I watched a few of his videos. I then assume that he is a Prog. Rock Elitist, deducing from his favorites, non-favorites, ranks etc. A very snobbish one. Every other rock bands, from other rock genres, are sh!t to him.
The irony of prog-rock elitists is that their favourite genre is the complete antithesis of what rock was supposed to be from the get-go. Complaining about the simplicity of a rock song is like complaining about the wetness of water.
@LongGone77 Agree. I actually enjoy some complexity, prog elements in rock & metal, or any other music genre for that matter. But to diss on everyone else that do not fit your musical taste? People is currently waging "war" against elitists in rock & metal, if he doesn't know that yet. 😂

You have more of a chill attitude to what I had the first time I seen this video. Great reaction and so much better than me. This guy has no idea and how he talked about this for an hour and has done no research on TW. He doesn't even talk about The Warning for most of the video. Just want to say that the Enter Sandman video went viral before Metallica saw it so they had no inflience at the time they saw it of making the video go viral.
The Corrs are a fairly decent family band from Ireland, who have been around since 1990. The reason that, for example, you haven't heard of them is because their fans aren't inspired to promote them widely, as The Warning fans do with TW. No-one is saying listen to a particular album by The Warning because the others are no good, but some are regarded as a better starting point than others. Everyone has their own opinion on where The Warning noobies should start, but honestly, there are no bad choices. Start with their early albums and follow their journey, or start with their latest and go back to find their origins, it's all good. Lastly, if this guy is so offended by fans saying check out this or that band / song, maybe he should rethink his decision to run a reaction channel. It's something every reactor deals with, he needs to get over himself.
It's not a reaction channel. He has never done a single reaction. It's actually really funny seeing people rip on him for not doing any research, when they do zero research on him. I've subscribed and have been watching his content for 2 weeks. He has some amazing content, as well as advice for young bands trying to navigate the modern music landscape.
@@RussInCanada It is more about recollections of working in the industry. Very rambly, but someone my age, a music consumer and nerd, there are some things that resonate or make me go "Hang on, I half remember something about that".
I went on his channel and all he does is complain about every band unless it's a British band that's 50 years old then it's the best thing ever then I went on Wikipedia and investigated there on him he's biggest thing is that he played with Robert Plant for like a 100 shows that I don't think anybody's heard of it that is under 50 then he was in a couple other bands a total of like 6 years and then he is a drum instructor for Tama Drums😂
Which _The Warning_ deliberately doesn't do - not that they are incapable of it, but (I'm guessing) that they want to be consistent. They definitely write songs to be "radio length" as well. They - and I - see keeping things short and structured as a feature, not a bug.
I was one of the instigators of this mess--a boomer older than him (67). He and I had some decent exchanges regarding the music that he really likes (jazz/fusion and prog rock). He remarked that many of us older folks think that rock is dead. I asked him to take a look at The Warning (as did others). He is a drummer who played with Robert Plant after LZ disbanded. After that he has (and still does) play in jazz/fusion bands. I think that he meant to say that Metallica was influenced by the british invasion, not that they came from it. Anyway, he makes a lot of assumptions that many of us called him out on.
@@the0ne809 This is exactly what I said in his comments section. "Man, you seem like that old guy shaking fist "get off my lawn." I'm actually older than you... " I didn't once call him a boomer.
@@astrogatorjones some people say boomer more like the mentality not the age. Anyway, that was some bizarre video. We arent in the 80s anymore. long gone. also 2025. Happy New years.
The Beatles, Cream, The Who AND etc., etc., etc., played Blues chords and "riffs" and so did just about every other successful band since the 60's . . . . They too were influenced and patterned their sounds on OTHER rockers. The Warning "sound" like other rockers EXACTLY BECAUSE OTHER ROCKERS sound like other rockers. EVEN Prog Rock bands patterned their sounds after OTHER players that influenced them. Edwards' opinion is super good to have. His critique is his own. And should be valued. Listen to it and file it in the appropriate cabinet. AND MOVE ON. The WARNING ROCKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for doing this video. I think the problems with this individual are deep rooted in jealousy. Any band would kill for the type of loyal and outspoken fans that TW have. It's VERY obvious he listened to 10 seconds of MORE and then just wrote them off. He lost all credibility as soon as he said they don't have riffs. It was clear then that he didn't even bother listening to ANY song.
While rock is not the most popular music genre in Mexico or the whole of the Latin America it still a large representation and more impoetantly an EXTREMELY DEDICATED scene from both artists and fans. Many established artists l9ve touring in Latin America because the public is extremely participative and engaged with the shows, they are passioned, they sing along the entire show from begining to end. Does this guy think that in Mexico they only hear mariachi music?? 😂😂😂 Christ! I am not even a rock music fan myself, i hail from Europe and even i know that the rock scene in Mexico is very lively and dedicated. But this guy is an englishman and obviously a tory voter, this type of englishmen live in bubbles with a very distorted view of the world outside his post code.
