Great effort. Would appreciate it if you could provide an overview of different SAP products. For example, IBP, S&OP, control tower, etc sometimes overlap and confuse beginners. May be a video that explains which ones are SAP products and which ones are just the names of the processes within different products.
Hi Saad, SAP IBP offers indeed different modules covering different business processes. SAP offers: IBP for Demand, IBP Control Tower, IBP S&OP, IBP Response and Supply, IBP for Inventory, and IBP for DDMRP. We explain the different modules and their specific functionalities separately in our separate video's you can find in our playlist: ua-cam.com/video/suXfkNDUhjw/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Hi, Many thanks for the great video, I want to know if we are a transportation company having a fleet of vessels to deliver cargos as per hiring contract, can we use SAP IBP to plan fleet availability? Many thanks in advance.
Thank you for reaching out to us. Within the broad topic of “vessel planning” there are multiple levels of planning (strategic, tactical and operational). SAP IBP can certainly play a role to achieve a best in class digital planning solution that is seamlessly integrated with the core executional ERP and Transportation Management systems of a company. In an optimized and integrated SAP landscape SAP IBP would support the S&OP process where demand and vessel capacity are planned and matched on the strategic, tactical and even on the short-term horizon. IBP is tightly integrated with the embedded SAP TM solution within S/4HANA. This enables seamlessly integration of the (feasible) operational plan to assignments for the individual vessels to the real freight orders. SAP is continuously innovating IBP and enabling new scenario’s and visibility. This topic was even part of SAP’s briefing of the latest functions and features for the new 2105 release We would be happy to plan a call to discuss your requirements and give you our vision on possible solutions within IBP and the broader SAP portfolio, feel free to contact us; Regards Jeroen van Tol jeroen.van.tol@mccoy-partners.com
Hello Manju, Thank you for your reply and for watching this video. The sheets are part of our customer specific content which we deliver in our projects to our clients. They are based on the SAP best practice which can be extracted from SAP in each project. We would recommend to use the SAP template as a baseline and convert this to your specific needs and requirements. You can always reach out in case of specific questions. Thank you!
Hello, I am graduated with my Masters in Supply Chain Management. I would like to start my career as Demand planner/ Supply chain Planning. Will SAP IBP help me to start my career in that field? Any inputs would be appreciated
Hi Congratulations! We think IBP is an excellent tool for demand planners and having knowledge of SAP IBP will help you within the companies that are using it!
Hi! If you want to define financial planning we would suggest you have a look at SAP Analytics Cloud Planning, since this is specifically catered toward financial planning, while SAP IBP is more about (physical) supply chain planning. You can check out this video: ua-cam.com/video/kE9HjM1xxgU/v-deo.html Hope this helps!
Hi Heidi, Thank you for the interest. I assume that with an ad-hoc plan you mean manual inputs. By standard, the system calculates the plan and it is possible to do adjustments after these calculations. These can be locked. An option is to configure the system in a way that the ad-hoc plan is leading, so that the system will not be able to overwrite it. So, it is possible to lock that plan. This depends on your process. Hopefully this answers your question.

Can an ADHOC plan be locked down? or can the system override the ADHOC and if so Why?
