Later on, he got a little too slow tempoed for me. And I'm not even going to talk about that crap Old Town Road. All in all, I feel he got a bum rap because of Achy Breaky Heart.

Storm in the heartland, in the heart of woman are two amazing songs that billy ray didn’t get enough recognition in my opinion. With that being said, billy ray doesn’t hold a candle to Travis tritt. I’ve seen over 300 live concerts, and Travis’s acoustic show is top 5 of any concert I’ve ever seen.

I have always been a Travis Tritt fan. I was highly annoyed with Billy Ray’s song Achy Break heart. Yet he had other great songs. Sadly todays country , overall, is NOT country. (My opinion). I haven't been to a Billy Ray Cyrus concert yet but I heard that does put on a good show too. My favorite songs from Travis tritt are 1. Put some drive in the country. 2. Love of a woman. 3. Can trust you with my heart. My favorite songs from Billy Ray are 1. Achy breaky heart 2. Trail of tears. 3. She's not crying anymore. Both guys are awesome and very talented in country music.
Back in the day I wanted to learning some new songs for the bands i was fronting. When It came time for band practice! I soon got a reality check. This Travis dude is a monster singer. The Boys in the band looked at me and said give the song to Jerry our bass player. So from that point! Jerry Covered all the Tritt Songs. I was the front man / singer and Travis done right is a hard task. He has more soul in one finger than I have in my hole body. I was always able to cover Billy Ray for the most part. Merle Haggard & Travis Tritt! Both have vocal inflections that are killer. Im glad my band stoped me from making an ass of my self. It kinda bummed me out! But sometimes you need a wake up call.. lol

I never heard of this supposed feud but as far as I'm concerned, if quoted "verbatim", there was nothing inflammatory about Travis Tritt's comments. And as is typical with the media, if there ever was a feud it was instigated by the media. But that said, Billy Ray Cyrus may have been meant to achieve celebrity, starting out singing and then transitioning to acting, but between the two, Travis Tritt was the better singer/entertainer. There's no accounting for people's taste as to why "Achy Breaky Heart" was pigeon holed as "country". But to me, though it was catchy, it was no more than rural pop or urban country music. And in my opinion, it was one of the "gateway" songs that ushered in the twangy pop music and country rap of today.

I have always been a Travis Tritt fan. I was highly annoyed with Billy Ray’s song Achy Break heart. Yet he had other great songs.
Sadly todays country , overall, is NOT country. (My opinion). I miss good country music like it used to be. I don’t listen to the new supposedly country stations anymore. The new stuff all sounds the same , with a few exceptions.

I'm a big fan of both guys and there music's and they have good songs. I've been to three concerts of Travis tritt he is a good guy and puts on a awesome show. I haven't been to a Billy Ray Cyrus concert yet but I heard that does put on a good show too. My favorite songs from Travis tritt are 1. Put some drive in the country. 2. Love of a woman. 3. Can trust you with my heart. My favorite songs from Billy Ray are 1. Achy breaky heart 2. Trail of tears. 3. She's not crying anymore. Both guys are awesome and very talented in country music.
My favorite Billy Ray song is as a veteran "SOME GAVE ALL." That song to me is for all veterans everywhere.

Back in the day I wanted to learning some new songs for the bands i was fronting. When It came time for band practice! I soon got a reality check. This Travis dude is a monster singer. The Boys in the band looked at me and said give the song to Jerry our bass player. So from that point! Jerry Covered all the Tritt Songs. I was the front man / singer and Travis done right is a hard task. He has more soul in one finger than I have in my hole body. I was always able to cover Billy Ray for the most part. Merle Haggard & Travis Tritt! Both have vocal inflections that are killer. Im glad my band stoped me from making an ass of my self. It kinda bummed me out! But sometimes you need a wake up call.. lol

Travis has that Southern Rock soulful bullfrog thing go'n on & that's hard for a vocalist to equate. Waylon & Conway's growl, Willie's sinus note's, Cash's little quiver, Jones' & Hag's baritone, all so hard to duplicate, good thing we're not female, we'd be trying to match Tammy Wynette's tear in her voice & I don't think that can be done 😉

Im a fan of Traxis Tritt, but sounds like he was a bit jellious of Billy Ray. Billy Ray also had some great songs. Think Travis thought Billy ray would steal the spot light. Which he did with the ladies.

To compare the two is ridiculous on its face. BRC literally had 15 mins of fame. Then he was gone. TT was then, and STILL is listened to by the fans of country music. TT is a major leaguer and BRC is was semi pro.
I never heard of this supposed feud but as far as I'm concerned, if quoted "verbatim", there was nothing inflammatory about Travis Tritt's comments. And as is typical with the media, if there ever was a feud it was instigated by the media.
But that said, Billy Ray Cyrus may have been meant to achieve celebrity, starting out singing and then transitioning to acting, but between the two, Travis Tritt was the better singer/entertainer. There's no accounting for people's taste as to why "Achy Breaky Heart" was pigeon holed as "country". But to me, though it was catchy, it was no more than rural pop or urban country music. And in my opinion, it was one of the "gateway" songs that ushered in the twangy pop music and country rap of today.

It goes to show how opening your mouth in public can cause all sorts of problems. Travis is a talent no doubt but Billy Ray has had movies, TV Shows, part of Disney productions, crossed into next generation music etc. I am not a fan of his exhibitionist style and Travis has remained true to his country music but Billy Ray's career sure seems to have sky rocketed even decades later.
A true die hard artist of being a singer should stay solid with music and stay away from being an actor for some movie.
I'll say I was never really a tritt fan but he didn't have to use his kids to get " famous " again like Cyrus did .

I didn't personally care much for Billy Ray as an artist; more of a smart marketer, than a great singer-songwriter to me, but what I feel personally has little to do with what his legacy should be. He has the country album in history with the longest consecutive run at #1 on the Billboard 200 (Some Gave All) at 17 weeks. The album is also the second highest in total #1 weeks; also 17; second only to Garth's Ropin' The Wind, which got 18 weeks. Some Gave All is also the third highest country album in history with consecutive weeks as a top 10 on the Billboard 200 with 43 weeks. Garth has the most consecutive weeks ever with 50; Morgan Wallen is both 2nd and 3rd with Dangerous at 49 weeks straight on last year's run and so far 44 weeks straight on this year's run. Morgan Wallen is way ahead on total top 10 weeks for a country album and is actually ahead of all albums in history except four soundtracks and original casts from the 50s and 60s. Billy Ray cant hold a candle to Travis Tritt. I was in Nashville in 1992 during fan fair week in the middle of their war and was honored to see the likes of Travis Tritt, Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks, These artists made 90s country music while Billy Ray slipped off to oblivion.
