I’m kind of the opposite I was frustrated washing my hair once a month because it’s was so tangled, dry, and my scalp girl🤦🏾♀️. But washing once a week makes the whole process shorter for me and I lose less hair in one sitting and that’s what I was looking for personally.
Were you keeping it moisturized/hydrated throughout the month? Because I realized neglecting it until the next wash day was what caused the breakages/dryness/scalp discomfort.
@@Wilonda Girl no, that’s probably exactly what it was. I would wear twists a lot, but even then I didn’t really moisturize them and I left them in way too long.
Yeah, I Can Only Keep Mine In For Up To 4 Weeks. Even At 3 Weeks My Hair Starts To Frizz & Create Knots. But I Absolutely Have To Spray Them With A Refresher Spray Every 2-3 Days To Keep Them From Drying & Becoming Brittle.
Oh trust me...my hair shrinks up real bad as well. I realized that "product shrinkage" and "only water shrinkage" are different with my hair. Because the products I use to do my twists are more oily and thick creams, it will not shrink up as bad as if I were to spray my hair with water before styling. As I mentioned in the video, I purposely wait until ALL moisture evaporates from my hair before I twists them.
Hi friend! Unpopular hack…blow dry ur roots and hair on low when needed to stretch ur hair. Get a moisturizing heat protectant to use every so often and go to town. I workout often so i blow dry my roots nearly everyday, overtime i realized my curl pattern was not impacted by this. Now i do this to style my hair when i wear it down.
@@Wilonda not everyday literally..but if i workout hard in cold weather…I’m not going out with wet hair. If i had my hair in a bun and need to put down, a lightly blow dry thr roots to get my hair in the right direction. Not the hottest setting, takes 5 min at the absolute most….i don’t mind it.
I wash my 4c low porosity hair weekly (have been since my relaxed days and before I cut off last year) with no problems. Granted I don't use shampoo ever wash (some times I work my deep conditioner into a lather and use that) but still never an issue. People need to find what works for their specific hair and do that instead of constantly listening to other people tell them to wash less, wash more, not use shampoo, deep condition every week, etc...
That's why I like mousse so much! It makes styling super quick and easy so you can do your hair twice a week and not feel like you are doing too much. Since Im redoing my hair twice a week its already detangled so the shampoo and condition session is super easy and relaxing. Then I towel dry and apply my mousse in sections and that dries in 20 minutes! I sweat too much when I workout to go longer than a week without washing my hair unfortunately. I bet yall only have to buy product once a year lol!
Did you have to blow dry your hair first. I want to try mini twist to let my hair rest but now sure if I should start on wet or blow dry hair any advice would be greatly appreciated
I just got my natural hair twisted last week for the first time and I’m so nervous about how short it looks. Do you have any tips on products I can use? Right now I’m just using Blue Magic.
Braid ur hair at night and there for its stretched unless u want all that shrinkage there super cute braided the final result is amazing what works for me might not work for whoever else.
I can’t do this style cause I have fine more low density hair! So I look bald with mini twists or twists or braids (without added hair) 🤣🤣🤣 It looks amazing on you! I wish I could do this! 😩🥹
Same here!!! Cant do twists because certain parts of my hair are long...others catching up!! So o rock a curly fro, try to slick it down, and just use leave in daily..and cover her up at night with silk slap cap!!!

@@Wilonda I definitely need to try that. Thanks girl!
The fact that they don't shrink up. The next morning mines be 2 inches shorter and it's just up from there

Wow. Blow dry everyday? Props to you, sis! I can't imagine doing this on a daily.

Just seen your channel. I recently started using Blue magic and it makes my hair feel good!!!!
Yeees! It definitely seals the moisturizer in 😊 welcome to my channel!
These are twists. I wish that everyone will stop naming their twists MINI twists. They turned out cute
Me too
You are so pretty. Good tips

I use the olive oil hair moisturizer cream or the tgin buttercream.
I also use castor oil to seal but if I don't have any on hand I also use grease.
I love this 🇭🇹🇭🇹🇭🇹
How long did it take you overall to twist your hair?
I Take My Time & Watch UA-cam/Netflix While Twisting...So About 2-3hrs. Not Using A Comb. Only Finger Detangling.
How often do you wash your hair and re install the mini twists?
I wash once a month (every 4 weeks) & reinstall.
@@Wilondaima try that. Thanks 🙃

They are beautiful, and you did a phenomenal job. How long do you usually keep this style in? If you don't mind me asking.
I wash my hair once a month, so about 4 weeks at a time.
riiiiriiight i don't like putting a lot of stuff in my hair either.

What's your go to protective hairstyle then?
@@Wilonda honestly, washngos have worked amazingly though they aren’t considered a protective style by most! & then buns, & a the puff. 🤣 very simple.
