Clear... Pure... Strong... Soft... Warm... Amazing tenor sound with one of the best phrasing lines ever... !!!! Maybe not the greatest technique in the history... But for sure the most BEAUTIFUL VOICE with the unbelievable G. DI STEFANO...! LOVE YOU MAESTRO!!! YOU RE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!
Carreras is absolutely magnificent. This Chenier would inspire countrymen to rise up, and this Carreras would inspire some of us to listen with bated breath and follow him anywhere.
This is a magnificent performance! Carreras will always be - to me - the most passionate tenor, with the most beautiful voice, and the handsomest of his peers of the latter 20th century. Wonderful acting, great passion, exquisite voice. People who only know him from the Three Tenors concerts, do NOT know the magnificence of Carreras!
So true - to see him live in opera was the best and most emotional performance you could ever wish to see -- his voice full of power and full of emotions too - he had a fantastic stage presence and of course so handsome -- Best tenor ever.
Qualcuno conosce in che data e in quale teatro Carreras ha cantato questo " Andrea Chenier" '.Canta magnificamente bene ! L'enfasi con la quale alcune parole son pronunciate e cantate è ineguagliabile.Insiste molto sulle doppie consonanti che fanno la lingua Italiana così diversa dalla Spagnola. Spende un sacco di energia ma ne è valsa la pena se dopo 40 anni ancora lo ascoltiamo!

His voice never went bad as you so put it - the man had cancer and was lucky to live- he has always had the most beautiful voice.and presentation- to some he may have pushed his voice a little - but it never went bad !!
