Hoover has a distinctive voice, figured that out pretty quick, but the title was a big hint! Y'all enjoy having those little helpers around, before you know it, they'll be grown.

When I built my pond, we put a 4” pipe in the bottom with a valve on the back side of the dam. It initially handled the water flow during construction, but I’ve used it multiple times since. I’ve opened the valve to pull the water level down for a couple of hurricanes, and I recently pulled it down to avoid premature escape of some chemicals to kill off some pond grass. I have a drain guard on the inlet to prevent fish being sucked out. I would certainly recommend a bottom drain for any pond. It lies beside my 10” overflow (pond level control), and it is sealed it the same concrete seepage block.

Hoover is a great guy, he adds a little something to the job site. I enjoy seeing Gunner helping, looks like he had a good time. The fuel trailer will make some aspects of the job much easier. Cant wait to " officially " see it on a job site!!!!

Mike you should of left a over flow gap in the dam like how Chris does great job of digging the key way wide enough to get bubba dump down in it to dump the dirt into and to compact it
Well the pond Chris was doing was huge and took many many months to finish, so rain had a greater chance of messing things up. This pond is smaller and isnt nearly as hard to manage this water when it gets in it.
Chris dam maybe 10 feet tall this one over 40 not possible sorry to disappoint you

Decade's ago when I was a scout the farmer wanted to drain his pond we camped at the troop volunteered to help he had 2 pipes through the dam one drain one was the over flow the "drain cap" was a old bakelight plate he shoved a iron pipe up the drain pushed it with a tractor till it moved drained pond in no time.

I've learned outdoor work put off because of incoming weather it's not always justifiable as 100% of nothing is just that.
You guys accomplished a lot with servicing and even moving some dirt. Had you not shown up none of this would have been done you never would have caught up because once time is lost it can never be regained.

A bit late to the video but late at night here in the UK I am smiling a lot. As a kid the worst it got for me was working in the 1970s in chemical factories which may account for my medical problems today, playing about in all sorts of waste products including arsenic etc getting ARC eye and welding burns. This might be the cause of my 60y old problems, but what the hell, I am not sad just glad I was there.

I was wondering why you didn't leave a break in the dam so the pond could drain in case of rain before it was finished? With the amount of rain that you can get there, it only takes a day to put an end to work. Not that it helps after the fact. Thanks for sharing.

Maintenance is the name of the game on a down day, nice job of getting to it DP. Man 9” of rain had to be a monsoon type storm. I think your two little helpers are in play mode, but, they have lot more time to work later on in life. Looking forward to your decision on the excavator purchase, I know what I would do based on what I see on your channel history, but then again, I am not paying the bills and don’t know your future project loads, but I would be talking to one of the You Tubers in your area and you already have one of the machine types that individual sells in your fleet.🙄😉😏😁 thanks for the ride along sir. We just put priming water on top of the pump.... Then we kink the discharge hose till it builds pressure... That priming pump makes you way cooler than me!!! Hahahaha
