Yes I remember the Beaumont Street Flyer. It was very exciting when on the bus from Mirfield to Huddersfield when we were stopped by the man and his flag as the train crossed Leeds Road I think the saddest thing is that the magnificent and expensive Bradley viaduct was only used for 27 years.
I remember the gas works line well as a child. Traffic was stopped by a man with a red flag to allow trains to cross the relatively busy main road. Thanks for this!
The Beaumont Street Flyer passed by the "Monday Market" . I often went there as a a child with my mother and we would see it occasionally.
Absolutely brilliant.
When we were still self sufficient, and work was plentiful.
I like how much labour was employed in the past too. But, sadly coal gas was very toxic.
Thanks for this video. I walk that area when I go to watch Town and have seen the remains of the railway tracks but didn't realise their significance

I remember it, this was very informative thank you. 😎
Really interesting. I would have looked at the tracks in the street and thought tram. Thanks for making me aware of this. ❤
If you’re ever near Gasworks Street, have a look around the gasometer and the entrance area, the cobbles and tracks are still there. 👍🏻
Awesome , thank you .
