I think they are of a similar species. Probably not a result of the Revival ability but revived as a undead as a corpse of a human left to absorb the dark energy. Which could explain why its so different from our MC

Content warning, there is an R menton, lots of creatures being killed, blood. 28:24 while most of the english is good, there are various questionable choices. Like decapitate for an arm and eloping for running for your life. The rest of the story seems fine.
