Residuals do not pay that great unless your part of the top 10, other then White the rest of the cast only gets $3800 a year while White gets 127,500.00 Almost 130k a year unless you're the star of a sitcom you really do not get that much. For a show like Friends they get 300k each for residuals since there is technically not a main character and all 5 of them had creative rights as well which fetch them another 150k (Since its been on Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max) one of the top 10 is Martin Lawrence - His role in Martin fetches him 700k a year in residuals yet Tisha Campbell only gets 100k a year and the rest of the cast less then 10k a year, Martin was the star, the writer and creative director on the show so he rakes in all that had he only been an actor he would have got 150k to 200k. I always thought it unfair IMO that all the main cast does not get the same amount.
Yes! I Do think there should be a reboot of Family Matters, like @abellewis3062 said we should have seen Steve and Laura getting married, now that years have passed by, we will have to settle with what their married life is like today, and to be curious if Steve Urkel is the same or if he turned into a Stephan look. I am sorry that certain cast members got cast off, it's terrible when you they make you disappear and then forgotten later. Maybe we can petition to have Family Matters rebooted.
I thought the person who played Judy got fired because in real life her mother demanded more money and more screen time and the producers didn't like that idea. Plus Peyton didn't like the direction they were going when White played Myrtle too much. That started getting out of hand. There's really not that much on this show except that and that the show had run it's course and ratings dropped which is why the show ended.
I can understand why the cast was annoyed with Steve Urkel becoming the main focus of the show, but still if it weren’t for him the show would’ve been dead in the water after it’s first season
I felt like it wasn’t for Steve starring in season 1 episode 12, the show wouldn’t have lasted long because they could’ve cancelled it due to low ratings so they added to spice up the show & made him main character. If it wasn’t for Steve they would’ve made it to 9 seasons but Jaleel White shouldn’t have got big headed just because he was the main character. I understand why Harriett left the show because she feel like the show was (jumping shark) focusing too much attention and camera time on Steve, making changes, & didn’t like how Judy left.
Reboot? No...just do a sequel, like they did with Full House. Steve and Laura are married with kids...unlce Eddie and Uncle Stefan play big roles...and maybe even Aunt Judy shows up. And you gotta have Grandpa Carl...maybe write it off that Harriet passed away if you cant get the actress back. But seeing Jaleel White back as Urkel and Stefan after 20+years would be great. Assuming Jaleel can still pull off and do the Urkel character again
I didn’t like the Urkel character because what he was doing to Laura and to the Winslow family in general could really be considered as harassment. There is an episode where Steve even goes on the roof of the Winslow’s house and refuses to get down until Laura agrees to go on a date with him!😳🙄 The show was supposed to be family friendly and funny but the message it was giving with that harassment and Urkel getting what he wanted in the end was not a good thing in my opinion.
If that was Stefan that did to Laura what Steve did, you wouldn't say nothing. But since it's Steve and since he's not the Bratt Pitt of the show it's harassment? People like you are why many men today stay single and then women then cry about not finding a man
@@eph_loves_80s74 Even if that was Stefan doing what Steve did to Laura it would still be harassment if Laura wasn’t interested. It has nothing to do with Steve not being attractive. You just can’t force a person to love you. It doesn’t work that way. If a person says no, it’s no and you have to respect it.
@@M.C-t7r So why Laura gets jealous everytime Steve is with another girl or stops paying attention to her? Grow up, just say you don't like Steve Urkel being the centre of the show and move on

Family Matters is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. If it wasn’t for Steve Urkel Family Matters would have been a forgotten short lived sitcom. Here are some fun facts: Jaleel White said that him & his dad watched Family Matters before he came on the show & they didn’t find it funny. Jaleel said he was done with Hollywood before his agent brought Family Matters to him.
The producers went back and added in the scene with Judy running back upstairs. 7:37 You can see she's ~ 11 in that scene, but Judy was on the show longer than that. She's ~ 12 - 14 here though 7:32. None of you actually ever watched the show that much, apparently! 😂 But I always thought Judy was the best looking female on the show. Her hair was just lit! 🔥 I think Rudy Huxtable was the only better looking young/teenaged female at the time.

im pretty sure Judy got pruned by the TVA for causing an incursion.
The biggest recent shocker is that p.diddy actually had relations with Carol.
Now Carl is a Diddy toy.😂😂😂
Yes for a reboot of Family Matters please bring it back
If they do do a reboot of Family Matters, Rosetta Lenoir and Michelle Thomas won't be a part of it, because of their deaths.
Am i the only one who never noticed that they changed the mom 😅😂😂😂
Nope you're not...I must've stopped watching by that time🤔🤷🏾♀️
I'm still flabbergasted that he decided to marry SUPER HEAD!!!!!!!:(
I really liked this show as a kid. I do miss it. That Laura though 😏👍
I can understand why the cast was annoyed with Steve Urkel becoming the main focus of the show, but still if it weren’t for him the show would’ve been dead in the water after it’s first season
Not to mention Carl getting diddy diddled
I felt like it wasn’t for Steve starring in season 1 episode 12, the show wouldn’t have lasted long because they could’ve cancelled it due to low ratings so they added to spice up the show & made him main character. If it wasn’t for Steve they would’ve made it to 9 seasons but Jaleel White shouldn’t have got big headed just because he was the main character. I understand why Harriett left the show because she feel like the show was (jumping shark) focusing too much attention and camera time on Steve, making changes, & didn’t like how Judy left.
