how I can turn normally and not opposite? For example left is right and I want left is turn left. Also on xbox if that helps? Thank you.
check that control axis does not need inverting in controls. Is it all good for other aircraft? Also did you restart the sim or xbox after installing it first?

This aircraft was released a few months before the Top Gun Maverick DLC was released. Not sure what file it uses.

I think from memory this is a Mach 2 aircraft and the g39 is Mach 1.8 in sim. I would have to check but that's what I remember from flying them both.
if you buy a plane what does everyone else see?
Pending on what plane you buy if they do not have it installed then they will see either a small one prop GA, two prop GA, twin engine small private jet or full size comercial A320 style jet. Pretty much using the AI aircraft you see flying around already.
How do u buy planes if u live in Australia won’t let me buy cause there all American places
Not sure where you are from but I can buy straight from the in sim market place. I also have access to buy from Europe and USA through other websites.

@@reeganwinsor365 sound like something to do with your profile setting Are you using it on game pass version or purchased? Not sure if it is restricted purchases if on game pass version. Might need to google that one. Also are you over 18 as maybe your xbox profile is age restricted if under 18? Otherwise I have no idea.

Too bad about the model. The cockpit is more than modest and unrealistic.

It’s so uncontrollable is it me or the plane
xbox or pc? Are you flying on Modern Flight mode or changed it to Legacy? At what speeds does it fail? If pc and you have updated it recently try going into your content manager in the sim and delete/uninstall the file. Restart the sim and go back to your contents manager and download the aircraft fresh. If that works please let us know here.
The quality is horrendous! I'm looking forward to playing dcs when I get a decent pc.
I have it in DCS too, a lot more fun being able to shoot things down.
@@BrettPlays Yeah, I really want to fly the mirage f1 when I get dcs. F1 is such a beautiful bird with an interesting history.
How are you even supposed to perform a cobra in this if the aircraft quite literally breaks apart. Also why does the it just randomly start moving forward on the runway. The sounds suck. And the cockpit detail is bad. The physics are terrible. It’s literally only getting love cause it’s got a spotlight thanks to Ukraine.
Yeah hopefully my review you got to see before buying and it helps you make up your mind.
It does break easily and I'm not sure if the flight model is based on actual data. Also, can't understand why there's no G indicator in the external HUD.
The Migs and Sukhois are made to perform those Maneuvers. nun of them never fell apart lol and they're being modified to continue its service time.

@@elitewavez4768 No☠️they don't. Mig 29 is a pretty good fighter jet. You just see them in the hands of untrained Iraqi Pilots and see them get blown outta the sky in Ukraine.

Poor model....but for 10.0 $ not much to see...
It's not expensive and on sale often. I do know that the cockpit is going to be getting a whole rebuild soon too. It is not a premium plane but also not a premium price.
