I’m a guy who rebooked a hotel room on my 2 month vacation to Florida and spent $12,000 on a new booking because I saw a roach… I am going to my first wwofing experience in Hawaii for 4 months next week. Let’s see how this goes
I am a woofing host in Norway. I love having woofers, but I can tell you it is not easy. Al woofers have diferent expectations and skills. Most people like it here but some people dont. The only thing that is 100% certain is that the experience is not what they expected. I might be better, it might be worse but it is always diferent then expected.
Great video. I must apologize. Assumed you were another freeloading millennial. I have one in my own house. 🙄 Absolutely Love Love Love what your organization does. Your a fine humanitarian keep up your great attitude and big heart . Love a MuM ❤️👍🏾😊
It’s Micheal checking in from Southeast Asia, I’m in the city and finally got cell reception. So glad to see you are doing great, and I love the video☺️
I hope you understand what I am going to tell you now, and not take offence. I also hope you will quit telling everyone that wwoofing is a cheap way to travel. Wwoofing is a cultural and educational exchange. You don't exchange work hours for room and board. If you were, if you did, you have to pay federal and state income tax on the value of the food and shelter you received. The host would have to follow federal, state and local laws to report the work exchange and provide you with unemployment insurance, social security and medicare co-payments. Instead you go to a host farm, who welcomes you as a guest who shares their interest in the sustainable, organic life style. They provide you with food and shelter, because that's what hosts do, and you help with with their chores and projects because that's what guests do and that is how you learn. Its an important difference that both wwoof hosts and wwoof guests need to know. That's my two cents.
Rebecca Vinson Thank you for that. Im sorting through ways to move to Hawai’i and shelter myself once I’m there, living outside won’t last long with me, wwoof sounds like something I can do. The video was informative, but I still felt unanswered; you answered my question, thanks. (How it works/what to expect)
Excuse me, thank you so much for sharing. me - I’m currently “homeless” at my moms place in the country. And someone told me about “wooff” as a way to get to where I want to be.. and I might honesty
thanks a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT because i am considering doing wwoofing as a solo black woman and u helped me rethinking some of my ideas :D and u are super funny
I live stream on Twitch multiple nights per week so if you want to have more of a conversation that’s the way to do it! Otherwise you can drop me questions on my discord and perhaps I’ll make updated UA-cam content about it
Giiiiirl!! Come to Maui. I'm on the north shore so very vegan very local tons of work trade. I have a couple of vw vans I rent out, I'll show you Hana. There way way more money to be made here. Just throwing it out there.
A good laugh and good information! I'm doing my own research on wwoofing for the first time, and I too will be a solo traveler. Unless we just solve this by being a wwoofing duo👌 I'm so interesting in seeing Hawaii for the first time as a wwoofing experience. Thanks again for your content
I loved this, haha! Thinking about WWOOFing myself in Hawaii and stumbled across this. I will be going solo too... sigh #foreveralone P.S. How did you get your iPhone to zoom out automatically?
The problem with the generation is that we have so many demands, i want this, i want that. They don't understand that we are visiting, so we have to accomodate. Or else pay for your visit and book a hotel...
You are 18 ofc you will have time to do everything you want. If you are thinking of doing both at once, I wouldn't count on it unless your host is extremely flexible. School is hard, even community college. You should give it your full attention.
I didn't know what to expect when going to Hawai'i. One thing I can tell you is that you should expect to be going to a different country. A country that has a different culture/way of life. A country that has a different way of doing things. A country that has a different power structure. You'll meet a people who have a different mindset. It's not just the mainland with beaches.
I have 6-8” Cane Spiders chilling in my house all the time. They are harmless. Although poisonous, they do not cause harm to humans. The only thing you’ll feel is a little pain and swelling. Won’t kill you.
Linnéa Enberg in all honesty it was the first farm I intended to go to, unfortunately it didn’t work out originally but I will likely stay with them at some point
I see. It seems pretty expensive to be staying there though :O But, it's a dream of mine to go there some day... Even though it's almost impossible as a european ;(
Linnéa Enberg nothing is impossible!!! But it is really difficult to come out here, work trading is honestly the only practical way to do it without spending a looooot of 💰 💰
I want to workaway or wwoof so bad in Hawaii but IM SCARED OF THE BUGS AND SPIDERS!!!!! Someone ease my mind!!! 😩😩😂
I have a video about my overcoming arachnophobia! Please search for it and watch it, you sound just like I used to sound!!!!!
One night in Kona i woke up to a nine inch centipede biting my shoulder in the middle of the night. I hope that eased you
If it helps they're all edible 😂