Bands with bad albums, ELO, first album (just because they are finding their feet and sound, very experimental but all over the place) and Balance of Power (Jeff Lynn's contractual obligation album with a couple of remaining members). Controversial pick, Manic Street Preachers, 'This Is My Truth Tell Me Yours' and 'Holy Bible' , the first lacks a variety of musical textures and pace, the latter leaves me feeling like its 'trying too hard to be worthy'. Its a bit like an actor/actress doing an 'Oscar bait film'.
The Corrs were a big deal in the UK in the 90's, you know last century! Breakthrough hit was a cover of Fleetwood Mac's 'Dreams'. 🤨 Doing covers, can be an important learning experience as well. How to play, how to structure a song, how to make them work together, stretch your abilities. I thought Thrash as a whole owed a debt to Motorhead more than the NWOBHM... The Speed and Aggression certainly fit. Rainbow and Whitesnake are classic rock though Whitesnake pivoted to hair metal later! Judas Priest drifted into the NWOBHM but had been going for years, their cover of 'green manalishi' they did early in their career absolutely stinks (robs the original of all its atmosphere and menace). Yes the NWOBHM was a mostly underground, a couple of band got close to being big, with an album or two selling OK but Iron Maiden were the biggest, Judas Priest was a poor second in a commercial sense. Seems he was in a couple of Neo-Prog bands in the 80's thru to the 2000's (riding the coat tails of Marillion who were the only real success of the scene) and later seems to have been a jobbing session/touring drummer. The Highlight seems to have been Robert Plants touring band. Seems I'm the same age as him, grew up on 2-Tone, New Wave, post punk (including Goth), Synth, what would become 'Indie', a bit of disco, being in the UK a LOT of Black American electro funk while being schooled on mums record collection of British Blues Explosion (Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin) and her singles collection of late 60's early 70's Psychedelic and Garage rock (there was a LOT of 'borrowing' between collections). I love The Warning, Avatar, Ghost, Chvrches, Wargasm, Gunship etc.
The only thing that's really wrong is that the girls' fans flock to his channel to increase his views and comments... he probably, in fact almost certainly, won't even read them if not to fuel disagreements that increase the amount of comments! Don't be stupid, don't play his game... I know these characters!
Actually in the 80s brit nerds were into electronic music like Kraftwerk. Nerds liked science and science fiction and Doctor Who and electronic music was the music of space and science. Not metal! Metal was the rebel kids' music, not the nerds!
Yeah I seen this dude and his reaction about the warning. I see that from older folks about new music, it’s even worst in country music. He is just trying to get more likes or feed in his channel
It is funny that this guy is putting himself in the position of Arbiter of "Real Rock" when the music that he made was crap. I went and listened to some of his stuff, and while he's an ok drummer, the bands he was in were not great. Seems like someone is a little jealous of three women having success where he did not.
I don't blame him though. It's the usual clash of generations. He (as well as me) comes from a time when bands were all about sweat and tears. The guy just doesn't understand the importance of social media and videogames in shaping today's music. Also he (as many others) makes the mistake of comparing TW with heavy/ speed metal bands like Metallica. People just don't get it: TW is NOT heavy and don't want to be either. What they do is alternative Rock, much more melodic. Of course you'll be disappointed if you expect TW or Paramore or Muse to sound like Iron Maiden, Tool or Carcass.
I don’t get it. I’m from that time also, and am a professional musician. That doesn’t blind me from recognizing that a family of siblings obviously doesn’t go actively searching for other musicians… and social media is how bands get fame now. You know that… but he doesn’t seem to.
@@don-music you’ll be even more confused if you watch the next video he did on The Warning (Oh yeah, there’s a follow up) where he states that they’re not good musicians, and “don’t get him started on all the things that Pau doesn’t do as a drummer.” 🤦🏻♂️
It's pretty obvious that everyone that jumped on him never bothered to research his musical credentials. He absolutely nailed it when he said that The Warning represents an ideal version of 'proper rock' to certain older fans who can't deal with the fact that they've lost the ability to listen to modern rock. It's the exact same ones that complained about the sound of Keep Me Fed, and said it didn’t sound like a Warning album. The same ones that want them to keep making QOTMS over and over. The same ones that won't listen to the modern bands that DPA listen to, like Dead Poets Society, Muse, Bring Me The Horizon, My Chemical Romance or Royal Blood. The ones that want them to sound like Queen, Sabbath and Pink Floyd, because that's their fuzzy blanket.
