    Sir Ludovic Kennedy (still going strong at the age of 87) is brilliant here, in many ways better in this sketch than even Peter himself. Watch for a second time. His timing is exquisite.

    I have that cd! I agree, its amazing! Really funny the tangents they both go off on. You would almost think that the bit about the 'fossilised christ' wouldn't be allowed on air...but I suppose as it was on radio 3, and the only people that could be offended was an old woman with a small dog in cheltenham, and a few students planning to avoid next days final exam, they decided that they would risk it....

    Delightfully Radio 4Xtra are running the Chris Morris interviews with Sir Arthur. A joy for all of us.

    The reason Ludovic's timing is so spot on is that he was cut in afterwards. He wasn't actually present when Sir Arthur was being recorded.

    @lil902 His comedy was not "too high brow" but it was irreverent and funny. I don't consider him a very intelligent person but compared to many idiots out there, yes he was but that's not saying much.

    Peter Cook makes an error when talking about the Giraffe. As the Romans actually did import african animals to various parts of the Empire, including the Girraffe. They were considered to be harmless creatures, that were peaceful ; roman crowds were appalled when the emperor Commodus slaughtered one in the Colosseum. There is a likelihood that the Picts of what was then Northern Britannia, would have in fact, seen a giraffe. There is a very high likelihood that they would have sighted a ladder too, as the Romans certainly had them, and would have made use of them with those walls they constructed in Northern England. In fact, given the Pictish artworks they have left behind on alingated rocks, it is likely they had ladders of their own.

      Emperor Commodus? fancy doing such a terrible thing, maybe they decided to use his name for a crock of shit.

    • @petermorningsnow
      @petermorningsnow 6 років тому

      What a beautiful post! I disagree with you on the Picts, but it is good to hear you speak truth to the 12 disciples, is how it's spelt. Keep up the good work.

    • @RodCorkin

      But the Greebling tribe was subterranean so they would not have aware of anything the Romans were doing.

      Apart from ladders, building walls and importing African animals. what have the Romans ever done for us?

    They live in tiny watches, and tell the time with their hands. For the pious buisnessman on the go who needs to keep one eye on clock (and on christ) at all times.

    Haha! How is that even Peter Cook?! Because of the words coming out of his mouth, everything else is unrecognizable, corrupt.
