I'm from Minneapolis and ride all those bike lanes regularly on my bike/electric unicycle. When I get contracts downtown, I commute. However, I stop when the roads start freezing, as it is pretty darned dangerous. However, I might consider it after seeing these studded tires. Never knew those were a thing! I studded my winter boots with screws, because there's practically nothing else that works to combat our glare ice.
I don't understand how you don't have more subscribers. The level of quality in each video is much greater than that of most UA-camrs. Please don't ever stop making these wonderful videos, I hope you make it big one day.
Thanks for the kind words! I'm trying my hardest to build it up, slowly but surely! Tell all your friends about my channel, that's a start :) Have a great day
Ryan has already "made it big" he is happy and affording life in one of the most epic infrastructures on earth. Hey Ryan, Can you mail me my heart? I lost it on the peak of Sanitas! If you say no, I have a reason to come back! (>_
I ride year round. I bought a fat tire bike and put studded tires on it and it is safe to ride on ice and fresh snow if it is not too deep. You need studs because in an urban environment as soon as there is snow there is ice. I use tubeless ties which allow low tire pressure for better grip and float. I only ride the fat bike during the winter as I have other bikes to ride and I drive less than 4000 miles a year as I commute to work.
Get one! I'm really happy with my Continuum. My wife and I both use it every day (seatpost adjusts easily...one of the main reasons we got it), and over two years we've had zero maintenance issues. Not related to the company -- just a satisfied customer.
Heyyy you are in my home biking by my mom's house near Loring Park. Minneapolis rocks and so do your videos!! I watched your entire Burning Man bike journey. Keep up the great work. You seem like a pretty rad dude and I have enjoyed following along on along your adventures!
Wish I could meet you. I've lived most of my life in California and we know nothing about layering, or riding in the snow, but I am trying to learn. The layering part. Here we throw on a jacket over a t-shirt, that's are layering system.
Feet are the hardest to keep warm for me when it gets below 20F. I just did a 13 mile full moon night ride and watched the partial eclipse, which wasn't all that exciting. 32F and plenty warm.
Agreed -- definitely mittens, not gloves. I use Outdoor Research shell mittens with thick fleece liner mittens. This is another reason why the NuVinci hub is great -- it's super easy to shift with mittens on.
Ryan. I finally watched your video from the Winter Biking Conference in Mpls back in 2018 or was it 2017? Anyways, it looks like you had a great time. You were certainly were on the right kind of Priority bike with internal gears, carbon fiber belt and studded tires. You should come back in the summer sometime and check out the awesome bike trails without the snow. You'll even have a place to stay for free!
Gr8 video for sure & that bike concept is fantastic. I am kinda curious on why none of the other journalist gave their two cents. Ryan, keep creating videos & keep on keeping on brother. Cheers
Steve Addy thanks buddy! The music is from a music library made for scoring documentaries. I forget the name, but it's up there in the description. Cheers!

Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet are my old stomping grounds. That is where I grew up.
Id love to have one of these, my bikes never last long before something breaks (tube, brakes, pedal, rim, tire blowout, etc)

Aww yea. The shifter on those things is bananas
FOSSO it's so smoooove, and made in the USA!

Well I'd rather live in a place that's always warm...wanna trade? haha
Ryan Van Duzer not always warm, but never so cold. No snow here, Sacramento
So awesome! I love how you seek out adventure 💕
LittleMissCrista thanks, adventure doesn't have to be epic, can be simple and fun too!
You should do a video of tips for winter biking in Boulder.
aemcdraw I'm gonna! Next time it snows:)
Ryan - LUV your energy and down-to-earth outlook. Great bike reviews, too! You are an asset to UA-camr videos. Thanx
Fantastic video man! The music and drone footage on point! Thank you for posting this!
Julio Navas thanks, getting better every time!
Woah. Meridian is doing their own winter bikes? This is kind of a game changer for hotels downtown and I hope others follow suite.
yeah, way cool!

I agree, my toes hate the cold, brrrrrr
If you have the wrong hand protection.....fingers in pain make it hell....Minneapolis will make you pay.

Hey Ryan - thanks for the ride. Cheers - James.
jd dr.jkindle you got it! Happy trails!
Watching this video made me want to buy a Priority bicycle.
Very nice bike..i want to buy that one..soon
It's a sweet bike, and the newer version is black and has dynamo lights on the front and rear

The other journalists mouths were frozen shut :)
Is this bike good for hilly areas?
yeah, there's a big gear range
You betcha
Ya'll ever ride the Stuporbowl? :D
Dave is really cool guy, i have watched all his videos. I am close to buying a P bike.
Safety use IceClaws when walking on frozen lake
how does this bike do on steep hills?
the gearing would be limited for steep hills
@@duzer thats what i thought... i do 30 mile commutes all year but i have crazy hills the last 8 miles.....
Where can I buy this bike in the twin cities?
John Foster you can only buy online at prioritybicycles.com
Hey Ryan. Love the video. As ever.
Your music choice here is particularly cool. What is it please dude ? 🇬🇧🇺🇸👍🏻
Steve Addy thanks buddy! The music is from a music library made for scoring documentaries. I forget the name, but it's up there in the description. Cheers!
Hi buddy Ryan this is Levi Michael Gow the one you saw At Pacific pizza with Sean Durkin making pizza
nice video!
amontes28 thanks!
awesome video ryan....from 1-10 how good are those studded tires? :-)
They are pretty awesome, and add traction on slippery, ice paths for sure.
Smiling? I think your face is just frozen. Hahaha
true
I live in Minneapolis
More cities need to change and become more bike friendly
i agree!
Yesss! Riding on a lake is tons of fun.
I posted a video doing the same thing on my road bike.
ua-cam.com/video/EZr5822ebns/v-deo.html
OHHHHHH! The lake has to be FROZEN...now I understand. I was wondering why it didn't work too well for me. Thanks for the video!
Wow, thanks for the commercial.
Anytime ;)
ooo man thats a good race, poor people who brought road bikes on that detour
Yeah, that's the one spot where a road bike would be a little tough
the studded tires i bought slowed me so much i had to sell them.
Are you racing?
Pat Sen no he’s just stupid
You probably could have just removed the studs...
dam is it worth the 1000 dollars
absolutely!
Completely. Priority bikes are actually really cheap, considering what you get. No other manufacturer even comes close.
too much face time other than that good vid