Informative comment, but he couldn't understand why a band would play covers of popular songs of more known bands. That's just one of the many things he seemed clueless on.
I checked his “musical credentials” on Wikipedia. He toured 1 year with Robert Plant and the rest of his career was playing for a lot of no name bands.
What happened is a bunch of overzealous Warning maniacs accosted a guy who's a music instructor, and is deep into progressive rock, jazz, jazz rock and hard rock and annoyed him into listening to their favourite band. He said "Yeah. They're good, but not outstanding." Remember, he's comparing them to Jaco Pastorious, John McLaughlin and Tony Williams. He's comparing them to high level musical excellence. DPA are really good, but compared to Mahavishnu Orchestra, Genesis, Gentle Giant, UK, Yes or Gong, TW is pretty straight forward rock. Compared to The Bangles, The Warning are light years beyond. Compared to King Crimson, they ARE The Bangles. What the Warning Army accomplished is completely turning off a potential supporter. All he sees is a completely toxic fanbase that shriek like banshees when anyone dares criticize their girls. Nice work. Way to represent.

@LongGone77
Agree. I actually enjoy some complexity, prog elements in rock & metal, or any other music genre for that matter.
But to diss on everyone else that do not fit your musical taste?
People is currently waging "war" against elitists in rock & metal, if he doesn't know that yet. 😂
@@iqbalmuhammad2920 Oh absolutely! I love lots of complex music. Nothing wrong with that.
For me though, it's like someone saying that the only good style of pizza is the one with the most toppings. You can add plenty of extra toppings and make a great and interesting pizza; but if someone can't appreciate just cheese, sauce and dough, they're missing the whole point of pizza. lol!
excelent response
this guy needs HELP!
Ese tipo no escucho nada, solo hizo el video para vistas. Su opinion sobre la banda es tan intrascendente. Un musico fracasado hablando mal de lo que NO le gusta...
Wait... wha.....?
How by the tentacles of the flying spaghetti monster is one trying to make a valid point in comparing the Warning with The Coors....? I mean what the actual F...? That's like compairing James Hetfield with Luciano Pavarotti. Completely 2 different musical genres from a different era. Like in makes no sense at all. 2:42 seconds in and i've got the feeling this is not going to go down well, me hearties.....
This guy runs a reaction channel? I thought it was just an old man rambling on about things he doesn't like.
@@rantandchill9503 🤣🤣🤣 This comment made me laugh out loud!!
@@RussInCanada Just not for bands made of young women...
And then he quit those so he could go be a college instructor at Cambridge
To be fair, he said, he's a big "complicated long guitar solo" guy
Which _The Warning_ deliberately doesn't do - not that they are incapable of it, but (I'm guessing) that they want to be consistent. They definitely write songs to be "radio length" as well. They - and I - see keeping things short and structured as a feature, not a bug.
He's a prog rock/jazz fusion elitist snob.
For the record, it was "Rock Band" not "Guitar Hero".
Just ignore trolls (he never even listened them) and enjoy your music. After all "music is life."
"Football is Life" Danny Rojas 😉
I was one of the instigators of this mess--a boomer older than him (67). He and I had some decent exchanges regarding the music that he really likes (jazz/fusion and prog rock). He remarked that many of us older folks think that rock is dead. I asked him to take a look at The Warning (as did others). He is a drummer who played with Robert Plant after LZ disbanded. After that he has (and still does) play in jazz/fusion bands. I think that he meant to say that Metallica was influenced by the british invasion, not that they came from it. Anyway, he makes a lot of assumptions that many of us called him out on.
Who is this guy?
The Warning covered Atlas Rising. Is that "proper Metallica" for him?
dude ,i love it
Glad you like it!
This guy is so misinformed and believes his own word salads. I’m really surprised he has any subscribers at all.
Boomer here. I did go around with him. It was futile. I think he mainly doesn't like that they are girls. BTW... trashing boomers... not cool.
I think he is trashing the mentality of some boomers, like the old man yelling at clouds. Some boomers are cool.
@@the0ne809 This is exactly what I said in his comments section.
"Man, you seem like that old guy shaking fist "get off my lawn." I'm actually older than you... "
I didn't once call him a boomer.
Doing covers, can be an important learning experience as well.
This guys entire channel schtick is gaslighting to start arguments .
Yep. Lots of his videos are him sniping at bands with big followings, where he KNOWS the fans are going to argue with him.
Load had a few good songs
I'm convinced his entire video was satire. Badly done but FFS The Beatles played covers and he knows that.
Same bs again…😂😂😂

Cool. You did 10 seconds of research.