I don't think I can take watching a grown Urkle 😂! Rest well, Michelle Thomas 💐💕
You're beautiful 🎉
His actual daughter should play their kid since she looks just like him
Hollywood sucks and it still sucks
Michelle Thomas was so damn fine😢.. continue to rest🕊
oh well bye felicia
I didn’t like the Urkel character because what he was doing to Laura and to the Winslow family in general could really be considered as harassment. There is an episode where Steve even goes on the roof of the Winslow’s house and refuses to get down until Laura agrees to go on a date with him!😳🙄
The show was supposed to be family friendly and funny but the message it was giving with that harassment and Urkel getting what he wanted in the end was not a good thing in my opinion.
Agree. I fell out of love with the show Urkels role expanded
That became the whole focal of the show.
Grow up, just say you don't like Steve Urkel being the centre of the show and move on
Yes their should Be A reboot of Family Matters but with Judy coming back as the little Sister Who moved down to Florida with Winslow Family Members 😁👍😇🙏
I meant to live with Carl's Family Members down in Florida but now She Comes back .
Family Matters is one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. If it wasn’t for Steve Urkel Family Matters would have been a forgotten short lived sitcom. Here are some fun facts:
Jaleel White said that him & his dad watched Family Matters before he came on the show & they didn’t find it funny. Jaleel said he was done with Hollywood before his agent brought Family Matters to him.
Judy walked in the house from mama Winslow's marriage that was her last episode
One of my faves growing up! I’ll never forget it! Miss this show!
Yes, I think they should bring the family matters back and continue where they left off
people need to be able to allow others to be able to be able to do things differently without having to take control over selfthought
I think the show would've done fine without Urkle. There weren't many if any wholesome family shows featuring black actors
Weren’t they going to end it after the first season because the ratings were so low? Not trying to be sarcastic i could be mistaken but I could’ve sworn they said he saved the show
@@DydyShaw-ui2xj Yes they were.
So urkel saved the show
@@eph_loves_80s74 i knew I wasn’t tripping. More gratitude should be shown he was just a kid. Idk how it is in their world but he shouldn’t have been shunned for a decision the writer made.
It wasnt his fault, we loved Steve
One of my fav shows growing up. Kinda sad to see these shows always end up this way but let’s be real, how many family members u gotta throw hands with before we grow into ourselves
I would love to see family matters. Come back on the air, it was a funny.
T TV show the people would love.
I am 58 years old. And I loved it and I wish it would come back on😂❤❤
Exactly I Loved it back then when I was a teenager and Luv it Today & watch it everyday on TBS
I stopped watching Family Matters after a while.... I never knew they got a new mom and Steve eventually got Laura
Yes I watch family matters, I watched it this morning. My favorite was Michelle Thomas, she was very attractive I'm sorry she passed away. I always wanted to see was urkel going to marry Laura but the show was canceled. I would definitely like to see that happen.
I would have loved to have seen Myra hook up with Stefan.
Stephon was so phony
I like to watch ⌚ American Crime about Silvia Likens in 1965. That was a true story. Took place in Indiana. I still remember the TGIF line up on many stations. I like the flat screen TV.
@@josephclegg3562That was supposed to happen in Season 10
wow, this video was really eye-opening and well put together! i appreciate the effort you put into uncovering these family matters. but honestly, i can’t help but feel like some of these "dark secrets" are just overblown drama. families have their issues, sure, but do we really need to sensationalize them like this? just my two cents!
I've ALWAYS had a MASSIVE CRUSH on Jaleel White and I STILL DO❤❤
I miss her 😢Myra
Why am I hearing that the actor that played Carl Winslow was with Diddy😮
R.I.P. Michelle 😢
The new mother also played the Nun when steve went looking for myra haha
😂 the same thing happened on fresh prince, just woke up to a new mom, lightskinned and everything 😅
After the 5th season family matter started to go down and also after the original Harriet left it didn’t feel right,But I thought Judy was let go because her parents didn’t like how they were paying her so they decided to let her go
Yes they should be a reboot
I dont know why they removed Judy from the show. I loved that show and why didnt they show Steve and Lauras wedding. I would love to see a reboot of them today laura and steve and Eddie and waldo as parents. And include Judy and 3Jay
no reboot. You can not recreate the magic, and now storytelling in the original wouldn't be allowed
I would love to see them again I miss them all
Audience, Myra aka Michelle Thomas was my best character on the show. She was a very attractive actress with a bright glow about herself. Poor Judy got canned from the show and started taking off her clothes for fame and fortune. Wow, what a 360 turn around!
Used to love this show. They turned steves character into a superhero basically by season 6 😂
One of my favorite TV shows ever n i still watches it sometimes..that’s a classic original☺️🤩
Yes there should be a reboot of family matters
If there ever is a reboot, maybe we could finally find out where did Judy all those years ago.
@@josephclegg3562😂😂😂
Wow I Never Knew That It Was So Much Tension Going On, On Such A Funny Show!!!!
Jaleel wasn't cast in anything big after this show. Could it be because of hus attitude? Nobody likes working with DIVAS!
It was his attitude. He could act, but was a huge jerk. He gets paid a lot in residuals though.
You don't know what you're talking about! The dude was behind the scenes, producing, so on and so forth! Also, he does voice overs! He never stopped😂 working. You need to do some research before running off at the moith, like Fox News 😂😂
Michelle Thomas was one of my childhood crushes for sure. She was so beautiful.
Y’all talking bout Judy going upstairs and never to return but look how long Carl has been locked in the closet and never came out.
😂
Cold blooded
I want a spin-off reboot with Steve and Laura's family
Steve thought it was his show lol
