- The updated IS 500 F Sport Performance is here to drive and Lexus has brought the V8 power. Under the hood is a 5.0L V8 that is churning out 472HP & is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the outside you will notice a power bulge hood, 19in Enkei wheels, and stacked exhaust. On the inside you will discover high level materials, and updated infotainment screen, and digital gauge cluster. Is the 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport Performance a sport sedan WORTH the PRICE?

I’d pick Lexus all day instead of those other brands because it has a naturally aspirated v8 and the reliability that comes with these cars is insane!

Reliability is overrated from what I have seen. Shit I made a Dodge Charger RT reliable and go look at the reliability ratings of that thing.
Joe you’re having way too much fun and I’m super jealous. Always been a big fan of Lexus because of their comfort and reliability and I think they did an amazing job with this IS. Great review!
Guys let me tell you something. This car is one of the most fast selling cars in the market right now. I had to wait two months just to receive my Lexus IS 350 DHP. Imagine trying to get your hands on the IS 500 LOL Goodluck. I don’t feel like the interior is outdated at all. The fit and finish is nice and the cabin is comfortable and sporty.
UA-cam and real life are 2 different things

@@AnatolyKhalizev I’m in Toronto, Canada and I had to buy the car with the specific trim that I wanted in another state/province and have it brought to a local dealer in my area. That’s how hard it is too find this car in any dealership right now. They’re are selling extremely fast
This is a fair price for this car, $61,000 I would like one too
Especially with all the stuff that comes with it as standard compared to the competition that you have to add on. This price is hard to beat.
Actual base price is going to 56.5k which is pretty good.
This car has something the other brands don't. A naturally aspirated V8 that sounds absolutely insane.
A supercharged V8 Blackwing Caddy begs to seriously differ and makes Lexus' V8 kinda sound more like a V6.
@@fp5495 it doesn’t make the IS500 sound like a V6. however that CT5-V Blackwing is my favorite Caddy alongside the first gen CTS-V

My last GS300 had over 200k miles all original, not a single issue! Now I have a supercharged GS-f and I LOVE it!!!
Some reviewer said that it reminds them of an E90 M3 : RWD NA V8 ,smooth riding but a blast to drive on the street. Seems like a future classic to me.

This is a much, much smaller car than a TLX-S. Owned an IS350 for a few years. It was OK. It was too slow. This sounds like a lot of fun.
Reliable,good looking and also indestructible.THis car will outlast anything on earth.Boy does that 5.0 sounds good.

I’ve been going back and forth on this and an M3. Short term M3 hands down, but long term IS500. The reliability factor and lower price point is what is drawing me to the 500.
If your leasing the M3 would be better, but if your buying and planning to keep it the lexus would be better. Both cars will have good resale value, you can always sell it.
I’m in the same boat! Really really thought about a new m3 or m340i, I’m just scared long term. I just can’t put my money down on a car id be worried about long term, it just doesn’t make sense to me and scares me.

I was customizing a all black one on their website and ngl I might consider one of these in all black. Right now my top 3 for cars are Corvette, and the mustang/is500. Still got a lot of time left to decide, happy I finally decided on 3 cars tho. Shooting for next summer or spring

Another dagger in the heart of the Acura TLX Type S at the Base trim ($56k). I wish the car had launch control but I have to assume that 0-60 is better than claimed. This car from a roll is probably much faster.
Base type s price is 52K u can only get it to 56k if it has every option and accessory available or a dealer mark up. And the car does have launch control it just isn’t bragging about it… yes I agree the car falls short in performance from factory but Honda mobile mechanic did a simple inlet tube upgrade and a Dow pipe and it can now do 13.0 to 12.8/9. Oh and the 0-60 of the is500 is definitely better than claimed. More like 4.3-4.0

@@doughboy5858 this car is only slower due to a smaller rear tire. I bet it will be on par with the rcf once you put a wider tire on.
@@Nate-Aims yeah definitely, I think it can definitely get under 4 seconds with the right tuning as well. Idk if I would add anything aftermarket because it’s pretty great as it is. Not to mention with the rear slip differential it’s a beast at drifting

I don't even use the cd player in my 08 is250 6MT but I just like having it there. I actually got some nice and QUALITY music cds I found with my brother to listen to. So I am for the cd player. I wish the screen had less bezels tho.

A new IS 500 is basically impossible to find now. I've done a nationwide search and you can't find this sitting in a dealership ready to buy.

30k cheaper, reliable, just a bit under 500 horsepower . You really can’t beat it . I mean other than the interior that everyone complains about lol but I’m gonna be having too much fun driving to care about the interior 🤣🤣
You really can't put a price on reliability. I'd rather have a slightly slower car that I can beat on for the next 1,000 years.

The CT4-V 2.7T has 380 lb-ft of torque or almost the same as the IS500 for $49K. Then there is Blackwing!

For this genre of car, being a Miata kinda guy, the V8 is overkill for me. But I'm not a "Geschwindigkeit über alles" (Speed above all) driver. If I can't park it at COSTCO, it ain't worth a nickle to me, so for a daily driver, it's overkill. But it is a striking and stunning car, even though the design has been around a while now, it still evokes a sense of respect for the Lexus brand that symbolizes luxury and the highest quality standards in the Automotive World. This design will become more of a classic than a dated styling exercise in years to come.
$56.5k starting price + taxes is already over $60k. I would love this car but too much for my cheap ass lol.

Nice car & lines red leather is spot on that will be my next interior color in a sport sedan ! As far as the dash yes not bad kind of retroish vents from a space movie. I'm 6'5 with most of my height in my legs. I don't fit comfortably in a is350 f sport with the limited/manual steering wheel adjustment. I fit fine in a RCF with the powered steering wheel adjustment. Which does the is500 have? I don't believe I've seen in either review and it's important for my potential purchase decision.

I don't know why Lexus even stopped making the IS F! Styling wise, the IS F was definitely the V8 sedan that everyone wanted and still do but I ain't mad at Lexus for trying with this IS 500 but man, please, oh please Lexus, bring back the IS F!!!!!

Hey Joe, the front air intakes are the narrow slots to the outside of the “fake” mesh openings. Plainly seen on camera. Same as on my RX350. Why did Lexus do it this way? I don’t know.
