We need to move away from afforestry, so many plantations stand fallow and are not used properly anyway, we really do not need more afforestry in this world. Please DON'T plant your invasive, non native trees in natural habitats. They screw up ecosystems, cost tons of money to remove if they grow out of control and they suck up much more water than natural vegetation and negatively impact the water table.