Oh Rebecca, you are so overthinking this. Been going on for decades without a "tax" issue.
@@auntyuber5127 It's fact. Clear communication is key
Excuse me, thank you so much for sharing.
me - I’m currently “homeless” at my moms place in the country.
And someone told me about “wooff” as a way to get to where I want to be.. and I might honesty
ARe you good now?
Same here
This was adorable Holli!!! Perfect way to describe your experiences!
what's the acceptance rate on wolfing because I became a member and I just wanna make sure I'm not getting scammed and not getting my invites accepted
I’m not sure! There’s probably no way of tracking but if anyone was it’d be a question for WOOFF directly
You seem like you would be such a fun person to go on vacation with
i just learned of this today and was searching for away to have experience in life out side of my four walls.
thanks a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT because i am considering doing wwoofing as a solo black woman and u helped me rethinking some of my ideas :D and u are super funny
Awww thank you and good luck!
😂 You are hilarious! I will definitely keep that in mind.
The REAL story is apparently Hawaiian joggers have mastered teleportation! 6:32 Tell us what you know Holli.
"you cant google your way through life" well crap that was my plan
why does the video have so many mini edits?
Awesome! Very funny. Thank you
Simply the best! Thx for sharing ❤️
can u explain how to start worrking with woofing system.
her: you cannot google your way thru life
me: i- are you-, are you talking to me?
Hi, do you have any updates on your experience? You inspire me to drop everything and just go to Hawaii to live life!
I live stream on Twitch multiple nights per week so if you want to have more of a conversation that’s the way to do it! Otherwise you can drop me questions on my discord and perhaps I’ll make updated UA-cam content about it
Anyone know of anything on the Hamakua coast? I live here and I am seeking a work trade...
This is great! Thank you for this video :)
where can i look after those farms?
Great job on the video, Holli!
Haha, that sucks I'm a single for a reason, I'm a writer, artist, and thinker and that requires a lot of personal time lol.
Kudos to you for your courage. I am movi g there too at age 57.
LOL I absolutely loved this!

Heather Garrett I’ve got a one way ticket to Maui this September!
Is there time to travel after work?
Just depends on the schedule you agree upon :)
Can we have a part time/full time job apart from wwoofing?
I did! Totally depends on the person you’re coming to an agreement with. Communication is key!
Good video I might look into this
Hawai'i is a wild adventure. Sometimes it's the first time it's really you !
Glad my expectations were still at the reality hahah
Is there any available farms in Philippines?
A good laugh and good information! I'm doing my own research on wwoofing for the first time, and I too will be a solo traveler. Unless we just solve this by being a wwoofing duo👌 I'm so interesting in seeing Hawaii for the first time as a wwoofing experience. Thanks again for your content
Hahaha nice and funny video. Thanks :)
Hello
Is wwoof pay ticket
I loved this, haha! Thinking about WWOOFing myself in Hawaii and stumbled across this. I will be going solo too... sigh #foreveralone P.S. How did you get your iPhone to zoom out automatically?
Can I do this with my dog ?
Sometimes but rarely! Just ask the people in your initial letter to them
Just keep in mind that the locals dont mind you visiting, but do not plan on staying permanently.
The problem with the generation is that we have so many demands, i want this, i want that. They don't understand that we are visiting, so we have to accomodate. Or else pay for your visit and book a hotel...
Love this!
New to your channel Holli & loved your video on wwoofing expectations v reality. Reality informative but funny too. XX

Hello Holli! your video was pretty good.....definetly something i took in and processed and learned a few things!
Are you still out in Hawaii?.....
Hi I’m 18 and looking to do wwoofing in Hawai’i while also attending community college. In your opinion would I have enough time to do both?
You are 18 ofc you will have time to do everything you want. If you are thinking of doing both at once, I wouldn't count on it unless your host is extremely flexible. School is hard, even community college. You should give it your full attention.
thank you so much for this! best advice I've found
