The reason for showing the festival was to show Gideon would have been born on the Chinese year of the pig, it was symbolism that Gideon's death was the birth of jigsaw since he used that pig mask. Though it also gets weird when you realize the only Chinese years of the pig it could have been was 2007, the year this film came out, meaning this was FROM THE FUTURE (Future future *Echo into nothing *)

Her lower left to possibly lower midbrain would've been damaged, but as long as the arrow wasn't removed until she reached the hospital, she could've been saved.
Having removed the brain from a cadaver before, I'm simultaneously impressed that they got the size of the brain right, and annoyed at how poorly they represented the meninges.

She was in the trap regardless but she had to kill the man (a cop who would have put her away for prostitution otherwise) as he was trying to save her. THAT was her test. I wish you had included the sin where at the end Hoffman turns off all the computers by lazily waving his hand behind them to disconnect the cables, that part always stuck with me.
It's so frustrating though. Instead of the traps being unfair, the people are just being stupid. Especially during the game where you had to fill a beaker with blood. Like they could have used ANY OTHER BODILY FLUID, or just not decided to lose half their blood and die together anyway. But the whole movie was then saved by the crushing walls trap.

When my friend and I walked out of this movie a girl said "How did they get the tape inside his stomach if his body has been trapped in that room till the end of the movie?" We never watched the movie again.

Many of the issues with this movie come from the change in writing staff and Donnie Wahlberg's desperation to be free of the franchise. Originally, Eric Matthews was to be killed by Amanda in Saw III with a knife in the neck. The DVD commentary mentions this and says it was even filmed but removed to Bousman's protest and annoyance - that was one of the reasons why he didn't come back. That said...sin the hell out of it!

Many of the issues with this movie come from the change in writing staff and Donnie Wahlberg's desperation to be free of the franchise. Originally, Eric Matthews was to be killed by Amanda in Saw III with a knife in the neck. The DVD commentary mentions this and says it was even filmed but removed to Bousman's protest and annoyance - that was one of the reasons why he didn't come back. That said...sin the hell out of it!
