So true!! It is an inherently touristy place because of the mystique. Crowds are hard to avoid. But walking through the maze of the canals is so cool, especially when the pedestrian traffic starts to thin out!

I really liked Venice once I got away from the main tourist parts. A few blocks makes all the difference.
