Black models face a lot of scrutiny and discrimination in the fashion industry. Nonetheless, the surge of black models, especially those of West African descent continues to rise. Many of these models are extremely vocal and speak out openly about the (lack of) representation of black models in the industry. This triggered Ashley Chew’s #BlackModelsMatter movement which, in turn, has inspired this video as I list the top 10 black male models who are working in 2020.

How to Start Modeling

One of the best ways to become a model is to start by attending agency open calls or doing an online submission as some of the models listed in this video did to begin their careers. Most of the Top Female Models in the world today are represented by IMG Models, DNA Models, Next Models, Society Model Management, and Elite Model Management.

No dark skin African American descent girls or boys and only one overall. This is racist colorist xenophobic and needs to be discussed as a problem in the fashion industry. Shout out to all black models but lets make the fashion industry stop discriminating against female and male models of African American descent.

@@Lee-es1ht Absolutely not. Sudanese people are from SUDAN. These people fought for their independence and shed their blood to be recognised as a country, as South Sudanese.
Do you know that there are people of South Sudanese heritage that are still officially being recognised as being apart of Sudan? This is legit my heritage and they are still fighting. I did not respond to argue. How can you speak so self-assured and yet be so misinformed? Sudanese refers to any one from either Sudans. South Sudanese refers specifically to people from South Sudan. For informed people like you sound continuing to refer to South Sudans as Sudanese while knowing that The South Sudan people are fighting it is wrong. It just feeds into that. We have to do better.
