Finally a connecting mechanism to rival the ease of packout. Way better than the other competitors’ side latching designs

    • @meme5887
      @meme5887 7 місяців тому +8

I love packout. But I have to admit, the sliding in and out to lock becomes a negative when you have a really heavy box or moving multiple at once (weight) as you really need to keep a good foot on the base holding point.

Biggest deal to me is the shape of the interior space. It's the squarest interior of any box that I've seen, which means making inserts is going to be easy. I hate Milwaukee and DeWalt for having the most absurd shapes I've ever seen with webbing in the worst places. It's more expensive than the Ridgid, but honestly I really like it and will probably switch over.

Yeah, I'm kinds thinning I may switch from packout. Been wanting a cheaper option. I figure I could sell my packout, buy these and burger with the money. But, I got a few packout drawers, so need to wait for those.

They should have started with drawers. That “transporter” thing that rolls them up onto your truck real fast is the coolest thing to come out in a while. I might get that and just mod it for my ridgids and tstaks

Just hit those stickers with a heat gun as you peel it off and the glue will stay with the sticker instead of on the box. Not too close or hot. Just wave the heat gun on one side until you get it to come free, then just keep waving the gun over the sticker as you peel it off. Quick and easy.

    • @parelt

Great review 👍🏼!!

I bought the ToughBuilt yesterday. My first impression was it is very well built, solid like a tank. My second impression is it weighs as much as a tank. Even empty, these are a load to move around.
On the plus side, the rolling box is about an inch shorter than other rolling boxes and with the handle able to come off easy, this fits in my truck bed even with the tonneau cover (Honda Ridgeline -which is a bit shallower then a full size truck).

  • @user-ff5px3gm3l

I have a few of the Tough Built belt bags and tools. I have noticed that the quality is great. Frankly I’m a line surprised that that don’t get more attention…. But this? This will blow out everything else. The accessories that are coming are on off the chain! I have Ridgid Gen 2 totes but finding components send a daunting task with little to no results.
Everybody else better up there games because whole setup is a major game changer.

Wayyyy better than ridgid, dewalt, flex, and just as good if not better than Milwaukee. • @duncdunc76

Great one TRZ! This is what I've been waiting for. As I'm watching im wondering about the price though. I've got Dewalt 1.0 and 2.0. I've also got the Craftsman tradestack. I've looked at all the boxes out there and these are the most exciting to me. If the price is right this might replace my Dewalt 2.0 boxes. The single lid latch is convenient and the way the rolling box handle detaches is a great design as there is nothing sticking up above the actual box height which is superior to other removable handles imo. I love that they have half boxes and totes already in the initial offering as well. And with the crate and 2 parts organizers there initial release is great. Drawers will be the next big plus if they offer them but for a basic system their initial offerings are super solid. I agree the latch system for attaching the boxes together seems to be a great design and very convenient. If the system is durable and reliable this could be the next best budget or mid level box system if it's budget is reasonable. It's gotta be less expensive then the premium boxes though. At least for a while to get people into it. Then maybe if it ends up being the cats meow, they can really expand the line and start price competing with the premium boxes. But for now working people need solid boxes with features like this ones got that woulnt break the bank. We all ain't got budgets like business owners and high paid Sparkies that can afford Milwaukee prices lol.

I think the system is unique.
    1. The style of locking the boxes is not something others are doing.
    2. The metal corners have real potential.
It appears to be built solid. Only time will tell.
    3. If Touch Built follows through with the number of pieces they are saying they are going to offer, then they will be a real contender and there at the Lowe's.
    4. Down side, there made in Chinn-er 😢. You know, the country that keeps swinging are government's credit card as we irresponsibly dig a deeper det hole for ourselves as a country. You now CHINA.
It would have been nice if it was made in a country that does not wish to see us crushes.

I use 3 Tool totes for my hand Tools and Two dozen tool bags and 6+ cases for my electric and specialty tools
I just grab the totes and bags/case I need for the job.
I don't need to take a stack of tools I don't need with me on the job site all the time and I also see a time waster to reload fasteners onto storage boxes I have to lug around all the time and I also see time and work space waisted unloading just to get to the bottom case or need to get something out of every case all the time.
With a separate tool case or bag, I just zip up the bags and close the case at the end of the day.
They are also less intimidating to the customer, since most of my bags are Black or Tan with just 5 having any tool brand name on them.
If I started wheeling in a cluster stack of tool boxes coming at them in one BIG STACK inside the house and hope it do t have dirty or wet wheels rolling into the house or building then afterwords, and they are thinking, oh boy, what did I get myself into with this guy $?$?$?
And I hope my neighbors aren't watching this tool box monstrosity coming into the house at one time and thinking we have a major disaster in the house, Plus getting it in and out of the truck all the time and strapping it down in the truck due to the weight of everything in The stack pack is more time and money and truck space wasted in my view,if I had everything that's in bags in a stack system of any kind?
It wouldn't be worth it to me.
The bags are cheeper and they don't slide and don't need to be strapped down and stackable in a much smaller space.
The cases are mixed in with the bags and totes so they don't slide around in the truck, 👍
I really don't have to deal with with keeping a large assortment of fasteners on the truck.
    the customer buys the materials,
And the customer gets what's left over?, including fasteners, calk and paint.
So My boss and I don't spend money wasted on free fasteners all the time or some other customers fasteners and supplies on other builds.
I have a Stanley stack pack for my old DeWalt battery tool set and it's a pain in loading up in the truck and load and unload the boxes all the time and just stacking and unstacking the four boxes
the top box has all the batteries and chargers so I have to Get a battery out of top big box, and set that aside, get the saw/drill, or fastener out of the next box and set all of that a side get another tool box that has the attachments for the tools an extra parts for them as well set that aside ,finally open the last box to get to the tool I needed and that Stanley tool box system doesn't even have enough room for all the tools and the extras are in another box that doesn't hook up to the that box stack system.
I'm thinking on going all bags with that also instead of a stacking box system.
With my new set of DeWalt tools I have them in bags they came with them, the tool, batteries, charger and bits or saw blades are all in the bags and easier to grab the type of tool I need in a bag.
Even though I have a lot of Tools in the old style battery system with a lot of batteries that still work and hold charges really well,I don't take it out on the job much due to weight of lugging that Stanley stack system around.
It has good wheels and once it's on the ground it's not real big problem, but weighs about 70+ lb to move around all the time and gets old fast Just to use a drill or some other one off tool in the box
    And somebody may add?
Well, you can just take the drill or other tools in separately and you don't need or want to take everything in.
If I'm bringing in the drill or other on lone power tool, why not have all the stuff needed with me in one lightweight bag, same with any other tool I need ?
Or someone may add that I can put the bag in this box system and lug even more waight around an more time wasted opening the box and the bag let alone opening and closing boxes and shuffling around boxes either stacking and unstacking in the truck or on the job site.
That's not productive and vary expensive in my veiw.
    Err
Nope,I'll pass, I'll just grab a bag or tote and go 👍

Lol I just made a comment saying that this system needs to be more afforable then Packout for it to catch on as not all of us, actually most of us out their in the trades don't have the budgets of business owners or high paid Sparkies.
