Used to go here to watch the ama ccs motorcycle races. Great track
Wow I can remember running BMW club events there back in 1994-1995. What a great track it was. It’s a crime that they closed it a true piece of Motorsport history .
I was there too. all the local hotel parking lots lined with m3s like mine
I’m from London, UK! Love driving this track on Assetto Corsa, it’s one of my faves! Sad to see it like this now :( I would of loved to have come and see a race there!
I drove in the 1971 3hr IMSA GT race. It was a quite challenging course
, especially the downhill turn at the end of the straight.
My boyfriend used to travel 1,000 miles to race at Bridgehampton, his Uncle raced there in the 1950’s, and was on track when the bridge collapsed!
I wish this was still active, it would be only circuit less than 90 minutes away and I don't have to pay a toll.
It's one of my favorite track in assetto corsa! I didnt knew it wasnt a race circuit anymore until yesterday. It make me sad and angry.
Thanks for this! Is my favourite sim track in rFactor 2.
Iconic circuit, what a loss!
Its an interesting story. Nice work.
Wow. Didn’t know about that place. Cool story.
Motorcycle Road Racing that is.
Such a good track. When I first saw the circuit I thought it was an old track in Europe, "probably U.K.", that was used during the early 60's lotus type 49 type racing. To find out it was located in New York of all places makes me very sad to see a gem left to the wind.
"I heard", some of the irony of this becoming a golf course. After the track closure, which I'm pretty confident had to do with the golf course investors pushing thinks forward...is that the county wouldn't grant the the golf course permission to build because the track sits over an aquifer. They were concerned that all the chemicals used by the golf course to maintain their beautiful grass would leech in said aquifer. I think that delayed them for something like 12 years.... meanwhile the race course was dormant and growing weeds. I got to see a few motorcycle events there in it's final year. I started road racing my bike right after that. I had to travel to the closest tracks being Louden, NH or Pocono, PA. $.5 and 2.5 hrs. respectively. Fookers!
Nice presentation, would like to visit myself some day
He says he will whoop anyone on a video game since he knows every square inch of the track
very nice raceway ..rfactor1 and gtr2 also has its version, not very accurate unfortunately, but the ups and downs are there
You were walking the track backward at first
😥😢😰😨
Did my first laps there decades ago. Then moved on to other tracks in the Northeast. But once you did the Bridge, you felt confident everyplace else.
