You can try power off and back on. Use the SmartLife app - go in and click the + sign to add a device. It automatically detected it for me. Then you enter your Wi-Fi info and the app shares that info to the device so that it can connect. It's been a while so I can't remember the AP 01 part. But that is the general process I used to connect it.
If AP 01 does not appear automatically, press and Hold the + button for at least 3 seconds and the AP will be displayed. I had the same problem, but after I pressed and held the + button for 3 seconds, AP came up and I was able to connect the app.
@@michtwn The other problem is that the display has to be within 20 feet from the probe, otherwise it displays - - as the pool water temperature. I might as well just look at the probe!
Assuming you've connected through the app, there's a certain amount of historical data available there, but no way to really download it. The batteries last about 3-4 months before needing to be replaced.
I never really tried it myself, but theoretically, it should at least for info. The Smart Life app that I connected it to does connect with Alexa. So you could probably at the very least ask Alexa the temperature of "The Pool" or whatever you named this in the Smart Life app and Alexa could most likely give you that info. However, even if it does that, I don't think that info can be used as a trigger for anything inside Alexa.
The display unit won't connect to Wi-Fi. The manual says it will display "AP 01" but it never does!

How long does the battery last on the pool thermometer? Is it possible to download the stored data?

Hello I love your video
Does this work with Alexa?

App can’t find the device and there is no pool thermometer to select from. Useless
You can try restarting the "Hub" - the thermometer itself only connects to the hub. Then the hub connects to the internet and the app that way.
