I started watching you a few years ago Alvin and just like the normal UA-cam algorithm, it turned me to other pages. But you came back in my playlist about a month ago and I cant get enough. Its renewed my love for fishing. I've been out to the ponds every day since then a 2 trips to the Orvis store in Houston. Now I just gotta get up to the Hill Country and do some fishing with you my friend. Thanks for putting out videos like this.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing I've been fishing the Colorado since 2012, curious for you opinion do you think the quality of fishing fell off post Hurricane Harvey?
Your videos are so good, so simple and so satisfying, they keep me coming back ever since I found your channel. You're such a calm, satisfying person to watch. I'd love to come fishing with you as a guide. Or have you visit Alberta and take you out on the waters up here.
At about 4:30 something big splashes behind you down stream. Cool vid Alvin. I've got a boat on order and expect to do quite a few solo river trips so this was really helpful.
I fish solo a lot, my best friend is my dierks anchor system , I anchor up and fish spots then move on , it’s not as efficient as two or three guys , but it’s a definite game changer for me fishing by myself in a river
I have a 20’ length of 3/8” rope off the stern of my boat. One end connects to the transom and the other has a locking D-ring. I have 2’ long sections of 1/2”chain that attach to the D-ring. Depending on current speed and wind speed I may only drag one length of chain or a combination of them to get the drift speed where I want it. The chain bounces along the limestone riverbed here in FL and 85% of the time it cruises right over downed logs and sunken snags. The chain drag makes fishing solo about as fun as possible unless the wind can’t make up its mind
Awesome video, love seeing the drone footage! Excited to see how you use that in the future. We just started fly fishing out of Bastrop, so I love seeing this stretch of the river.
I really enjoy your videos. You provide lots of useful information and also have such a good sense of humour and nice manner. Question: Can you tell me the make and model of the boat you are using? Thanks!
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing definitely on my film equipment list. did you get your commercial license. i keep hearing im supposed to get one for doing UA-cam but not sure if that's really in forced as long as you are in the middle of nowhere not bothering anyone
Got to get out on a solo mission.

Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing man!...behind you in traffic, they think-“Man...must be nice!”😎🎣🔥🤘🏻
Watching Alvin cast to spots that would give me absolute nightmares, but I’ll get there one day.
As always, love the video.
Thanks, but I did get snagged in one of the best spots.
Seems like a good day, sometimes it just feels good to be out there!
So true.
Looks like a stretch of the Colorado. Heck I'll row just to watch you fish
Yup the home waters.

Thanks for taking us along. Beautiful river!
Glad you enjoyed it

Always love you videos, Alvin! This one was particularly fun!

I saw that, no clue what it was.
As someone who fly fishes from a sit-in kayak solo. I strongly relate to this video.
Yes, the struggle is real.
Just make the call Alvin! I'll learn how to row... 😬😁

I actually have an anchor system. Just haven't had the time to put it in. Looking forward to getting it set up. Thanks for the reminder! 😀

Thanks for the tip, I am going to give that a try.

You need to get north sometime, Mississippi, St Croix and many more prime smallmouth rivers up here✌️
We have a trip planned next month to fish the Huron in Michigan. If it's not flooded that is.

That drone shot tho!
Joyce and went out exploring a new creek. We got one fish and drove a total of 177 miles. We had an amazing day I get what you mean👍
Any day on the water is a good day.
Alvin do you use a lot of cray fish patterns . Really enjoy the information you give us and the videos. God bless
I use them a lot during the winter.
Opening music went great with the drone shots , no matter what you call it it’s still fishing . Although I can do without the 100 degrees :-(
Very true
Have no idea how to row, but if you want help hit me up. I'll gladly call In sick to work and family to go fishing/exploring with you. 🤣🤣
LOL!
man, the extra drone B roll, really helps make the video. what drone are you using. seems to really keep up with you
Thanks, it's an old Mavic Pro. Still hanging in there.

@@southernhood5145 Yeah you need it if you are doing monetized videos on UA-cam. Otherwise I think you just need to register with the FAA,
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing on my list to get done so I can level up my videos
Would a drift sock help or is too much trouble because of downed trees and other stuff to catch on in the river?
Too much stuff to snag on.
What jet outboard motor size do you recommend???
Depends on the boat. Since you lose 30% of the power vs a prop, usually the biggest one your hull can hold.
@@AlvinDedeauxFlyFishing the 16 foot hog island skiff would you recommend 40 jet or 35 jet thanks
@@thepanterdog99 I would go with the 40. A little bit more power than the 35 and not any lighter.
Thanks Alvin thinking of trading in my clackacraft and getting the skiff it’s way more versatile for lakes and rivers
Do you have the same pole set up if you fish Stillwater?
Pretty much. depending on time of year.
Thanks! Great vid. Congrats on 10k subs!!
what the heck is that in the background on the right at 4:33 that blows up?
I have no idea. Didn't notice it until I was posting the video.
